What I like most was how simple it made scheduling clients and the fact that I could jump from one note to another with a single click, which really saved me time and reduced friction during busy days.
Cons
I did miss several customization options I rely on like color-coding, the ability to set different billing rates per client, submitting forms electronically and I noticed there wasn't an online portal for clients to book or cancel appointments.

Over the past four years I have been using TherapyNotes regularly and in my experience the service is fantastic. Overall it consistently stands out as the best platform for managing therapy documentation.
Cons
Every so often I experience Telehealth interruptions during sessions but support typically acts quickly to fix the problem and explains the underlying cause clearly.

As a clinician running a solo practice, I depend on TherapyNotes outstanding customer support. They make it easy for me to handle my own billing, maintain my EHR, schedule new clients, manage onboarding paperwork and take care of all the other practice tasks this platform is built to handle!
Cons
I have got nothing negative to say. For the past ten years I've used it both inside an agency and later in my private practice and it reliably handles every practice-management need I have.

It is easy to understand and I found learning and managing the schedule really easy. Plus having the ability to get into the billing section was a big help for me.
Cons
Since the last updates it keeps freezing on me. Also I'm unable to create a new intake appointment for EAP services.

TherapyNotes offers excellent value. The cost is reasonable for its wide range of features, great reliability and level of support are amazing. As the support staff respond promptly, are knowledgeable and genuinely want to help. The interface is very user friendly, with everything organized sensibly and easy to find, even for new team members. In short the platform is comprehensive and keeps improving with regular updates that genuinely enhance everyday workflows. The client portal is easy for clients to use and they rarely report issues.
Cons
For the most part, technical problems have been very rare,which is impressive given how many features the system packs. And whenever I ran into something over the years, it got fixed fast or was placed in their review queue. Sometimes I wish new features appeared sooner but the thoroughness and quality of their updates usually justify the wait.

My customer support representative went far beyond what I expected to resolve an issue I thought could not be fixed. I had spent hours toggling between TherapyNotes and Medicaid, completely baffled about why a payer wasn't reimbursing me. But the support team set aside extra time from an already full workload to troubleshoot with me and suggest practical solutions. They showed outstanding customer service, stayed calm and patient, listened with real empathy and didn't end the call until a clear plan was in place. Their level of support alone is a major reason I'll keep my subscription. And I sincerely hope the company recognizes and rewards them for this level of service. I really appreciate the help so thanks so much!
Cons
The only problem is that the monthly price goes up each year. As someone who renews an annual plan, I believe therapists who stick with the service year after year should receive some kind of financial incentive to renew their subscription.

The price is reasonable too and the suite of features you get is surprisingly comprehensive for the cost. Their customer support stands out with short wait times, real people who are friendly and helpful and they consistently follow up whenever anything is needed.
Cons
I have not been dissatisfied with the product for my needs. Any small problems I've run into have been addressed promptly and more often than not the issue was due to user error on my end rather than a flaw in the software.

For our team, TherapyNotes worked really well because it offered features like appointment scheduling and appointment note-taking. Plus I found the interface easy to use. It also supports filing insurance claims and gives a clear and concise billing overview.
Cons
While the application does a lot, several areas could be improved. Our team found that certain features could not be customized for specialized documentation which limited our workflows. The base pricing is affordable but paying extra to unlock other necessary functions felt inconvenient and added unexpected cost. The mobile app works for basic tasks, but to get a full overview and manage everything, I still needed to use the website making the app feel somewhat redundant and not very useful for complete on-the-go management.

I liked the refreshed user interface. It looked great and made finding things pretty easy. Plus the system's structure helped me keep patient records organized and up to date.
Cons
We frequently ended up building our own forms and documentation since the platform is primarily geared toward Mental Health therapy, while our practice mainly offers Speech Therapy services. Then when we expanded to include another discipline called Occupational Therapy the billing processes became chaotic. It turned into a real challenge to maintain distinct, accurate accounting records for each discipline and keeping them separated and easy to track was especially hard.
