Pros

As someone working at a big firm I find this tool effective for enterprise use and very easy to use. My team relies on it mainly for audits and compiling reports.

Cons

It feels somewhat dated to me. There are newer apps that do similar things and I can tell my company is beginning to move away from it.

The value for money is outstanding especially compared to other options I've tried. Customer service has been phenomenal....always responsive and genuinely helpful. And the ease of use? It's simply in a league of its own. I honestly couldn't ask for a better combination of affordability, support and simplicity.

My only real con is that I've heard salespeople using fairly aggressive and possibly unethical tactics. Those kinds of concerns have been cropping up in conversations I've had.

Pros

I've relied on it as the backbone of our system for over fifteen years now. Beyond handling student-facing portals, it also manages HR functions for us. In our experience it adapts well to a university environment and has proven to be dependable and stable.

Cons

Using it does involve a noticeable learning curve and some of the routes to certain pages aren't particularly user-friendly. Thankfully the favorites feature is handy and helps workaround those awkward paths. I've noticed occasional service interruptions when traffic spikes often when well over twenty thousand people are trying to access the system simultaneously. Since I don't have insight into how our setup is architected it's quite possible these outages stem from our local servers rather than PeopleSoft itself.

I'm really impressed with the wide range of features and how convenient they feel to use. The interface makes everyday tasks simple. Someone with any level of experience should be able to use it without trouble.

Overall I don't have major complaints about the product although if pressed to mention something it would be the sheer number of choices presented which can feel a bit overwhelming at times.

Honestly everything about it frustrates me. If I had the option to move to a different HR management tool, I'd plead for that change and fight hard to make it happen.

Customizing the system takes a lot of time and effort and the way the information is presented isn't always easy to understand.

From the way our company had it configured I wouldn't call it the top HR solution as there are definitely superior alternatives. Still we rely on it as a global platform across the US, Canada and India. Since this was my first time working with it, compared with systems like SuccessFactors I personally found it somewhat more complex to handle. That said a lot of that complexity might come down to how our instance was set up rather than the software itself.

Cons

My main issue is reporting and updates as the process feels fiddly. For example if I try to upload backdated changes but there's already an entry with a later effective date, I have to remove that later line before the upload will go through. That makes routine updates more tedious than they should be.

It's a powerful platform that handles extremely large numbers of transactions without breaking a sweat.

The interface feels uninspired and disconnected from the way normal business transactions flow.

Using it feels quite easy. The site is very user-friendly and works across many devices without a hitch. I really like the animated icons, the clear step-by-step walkthroughs for enrolling in health benefits and the simple direct deposit setup process.

I use this product for everything from running reports to entering contracts. It really supports how our organization operates. When I run queries, it helps me hit targets and track progress. I also rely on the 'favorites' feature since it gives me fast access to the tools I use most often.

For me the main drawback is that finding a new tool or an unfamiliar option can feel somewhat clunky and time-consuming. If it had a modernized search or discovery feature, I believe it would make the system easier to use and greatly boost overall accessibility and day-to-day usability.

When all is said and done I find that it actually delivers on what it promises so I suppose that's a definite plus.

It is far from the most attractive or user-friendly system I've dealt with and it can easily demand a lot of clicks before I finally figure out where to go.
