“Worst code bases to work with

Pros

Its open source and includes most of the functions I expect in an EMR.

Cons

There is no support and the documentation is very poor. The API is weak as it offers very few endpoints. Also this is one of the worst codebases I have ever seen as views have SQL queries, there are no standards and the database design is poor.

The navigation is very easy to use, as it follows the common layout and design practices typically found in EMR systems.

Cons

Since I only have access to a demo site the data is outdated and too minimal to showcase reporting and other features properly.

It offers alot of options, and its flexibility makes it easy to customize according to my specific needs. It is very user-friendly, with an interactive design that makes it simple to use. Also, it ensures that all of our data is kept secure.

I had been searching for an EHR software to transition from paper records, and this solution has fulfilled all of my requirements. It has been incredibly impressive in how well it handles everything I need, from organizing patient information to improving efficiency.

It needs to have an automatic email for reminders to patients so we do not have to manually send it to everyone.

I can configure it easily by creating forms from scratch or tweaking the existing ones out of the box.

Cons

Managing the log and keeping track of rental items like scooters and wheelchairs can be challenging, especially since the product does not come with any pre-configured features for this purpose. This means I have to set things up from scratch, which can be time-consuming and requires extra effort.

“Fantastic and Free!

Pros

One of the best EMRs out there that is free as well as completely functional. It is very user-friendly and customizable, which makes it even better than its fellow competitors. The customer support team is very responsive, and they possess good knowledge regarding the software.

Cons

The only drawback to this is the need for knowledge or IT support. And while the customer support representatives are readily available, working with a team that would have EMR experts would make things a whole lot easier.

The billing system is quite basic and does not cover the specific needs of our clinic.

Price is right, its easy to install and it does not crash. I have been using OpenEMR since 2010 in my private medical office. Everything runs online on our domain. I installed this software myself and I am no IT expert as I am an orthopedic specialist.

Cons

Translating to Portuguese is very difficult for me.

Navigating through the software and implementing its features has been quite easyd for me. It has made documenting notes much simpler, streamlining the process and saving me valuable time. Plus, the software has improved the patient check-in process.

During verification of insurance, some issues arise which slow down the patient’s check-in. however, those issues are easily resolved.

“Leading free php EMR software

Pros

Easy to use and I like having multiple form types for data entry. The interface of OpenEMR 6.0.2 is incredibly smooth. It fits well with our small practice which now has 13,000 registered patients.

Cons

They have not developed a dedicated mobile app yet. The browser based interface works but a mobile app would be an added bonus.

The only thing I liked about this software was that it was free and all I needed to do was hire a trainer to teach my office staff how to use it.

I have to program or set up all the functionalities myself. There is no automatic configuration, so everything needs to be customized manually, which can take some time and effort.

This EMR stands out as a strong option when compared to others.

Cons

The barcode pop-up should display customized patient details, similar to how OpenClinic GA generates an OPD card with patient information. Also the in-house option in the dispensing module should be removed to simplify the dispensing process. Currently, if I forget to select a drug from the in-house dropdown, the system throws an "Internal error, no drug ID specified!" message. It would be much more efficient if the in-house option was eliminated to avoid this issue.

The cost is brilliant! The tool works, in spite of the fact that not fundamentally right out of the box in the event that I have got uncommon needs. Adaptability is incredible. Works on different platforms.

There is a learning curve, especially if the customizations are not set up properly. It can take some time to get used to the system and understand how everything works.

It works on different platforms, which makes it really flexible for me. It's also affordable and offers a lot of flexibility with its features, so I can easily adjust it to fit my needs.

We wanted software that would end our need for paper charts and help us keep extensive records and we got both with this software!

We are in Canada but it meets and complies with our local laws! We own our server too which is pretty great.

This software is open source, which gives me a lot of control to code it my way and I can easily customize it according to my requirements. I have the system stored on my servers, so whenever I face a database issue, I can easily work through it my own self. The best part is the ability to code and customize according to what you need.

There isn’t anything that I can yet say about this software, and I also believe that the more you learn and use the software, the easier it becomes for you.

This system is freely available as it is an open source software. The interface of this system is quite beautiful, and anyone would love it. The system is very easy to use, but if you are new to it you can use some orientation and then you’re good to go. This system is the way to go. It is amazing.

The need to give out more videos or guides to the users so that they have a better idea of configuring the system and customizing as well.

This system is pretty great and is easy to use as well. The system being open source is big plus point for the company and it brings a lot of opportunities. If they keep on working hard like this, they can easily take hold of the entire EMR market.

They need to improve their security as it is an open source product, so I think they should invest more in cybersecurity.

“You need patience and computing skills

Pros

Biggest advantage is that its free, which is why I spent nights and weekends trying to set it up and make it work. Also it is vast and capable of doing almost anything.

Cons

It seems more focused on a standard medical model rather than alternative options. Customer support is not great unless you pay for an upgrade. I felt like I needed an IT or computer background to fully understand and make the most of it. I was using the latest version which I think is actually a downgrade from an older version my colleague has.

I DO not HAVE MUCH NEGATIVE TO SAY... THE SYSTEM DID FREEZE ONCE IN A WHILE BUT OTHER THAN THAT IT WORKED REALLY WELL!

Pros

This system is a keeper. Amazing system and you would definitely love it. You can easily verify the insurances through this system, which I know is something that everyone needs. Manoeuvring through the system is so easy, that you can never get lost in it. The representatives of this system are pretty good as they always come through whenever you need their help.

Cons

There are a few times that we were unable to verify the insurances, and the reason for that has yet to be identified. Sometimes the system also goes down and you cannot do anything about it. The patient demographics have some unnecessary categories, which I would suggest that they remove.

The system had some really great features that it offered, and they are as follows: Demographics, Code Diagnostics, ICD9, ICD10, Billing, Import/Export, HIPPA Compliant, ONC certification. The EMR was pretty simple to use, and it wasn’t hard to understand it. Billing patients, making notes, scheduling, uploading charts and x-rays, keeping track of conditions and prescriptions, insurance tracking etc, was the main plus points of this system. It is simple and easy to use. The system is very convenient as well.

Cons

All that I mentioned above feels like ancient history now, as things have stopped working the way it used to work. The product is open sourced so that’s a con for me. It’s calendar appointments and vitals aren’t that great either. They need to improve to get back in the game.

OpenEMR is not user friendly. Also it does not flow smoothly and needs a better medication record system.

Software excels in medical records. The records are detailed and well organized.

Cons

Vendor is weak in account management like insurance follow-ups, posting payments and adjusting service dates. There is not much effort in reviewing or reporting outliers like underpayments or generating Receivables aging reports.
