Key Takeaways

Generated from the text of customer reviews

PeopleSoft helps organizations manage HR, supply chain, and finance related businesses. It is mainly used by large enterprises and government agencies as well as healthcare systems and higher education institutions. Users value its enterprise functionality and reporting tools along with its ability to support large organizations. Common complaints focus on its older interface and usability issues. The new PeopleTools 8.63 adds Semantic Search and Typo Tolerance to PeopleSoft Search. It can understand the meaning behind a search query and still return results when the query contains spelling mistakes.

Our Verdict

PeopleSoft is designed for organizations that need a combined HR and financial management system with supply chain or education functions. It works well for mid-sized and large enterprises as well as public institutions with compound operations in several departments. Licensing is usually custom priced and can be expensive for starters. The software offers long-term value through ongoing updates and scalability while Oracle continues to support existing PeopleSoft customers.

excellent for bigger companies

Pros

As someone working at a big firm I find this tool effective for enterprise use and very easy to use. My team relies on it mainly for audits and compiling reports.

Cons

It feels somewhat dated to me. There are newer apps that do similar things and I can tell my company is beginning to move away from it.

Very complicated

Pros

I get nothing out of it. It is painfully hard to use and I find the interface completely unusable on mobile devices.

Cons

Honestly everything about it frustrates me. If I had the option to move to a different HR management tool, I'd plead for that change and fight hard to make it happen.
