“affordable but complex”
Pros
For my relatively small, newer private practice the upfront pricing initially felt more affordable than expected.
Cons
It is harder to get around compared to other similar software packages Ive used before.

“Everything needed in one convenient place”
Pros
Everything I need is in a single, convenient place. I can book appointments, run telehealth sessions, jot clinical notes and manage billing all from one platform. When I am using TherapyNotes, LLC, I rarely have to use other tools. As it automatically tracks all the details for me which really lightens my workload.
Cons
The cost seems quite high. Also customer support was difficult to get ahold of the first time I reached out which was frustrating.

“user friendly!”
Pros
I am a fan of how user friendly the system is and how easy it is to read.
Cons
In my experience, there are a lot of areas that need improvement. Reports and data collection are practically nonexistent and finding a way to track and report missed appointments is painfully difficult. Billing secondary insurances is also not simple, note and memo fields feel cluttered and I'd really like the option to change appointment colors for things like checked-in or canceled statuses.

“outstanding support”
Pros
The interface is user friendly and their client portal makes things so easy too. Sending documents to my clients is also effortless in this digital age. Plus their customer support has been outstanding.
Cons
I cannot create fully customizable progress note templates, though the default form works well enough for my needs. Admittedly I am a bit particular about these things.

“difficult setup and confusing interface”
Pros
As someone who needed flexibility in practice, I like that it's a customizable EHR. Exactly the kind of system I was searching for.
Cons
Setting it up was really difficult and I found there is a noticeable learning curve as getting around the interface in the beginning felt pretty confusing and clunky.

“User friendly interface saves staff time”
Pros
I really like that Therapy Notes offers a user-friendly interface that saves time and makes it much easier for my staff to learn and navigate, especially since we have multiple practitioners.
Cons
Although the program has been very user-friendly overall, I noticed the billing and claims workflow can be a bit complex and may take some time to fully master.

“Very easy and budget friendly for practice”
Pros
It is very easy to use from both the clinician and client sides. Also it is budget-friendly which really helps a smaller practice like mine. Their support team was excellent too as they are always quick to respond and genuinely helpful.
Cons
What ultimately pushed me to switch platforms was a need for more customizable forms. Though the default templates covered the essentials but they could not be customized to the specific needs of my niche client population. And while I did appreciate that the standard paperwork included required information, the lack of flexibility did not fit my practice.

“Really happy with pricing and discounts”
Pros
Overall I am really happy with the program's pricing and the discounts they offer. Plus the built in to-do list has been an absolute lifesaver for keeping me organized.
Cons
Customer support is not my favorite, though I wouldn't call it bad. But I've experienced slow replies at times, so it can be frustrating even if it's tolerable overall.

“Made writing and organizing case notes incredibly easy for me”
Pros
As a mental health practitioner, writing case notes has become so much easier for me. I can keep every single note saved in one central, organized place which makes it simple to pull them up whenever I need to and I can quickly apply filters to find any specific entry I'm searching for.
Cons
The cost is fairly high for solo practitioners. For someone running a one-person practice that price can be hard to justify.

“not really happy w the service!”
Pros
The salesperson knew their stuff and that the product is dedicated solely to mental health. Plus it comes with a lot of handy features and I found the telehealth functionality, built-in credit card processing and the client portal especially appealing and thoughtfully designed.
Cons
What frustrated me was that they sold it to me at one price and then tried to change the pricing for supervisors afterward. I complained and they honored the original agreement briefly but before I'd even had it for thirty days, they raised all the prices and went back on their promise not to charge for supervisors. I have expressed my dissatisfaction and they apologized for the frustration, yet nothing has been restored. They sold me the software with certain fees and then altered everything within a month, which has left me very unhappy.

“quick record transfer”
Pros
I loved how simple the setup process was. Transferring patient records from another EHR happened quickly, saving me a lot of time. The handy to-do list on the main screen guides you through every step so nothing gets missed and it keeps me organized each time I sign in. I also really like that telehealth is built right into the platform and the charting templates are easy to use. Also it is easy to upload documents and share them with patients which I do often. Their customer support stands out. As the team responds quickly, follows up to confirm things are working and even checked in personally to see how I was getting on. I was massively impressed by how fast they activated e-prescribing and EPCS as what other systems take weeks to do, they completed in under a week. They also helped me connect to my state's PMP. For those working in more than one office, the ability to add multiple locations is a really convenient and helpful feature.
Cons
The e-prescribing add-on is pricey. When I wrote this review it cost me $65 per month on top of the base EHR fee which feels steep compared with similar platforms. I wish they would offer a one-time setup fee for EPCS instead and reduce the ongoing prescribing charges to make it more affordable.

“easy billing and comes with excellent support”
Pros
TherapyNotes is extremely easy to use. The whole billing workflow from claim submission through payment receipt is simple. Also their customer support is excellent and reachable by phone whenever I need help.
Cons
That said I wish the treatment-plan templates were more comprehensive because they are fairly limited right now. Also it would help if there were more fillable forms so clients could complete paperwork directly in the system. I'd also prefer a flat-rate billing fee instead of being charged per submission.
