“terrible support after acquisition”
Pros
The bidirectional billing does help with accounting and makes that part more manageable.
Cons
Not long after we put it in place, the company was acquired and the support became absolutely horrible. They no longer support the product and they refuse to make enhancements or fix any issues.

“Completely disappointing”
Pros
The pros are so less in comparison to the cons, like the awful customer support, the system is not instable, and the sales representative are very misleading, so the pros are not even mentioning when all of this is happening.
Cons
You’ll regret using this software, not now but soon. AdvanceMD who owns NueMD was itself a terrible experience. The customer support is worst. This software is a true nightmare, it isn’t something that would help you solve your problems for you, but it creates more for you. The tickets that were issued to us were never resolved, even though we asked them to help a lot of the times. All EMR companies are useless, they are greedy, and make worthless things that are of no help to anyone.

“My experience with NueMD”
Pros
It has quite a simple medical billing. This product gives you speed of appointment, scheduling and billing. Due to all this I can keep track of all the data, stay organized and synchronize all the agenda in real time and that also with the help of my mobile phone. My experience with this product is quite great. It is easy to optimize the scheduling time of appointments from my mobile phone.
Cons
There isn’t anything bad about this product, just the fact that you would need a stronger internet connection to make best use of all the features that this product provides. There are a lot of benefits that you can enjoy.

“clean all-in-one medical workflow”
Pros
Having medical documentation and billing in one place is really helpful and the platform offers a lot of features. Once you get used to it, it's simple to work with and the interface looks clean and organized.
Cons
Coming from other medical EHR systems, the learning curve felt pretty steep at the beginning.

“Glitchy workflow”
Pros
One thing this program does well is provide fast visual displays that make it simple to move from one screen to another. It also supports different functions for different users in the office which works well in a multi-user setting.
Cons
It can take quite a while to load and it depends on JAVA which is frustrating. Some features are not very simple so they take extra effort to figure out. There's also a scheduling issue where appointment slots can end up double-booked if multiple staff members are booking at the same time without realizing it.

“clean labs and records”
Pros
Back when we first opened our practice, we used NueMD and it was very simple to work with. We really appreciated the way the lab results were laid out and the printed medical records for each patient had a format that worked well for us.
Cons
The only downside was the lack of OB charting.

“Simple and effective EMR”
Pros
I am not a college graduate, and yet I have no issues using this product/system. It is pretty simple to understand this product and use it. It is quite easy to use. They use different colors to distinguish between the transactions (e.g. payments received, insurance updates, patient scheduling etc.) that have been made or are to be made, it makes it visually easier to determine. Its faster to negotiate between the patient files around with the help of speed buttons that are provided. I would recommend this product to any office that is looking for and EMR/EHR.
Cons
I don’t like the financial page of the product, because when a patient comes to visit a lot, then the financial page becomes too long and keeps on increasing. They should add a feature that has tickets that can be closed when the visit is complete or can downsize the page.

“frustrating support and billing mess”
Pros
Having billing and scheduling combined in one program is convenient and the system itself is simple to use.
Cons
There are too many problems to list but the biggest issue is the lack of follow-up and poor communication from the account managers, billing team and client services. Emails and calls often go unanswered and when someone finally does respond, they are not very helpful. I also dealt with rude and interruptive behavior and they would not even address me properly by my credentials over the phone or by email. On top of that, there were incorrect billing charges and wrong EHR charges for multiple months which I had to catch and correct myself. Worst of all, trying to get my information and records after ending the contract felt nearly impossible. I would strongly recommend researching other EHR and billing software options and saving yourself a lot of unnecessary stress. In short, your money is better spent somewhere else.

“Faster billing and simpler workflow”
Pros

“Terrible experience”
Pros
We have opted for the billing of NueMD, and to some extent we do like our biller. We often have no issues while sending claims. The customer support team of the company do answer the phone and asks you to hold, which takes up to 30 minutes, but they have improved a bit.
Cons
The EHR is terrible. We pay an extra fee for the appointment reminders and e-prescription. The screen keeps freezing continuously. When we signed the contract with them, they did not mention about any extra costs that we would have to pay to use the features, but now we have to pay for it to use them. When asked upon, they simply said that they were too many features to mention, but when we signed the contract it was just a half sheet of paper, not even full. For 4 months all of our providers couldn’t work, just because of the extra fee. Its horrendous. Don’t fall for them, and always check your contract before signing.

