“Not that great
Pros
It seemed like a good purchase at the time, especially when combined with the PMR side. However, the PMR side is not very intuitive.
Cons
The support has been lacking. We have to submit a ticket for everything. Why can't we speak to someone immediately, especially when we can't log in? We get kicked off the server a couple of times a week, which is very frustrating.

“Terrible EHR. One of the worst on the Market
Pros
It's difficult to think of any "pros" for this EHR. The one feature I did like in the three years I used it was the ability to "hide" a task and have it reappear on a specific date. So if I wanted to remind my nurse to call a patient in two weeks, it would "hide" it for two weeks and then show up in her inbox instead of cluttering it the entire time.
Cons
There are so many issues. While writing a note, you're in one screen. To access the rest of the chart, you have to close that screen, exit the note, go into the chart, find the section you want, open the lab/imaging/consult/letter, review it, then close it, and go back into the note. Very much not intuitive. Clearly designed by programmers without physician input.

“Slow, slow, slow. Interface could be more user friendly.
Pros
The medication and pharmacy database is very comprehensive. The design is okay but sometimes requires too many clicks to get where you want to go.
Cons
The main complaint is the system's slowness. Some days are worse than others. It's also not very intuitive to navigate from point A to point B.

“Allscripts EHR and contracts.
Pros
I don't have a single positive word to say about it. Perhaps the best part is the support team from India, who often fix the problems.
Cons
It's not physician-friendly at all; it freezes almost daily, and customer service is terrible. If you're closing your practice, whether retiring or moving out of state, you still have to adhere to the termination date, paying upfront fees or keeping your license active and paying monthly fees for no reason. I regret signing up with this company. You pay a lot when signing the contract and even more when terminating it.

“EHR from hell!
Pros
You can create templates on the fly, have good electronic prescribing, and interface with labs. However, every system is complex.
Cons
Very slow, frequent freezes, and error messages. Poor customer support. Every update causes issues. After two years of use, it still creates a lot of extra work.

“Review of Allscripts EMR
Pros
I like that it auto-generates orders and requires a complete chart before submission. I also like that I can see patients from all offices.
Cons
Cannot navigate the chart (assessments to care plan) without completing the previous section. It doesn't calculate travel time correctly. You cannot select the branch on the visit, and some sections contain assessments not specific to hospice.

“EASILY NAVIGATE
Pros
You can connect with payerpath via Allscripts and run multiple ERAs simultaneously to maximize productivity.
Cons
Too many manual ERA postings, though the options to prevent automatic postings are great but should be more clearly defined.

“Lots of setup
Pros
There are many features and it comes with several reports right out of the "box." I also appreciate the ease of integration with third-party software.
Cons
This EHR has an overly intensive setup/customization process and too many templates, making data entry very time-consuming.

“I used it for two years and so called updates caused so many problems the company I worked for had to offer classes on how to use it all over again.
Pros
Laboratory results, problem lists, and medication lists were easy to print. It was easy to send notes to coworkers.
Cons
There are multiple places to enter ordered screens (like colonoscopies), but only one will appear on the dashboard. The program crashes frequently.

“Allscripts review
Pros
Availability of useful information. Signing up is quick and accessing sensitive data is well-protected.
Cons
Difficult to navigate and not interactive enough. It's often down for maintenance.

“Not up with the current times
Pros
Care plan charting, support team Sally Borel, our liaison. Clinicians do not need to be connected to WiFi to use the medication profile. It's more intuitive but still needs tweaking to be patient-friendly.
Cons
Not cloud-based. Need to sync to see documentation. Requires a server. Charges by license, not by census. Cannot use the software on any device. HHA care plan is not intuitive.

“Our expenses for a small medical practice were out of control with Allscripts.
Pros
There is nothing I liked about the company. I handle the bills for our company and every month I had no idea what I was paying for.
Cons
Every change incurs a long-term cost. The contracts are so heavily lawyered that they are impossible to exit. We just terminated our service after struggling with them since 2008. They were our first EHR company and now have billed us through 2026. I left a voicemail on Monday and, as of yesterday afternoon, it hadn't been returned. I sent an email yesterday about the bill with no response. I also left my cell number since I would be out of the office and have not heard from anyone regarding our bill. My practice is closing and reopening under a new name and tax ID, and I'm unsure how to handle their bills for the next nine years.

“Are you kidding me?
Pros
Absolutely nothing. There was never anything good. The only reason I stayed with them as long as I did was due to the initial investment in time and money, which made me feel obligated to continue.
Cons
I don't know where to start. I used it for several (5-6) years and got so frustrated with constant "upgrades" that erased all the templates I'd spent hours compiling. Customer service was a joke. I finally switched and now get EMR and office management/billing support for less than half of what Allscripts charged annually. The only problem is that I ended my Allscripts subscription in 2013 and am still getting bills. Got one again today, prompting me to write this review for services from June 2017 to June 2018, even though I terminated the service in 2013. This is a clear example of how on top of things they were when I was actually using their services.

“Allscripts review
Pros
Simple to operate and compatible with Dragon software. I appreciate the macros templates that can be generated as they save a lot of typing.
Cons
It's slow and unstable, often randomly kicking me off. There's a lot of clicking required. The ICD 10 choices are poor and the descriptions conflict with provider codes versus ICD 10 billing codes.
