reliable service and constant upgrades

Pros

One thing that has really stood out over the years is how consistently the service stays up and running without interruptions. They also keep the platform updated on a regular basis which is reassuring and whenever help is needed, the support team is available.

Cons

Honestly I do not have any complaints. We have been using it for years and I have been very pleased with it the whole time.

provider schedules are convenient

Pros

Checking schedules across different providers is pretty convenient and it doesn't take a lot of clicking to get where I need to go.

Cons

The downside is that it can be slow to open and load and canceling multiple sessions is harder than it should be.

Schedule visibility but time-consuming

Pros

Keeping track of the schedule is simple and moving kids around is simple when changes need to be made.

Cons

There's no option for mass deleting or bulk check-ins which makes the process pretty time-consuming. It also needs constant software updates since it runs on Java.

Pros

smooth EDI transition

Pros

Switching over from our old system was very simple. Their EDI team guided us through transferring our ERA and claims and the whole process happened with barely any downtime.

helpful workflow, sluggish performance

Pros

Using NueMD keeps both the front office and back office working together as one team which really helps my staff stay efficient and on schedule. It's also simple to use so day-to-day tasks are easier to manage.

flexible scheduling with helpful support

Pros

The support team is consistently friendly and pleasant to work with. The appointment modules are simple and they make it possible to separate areas like mental health, clinic and training room while also supporting configuration for overnight patients.

Cons

Since we operate 24/7 and only certain people are allowed to contact support, an issue that comes up at 10 PM on a Friday can sit unresolved until the following week. We used to be able to call at any time but that changed. The team has already been told that in some modules but not others, the date switches to the next day at 8 PM EST which forces manual entry in the text box and that still has not been fixed after a couple of upgrades. Medication entries also do not carry through everywhere from a single entry and sometimes they disappear altogether. Entire notes have even vanished sometimes while information was still being entered. Vital signs also do not allow manual time entry so if they cannot be entered at the actual time because of a power outage or server downtime, everything ends up stamped with the later catch-up time. It would also help to have a way to diagram injuries.

reliable navigation and billing

Pros

Navigating the system is simple when I need to find and track patients for appointments or other medical needs. The billing side is fast and simplified and the way the software is designed helps prevent basic mistakes.

Cons

One issue is that the system tends to freeze fairly often. When that happens, the only fix is to shut it down and restart which can be very inconvenient. We also are not using the EMR features in our university setting right now and having that in place would make the system feel more complete to me. I am not very familiar with the reporting tools so I cannot say much beyond being somewhat inexperienced with that area rather than unhappy. Support has been average although I have not needed to contact them very often. Billing support could be a bit stronger too but since I have not had any urgent problems, the software still works well overall.

Great features

Pros

Having a system with this many tools while still being simple to use has been a big help. After the initial information is entered, billing future sessions becomes much simpler. I only recently discovered I could have saved myself hours of phone time by entering prospective clients' insurance details into the system and getting electronic reports on their coverage instead. Support has consistently been available and helpful, just as promised. With how complicated insurance billing can be, I'm sure I would have dealt with major confusion and headaches without a workable system like this. I've seen other agencies struggle with chaotic billing processes that likely could have been avoided with NueMD.

Cons

There were times when the billing statement feature was hard to get to although a quick call to Support usually fixed the issue.

fast reports and responsive support

Pros

A few things make this product really stand out especially how user-friendly it is, how fast and detailed the reports are and how much the training representative went above and beyond during onboarding and customer service. It's also a big plus that when I call, I can usually reach a live customer service person with very little wait time. The Billing/Financial feature is stronger than a lot of competing products with clean claim tracking, submission and reporting.

Cons

I'd still like to see the option to fax directly from the EHR, as well as a way to turn encounters into letters. Uploading EHR files from an outside vendor also takes far too long. We've been waiting more than six weeks for the file transition.

powerful features and helpful support

Pros

NueMD covers a lot, from scheduling and billing to reporting which makes it a very complete system for my practice. As the main provider, I had never handled online billing before so getting comfortable with the program took some time at first. Still, the more I work in it, the more confident I get and that has helped me take advantage of more of the features it offers. One thing I really appreciate is the customer support. Whenever I run into trouble, they're very helpful and can remotely access my computer to walk me through a specific function step by step which has been the most useful way for me to learn.

Cons

Like I mentioned, if you don't come from a billing background, it can take quite a while to learn the system and become comfortable using all of NueMD's features efficiently.

excellent scheduling features

Pros

The scheduling side of NueMD has been the highlight for me. We spent months trying to get the EMR working and had several meetings with their team but it just never came together. It wasn't user-friendly at all and we ended up losing a lot of time and money because of it.

Cons

The scheduling software is something I really appreciate but there are still a couple of frustrations. In the schedule section under Print, we have to print every page one at a time instead of having a single-click option for new patient forms. The EMR was also impossible to work with and it wasn't usable on my Surface tablet.
