Plex Asset Performance Management Features
Real-Time Visibility
This feature captures live sensor inputs, machine states, PLC events, error codes, and part information to deliver an immediate view of plant-floor conditions. It helps teams understand equipment behavior as it happens, enabling faster responses, reduced downtime, and greater operational awareness across production lines.
Contextual Traceability
The platform unifies disconnected data sources into a single, contextualized environment, helping teams understand why performance issues occur and what processes were affected. This consolidated perspective improves root-cause analysis, supports informed decision-making, and strengthens the organization’s ability to maintain consistent production quality.
Preventative Data And Trends
The system stores historical equipment data and applies trend analytics to expose emerging issues and long-term performance patterns. These insights support predictive maintenance strategies by highlighting failure-causing conditions early, helping manufacturers prevent unexpected breakdowns and plan maintenance activities with greater accuracy.
Built-In Analytics
Plex APM applies configurable analytic rules and event-based logic to evaluate machine behavior against operational expectations. When abnormalities arise, the system sends targeted notifications to guide corrective action. This analytical oversight helps ensure equipment runs at optimal performance and reduces the likelihood of costly machine failures.

“shop floor visibility done right”
Pros
During the nearly three years I worked at a company supplying parts for MAZDA TOYOTA, this software played a big role in our daily operations. We used it to keep safety and quality sheets organized and it gave us a clear view of what was happening in the Stamping and Weld Cells. It tracked downtime, showed how many coils were being cut and let us see the number of parts being stamped and welded. We also relied on it to print labels for each container. On top of that it told us exactly where containers needed to be stored and where to find them when needed.
Cons
The biggest hassle came whenever the platform went offline because we had to handwrite labels ourselves and that took a lot of extra time. There were also times when the inventory count shown in the app didn't match what was actually in storage.

“plant data available at a glance”
Pros
Across the plant, the data we collect is very simple to access, review and work with.
Cons
We're using Plex's older, lower cost version so I'm sure the newer software includes additional features that would be nice to have.