“outdated system and poor support”
Pros
Billing is really the only strong point here. If you're using the software just for billing, it's fairly simple to work with and the clearinghouse has helped speed up claims processing for my practice.
Cons
My biggest frustration started with the sales demo, where I was given inaccurate information about both pricing and functionality so definitely read the contract very carefully. The training is very limited, only offered during business hours and support usually takes 1-2 business days to reach you sometimes only by appointment when it works for them. I even had one trainer fail to be available during a session after I had already cancelled patient appointments to make time for it. The staff seem locked into very narrow roles and often can't answer questions outside their specific area. Templates, portal, e-labs, e-prescribing and billing all seem to be handled separately and the trainers only know certain sections of the system. On top of that, follow-through on issues is poor. The EHR templates still had not been corrected after three months. E-prescribing and e-labs are outsourced to Change Healthcare and after being told for two months that I would have e-labs with local hospitals, I was eventually told those hospitals were "not on the list," meaning I would never get e-labs despite paying a monthly fee for the service. It also took six weeks just to get a new receptionist access for e-prescribing. Refill requests are still being faxed to me so paperless operation is not realistic. If you pay them to handle your billing, that service is outsourced too. The patient portal is extremely limited and only supports secure messaging, not document transfer. Overall its functionality feels about ten years behind. If patients want to pay online, you have to create a PayPal account and absorb the PayPal fees. They also tried to sell me their supposedly "smooth" credit card processor and I'm relieved I chose another option because your office processor can't be used for online payments. Overall this is not a user-friendly system or a user-friendly company.

Pros
Using this product has been unbelievable. I've honestly never worked with a software program that feels this user-friendly and simple.

“scheduling overshadowed by GLITCHES”
Pros
The scheduling part worked noticeably better than the notes area. Documentation choices were pretty limited overall.
Cons
Setting up recurring appointments was frustrating and it wouldn't sync with other calendars. Moving between different functions felt buggy and the app froze a lot. It also struggled with basic tasks it really should have handled without issues.

“constant freezing and workflow headaches”
Pros
At least the interface looks polished and the color scheme is pleasant. It has also pushed us to come up with our own creative workarounds although those fixes cost our practice extra money and are only necessary because of the limitations of this software.
Cons
From day to day use, the system freezes constantly and we end up having to reload it over and over. Medication listings are especially frustrating because they appear by full drug name, then NDC, then dosage with a huge list of NDC numbers the doctor has to pick from just to get auto-fill to work. Since the window is so small, you often cannot even see the mg strength without scrolling down and sideways to find the correct medication. No doctor is going to know which NDC number the pharmacist will actually use so that setup makes no practical sense. Creating shortcuts for commonly prescribed medications is also extremely time-consuming. There are so many medications to enter and each one has to be added individually for every doctor. Uploading documents is another major problem. The software only allows 10MB at a time into a chart and every page takes around 10 seconds to save which blocks you from using the system until the save finishes. If you need to upload a 25-page scanned medical chart, you have to split it into batches of five pages, wait about a minute for each batch and repeat the process. That means spending more than five minutes just to load one chart before you can even continue working. In a busy office that regularly uploads patient forms, that is a serious problem. Trying to upload something like a 160MB CD is basically impossible. It also lacks the common medical terminology auto-correct tools that other programs have so staff end up making manual corrections that waste even more time. When something needs to be fixed, it can take months and you have to keep chasing the support team just to get attention on the issue. Requests are sent to a tech committee for review and many times there is no response at all especially if they cannot or will not make the change. Since the merger with AdvancedMD, they seem even less willing to address anything unless they decide it is urgent. The worst part is that several of our requested fixes were submitted long before the merger, more than six months ago. One feature we were specifically promised within three weeks of purchase and which was part of the reason we bought the product, still has not been completed after more than six months. Another limitation is that you can only view one page on the screen at a time which makes it hard to review one section while charting in another. Overall it feels like the people behind the software do not understand how a busy medical practice actually runs or they are constrained by a product that simply does not meet the needs of one. It is not a good fit for busy doctors and there are plenty of additional issues beyond these.

“Billing nightmare and wasted time”
Pros
Once the therapist portions for evaluations, daily notes, progress notes and discharge documentation were fully built out, they actually worked well. The training on the therapist side was solid, the workflow felt simple and scheduling was reasonably manageable.
Cons
The billing side has been an absolute nightmare. Training for the front office was very poor and overall everything felt disorganized. Even after using the system for 6 months, it is still far less efficient than the billing software we had before. We switched to electronic charts and scheduling to save time and money but instead the front desk now spends excessive time dealing with billing issues and trying to get answers from customer service that never seems to know what they're doing. We could not get correct or useful advice from support or even the billing manager. Simple direct emails went unanswered and phone calls were not returned. During the initial setup, they entered our tax ID incorrectly which caused us not to get reimbursed by multiple insurance companies for more than 6 months until we finally learned what the problem was. I am still paying for two clearinghouses because one insurance keeps paying part of the time through the old system and part through the new one. Despite being cloud-based, the software is very slow to access and use. The other day, it took more than 22 minutes just to get back online while I was in the middle of treating a patient. On top of that, the constant software updates keep breaking icons, scanners and printers, forcing us to spend hours on IT fixes and troubleshooting. I would strongly warn anyone against signing a contract for this product. I cannot wait for mine to end.
