Its open source and includes most of the functions I expect in an EMR.
Cons
There is no support and the documentation is very poor. The API is weak as it offers very few endpoints. Also this is one of the worst codebases I have ever seen as views have SQL queries, there are no standards and the database design is poor.

One of the best EMRs out there that is free as well as completely functional. It is very user-friendly and customizable, which makes it even better than its fellow competitors. The customer support team is very responsive, and they possess good knowledge regarding the software.

Easy to use and I like having multiple form types for data entry. The interface of OpenEMR 6.0.2 is incredibly smooth. It fits well with our small practice which now has 13,000 registered patients.

Cons
The barcode pop-up should display customized patient details, similar to how OpenClinic GA generates an OPD card with patient information. Also the in-house option in the dispensing module should be removed to simplify the dispensing process. Currently, if I forget to select a drug from the in-house dropdown, the system throws an "Internal error, no drug ID specified!" message. It would be much more efficient if the in-house option was eliminated to avoid this issue.
