advanced job cost reporting system

Pros

Switching from Sage 100 to Viewpoint felt like moving light years ahead for me. I now have excellent visibility into job costs even down to invoice attachments. Reporting stands out as a major strength since I can pull data on nearly every part of a job even at a detailed level. The AP automation with AI has significantly accelerated our entry process and I appreciate how the built-in approval workflows allow invoices to be reviewed instantly. This has helped me close month-end much faster. I also value how customizable the system is, with options to add fields buttons and reports that better fit our needs.

Cons

One drawback is that the software does not come with enough built-in financial statement reports. We were able to address that by using Insight Software's Spreadsheet Server but that comes with an added cost. On top of that, you also have to buy a license for consultants if they need access to the system in order to create custom reports.

tough configuration usability issues

Pros

There is a lot of flexibility in this ERP and I find it offers plenty of options to adapt the system to specific business needs. The customization capabilities are definitely one of the stronger points in my experience.

Cons

The way employee roles, security, jobs and similar settings are configured is confusing. Several modules could be redesigned to work more efficiently because there are far too many clicks involved. Support is also extremely slow and when replies do come by email, the explanations can be cryptic and written more for technical staff than actual users. Pricing is very high for the different role levels we need and when we moved to the cloud, the cost doubled despite it being called an upgrade. Creating custom reports is very difficult and the reporting UI in TC1 feels underwhelming. AP Automation also does not function like true AI as promised, we were told it would learn invoice details but after more than a year, it still has not learned much, if anything. Another major gap is that there is no place to enter a job number during the initial entry which is a significant oversight.

Controlled batch approval reporting system

Pros

Being able to customize reports, tailor programs and build dashboards is a big plus for me. I also appreciate that all data moves through a batch process with approvals before posting which gives me a strong sense of control.

Cons

Ever since Trimble acquired this tool, the user management and login process has become much more complicated. Then in March 2026, they forced everyone onto a named-user system. Our company had been using shared logins and we were basically left to figure it out on our own without enough time to prepare or make the transition properly.

Declining support response experience

Pros

It ties in well with operations and I find the range of features especially useful, particularly the equipment module and fixed asset functionality.

Cons

Support has been a real disappointment. When we first rolled the software out, it provided much better service but that has noticeably declined over the past year. Every time a ticket is submitted, there's an email warning about longer-than-usual wait times and that has been happening for months. Even when someone finally responds, they often still can't resolve the issue.

poor customer support experience

Pros

Once I became familiar with how the system works, I found it quite easy to use. Overall I see that it runs well and includes all the features we need.

Cons

Customer support is seriously lacking. It often feels impossible to get real assistance and most of the time I end up researching and fixing issues on my own instead of getting help from a representative.

outdated unreliable system

Pros

We chose this software mainly for its job costing features and I was particularly interested in how it integrates with Procore.

Cons

Unfortunately, the interface feels buggy and outdated and the reporting tools are pretty limited. There also seem to be plenty of glitches throughout the system. On top of that, whenever we reach out by phone or chat for support, the response time averages around 30 days which is unacceptable. The Procore integration is inconsistent as well so we're always dealing with problems. I honestly would not recommend this product to anyone I care about.

efficient accounting invoice tool

Pros

It works well for both first-time users and experienced users and I have found that once accounting and reporting are properly set up, I can enter and retrieve information very efficiently. I also appreciate how easy it is to send invoices directly to customers.

Cons

Customer support can sometimes leave a case sitting in the queue for quite a while before responding and when they do, it may feel like they just point you to a knowledge base article even though you already checked it and needed more direct assistance.

Fast module navigation

Pros

Getting around the modules is easy for me and I find there are plenty of reporting options available. Reports generate quickly and I can export them without much effort.

Cons

Users can't customize reports on their own since any changes have to be handled on the back end. Also, when reports are exported to Excel, the formatting comes out messy.

feature rich system

Pros

Plenty of features are included and I find the overall setup simple and easy to navigate. I also value how customizable the system is.

Cons

There's almost too much information to sort through and it can be hard to tell similar reports or programs apart. It would be really helpful to have the option to add notes next to specific programs or reports to keep everything organized.

Steep learning curve & complex workflows

Pros

There is a lot packed into this system and I have found it dependable overall. It offers a wide range of functionality and I have only found a few minor issues.

Cons

At the same time, it feels pretty buggy and definitely takes time to learn especially when it comes to change orders and billing. I'd probably need more training to really understand and use more of the features.

Strong financial integration

Pros

Job Cost and WIP are very great and I have seen that once everything is set up, employees can enter daily production activity with minimal mistakes. I find it connects financial data with project activity effectively making things easier for both accounting and project teams.

Cons

At the beginning, it can take some trial and error especially when setting up rules and limitations across different departments. Building reports and charts exactly the way you want also requires some coding knowledge for the best results.

Invoicing usability needs to be improved!

Pros

One thing I really appreciate is how secure the site feels and I find certain applications make data entry very simple. I have also had a great experience with customer support whenever I needed help.

Cons

Invoicing and payment side could be improved by offering a more user-friendly invoice setup screen.

customizable backend enterprise system

Pros

Having access to the backend SQL database, along with the ability to customize front-end fields and tables, made a big difference for me. Once I became comfortable with the backend, I was able to tailor the system much more closely to our needs.

Cons

One frustration has been the gap between the online web portal and the core desktop system. On top of that, the product still lacks true API endpoints and the authentication and login workflow could definitely use improvement.

Easy to use daily business tool

Pros

Starting out with this software did not take much effort for me and I find using it daily very easy. Even team members who are not very comfortable with computers have been able to use it without much trouble which I see as a big advantage.

Cons

The downside is that the implementation takes quite a while and there's a large amount of information that needs to be entered right at the beginning.

Detailed reporting !

Pros

One of the best parts for me is the level of detail the software provides, along with the huge number of reports available. I also appreciate that I can use SQL within the platform to build reports or run queries which adds a lot of flexibility.

Cons

Customer support is frustratingly slow. At times even issues flagged as urgent can end up taking weeks before they're resolved.

Poor system integration challenges

Pros

It offers a lot of customization and I have found the move to the cloud to be a big improvement compared with Prim.

Cons

At the same time, it does not integrate well with other systems. It is very difficult to work with and system integration has been a constant challenge for us.

Customizable data reporting platform

Pros

This software has been genuinely valuable for me in managing data and information services. I find the reporting very detailed and the wide range of customization options makes it highly adaptable.

Cons

For a business our size, the cost felt too high. On top of that, building custom documents like contracts, RFPs and invoices was awkward and time-consuming and we had to rely heavily on customer support to get it done. Having to buy the different modules separately also made the overall pricing feel even more expensive for our company.

Worst software experience ever

Pros

At least shutting it down is simple and honestly, I feel that is the only positive aspect I can point out.

Cons

Up to this point, there is nothing about it that I have liked. I have a lot of experience with this kind of software and this is easily the worst one I have ever had to work with.
