“highly reliable with great customization”

Pros

The functionality has been genuinely strong, with plenty of customization options and it's been very reliable overall. Even when I'm doing more specific setups, everything holds up nicely.

Cons

There's definitely room for improvement on the UI side, it could be more polished and friendlier to use. I also ran into a few small glitches, like formatting quirks (for example, not being able to use ampersands and semicolons properly).

“real-time updates help alot”

Pros

Bigwave feels pretty easy to use and the real-time updating feature is a big plus.

Cons

I wish it allowed invoice line editing while updates happened automatically, without needing to keep going in and out of the invoice.

It's easy to use and really simple to navigate. There are also some small improvements that could be added later, assuming the team agrees they'd be helpful.

Since it's still fairly new for me in the company, I'll need a bit more time to fully get settled and feel confident with answering everything.

“solid onboarding setup at work”

Pros

The system was already set up when I started my new job which made getting going a lot smoother. Learning the basics didn't take long and I was up to speed fairly quickly.

I don't really have enough familiarity with the software yet to point out any clear downsides or negatives.

Pros

Using it overall feels easy and they're quick to adapt when customer needs come up. It's a solid way to keep communication flowing within the team across different projects and work orders and it does a good job of keeping everything organized.

Cons

A few parts of the system load noticeably slower than other pages... our quote/invoice tabs are a good example. When templates need minor tweaks, those changes often have to go through this tool which can feel like overkill for something small. It'd be much better if we could make certain adjustments ourselves on the spot. There's also some extra copying and pasting involved between areas... for instance, line items in the Invoice tab sometimes need to be reflected in the Supplier Purchase Orders tab (and vice versa). Because the software is customizable, the overall look and navigation can feel a bit choppy. Lastly, when the comments section gets long, it would be helpful to have a quick "jump to top" button so you're not scrolling forever.

“Great deployment management”

Pros

We used this to handle deployments for several major systems across the country and it worked flawlessly. Customization options were excellent and the customer support was top, notch. With a large number of users and a broad mix of skill levels, the onboarding was quick and it took very little training to get everyone comfortable with the app flow.

Cons

There aren't really any complaints here. It handled its job and did it well. We also didn't have to adjust our existing processes much to make the software fit which was a nice surprise.

“user friendly!”

Pros

This software feels a lot more user friendly now. When we started using it around 2005, a lot of people avoided it because it wasn't really easy and it ate up far too much time for tasks that should've been simple. The difference today is dramatic, we're using it every day for basically everything project-related.

Cons

It can still get a little tiring at times because there are a lot of data entry points especially when you need to assign multiple resources during a single session.

“strong project tracking and sharing”

Pros

Global calendar makes scheduling across everything much more manageable. I also like that you can upload and share documents right in the workflow and the site status tracking is helpful for keeping projects aligned.

Cons

One sticking point is that the data you enter isn't locked down. It would be really useful if the app could prevent people from revisiting project custom fields and accidentally changing information later on.

“hard to scroll through”

Pros

Notifications are the best part... there really shouldn't be any minimum or limit on what you can include here since that's the section I care about most.

Cons

Scrolling is frustrating. It doesn't show everything in one view so you can't take everything in at a glance. I end up having to tap and drill down just to capture the full details I need.

Pros

Reporting is really solid when you're trying to pull up specific project details. I also appreciate having the Standard Metrics and the billing information available in the same place. One question came up for me though, why do the Standard Metrics require entering minutes instead of hours? Is that just how this was set up for our request or is it the default setup across the system?

Cons

Adding multiple images can get a bit annoying. During drag-and-drop into Big Wave, it sometimes freezes and doesn't upload all of the files so I end up having to add the images in smaller batches.

“dashboards are clean”

Pros

This tool has been really solid for site and system migrations. The reporting and dashboards are genuinely helpful and I especially like being able to view details per site and then have those roll up into higher-level views.

Cons

It doesn't feel very well suited for projects outside site/system migrations. I'd love more customization options or the ability to design it for other types of work, rather than it being so focused on its current use cases.

Being able to customize BigWave on the fly has given us the flexibility and scalability we need something we just haven't seen in other options.

Pros

Flexibility is the standout here and it's built as an all-in-one platform. Since it's web-based, I don't have to deal with installs or setup hassles and the functionality feels genuinely strong and dependable.
