“Exceptional tracking”
Pros
Vehicle tracking worked exceptionally well, the app was very user-friendly and the installation process was quick and hassle-free.
Cons
We were using an older version of the system so ours felt a bit outdated. They've made upgrades since then and we're hoping to move to a newer version soon.

“Live tracking”
Pros
Real-time location tracking and the Diagnostic Trouble Codes make it much simpler for me to locate a vehicle and get problems fixed faster.
Cons
The website updates have made navigation more frustrating. Finding trip history now takes a few extra clicks compared to before.

“Includes endless integrations”
Pros
Geotab has been a really powerful platform for us. The range of uses and integrations feels almost unlimited and the interface is simple enough that it's quick to learn and start using.
Cons
Their third-party reseller model is a problem since it often feels like we're being sold something. It would be better if Geotab was more directly involved themselves.

“best ELD compliance tool”
Pros
Hands down this is the best transportation safety compliance software I've used for ELDs, live tracking and a lot more. You're going to love it. The ELD logs are color-coded and highlighted so violations are very easy to spot at a glance. It makes managing drivers and the entire fleet simple and the pricing is better than what competing products offer.
Cons
I love everything about Geotab.

“Less polished than Samsara”
Pros
Compared with our current provider, Samsara, Geotab came with lower upfront costs while still covering a lot of the same functionality. If you're comfortable with tech, it's a dependable and scalable option especially for smaller fleets. We didn't run into any major hardware or software problems and the GPS tracking stayed accurate and reliable the whole time.
Cons
Geotab handled the core functions well but Samsara felt much more optimized and simplified which mattered a lot for running our large fleet of independent contractors. With Geotab, we often needed extra setup, third-party plugins or separate apps to do things that Samsara includes natively. For instance, Samsara puts ELD, DVIR, dispatch and document submission into one driver app that's simple to use, while Geotab depended on multiple apps. That modular setup does give Geotab more flexibility but it didn't have the all-in-one simplicity we were looking for. The interface also felt a little less accessible and somewhat glitchy which made it harder for both our dispatchers and drivers to use efficiently. The best comparison I can make is Android versus Apple: Geotab offers more control and customization, while Samsara feels more polished and user-friendly. For our team especially dispatchers and drivers, that usability difference had a real impact on everyday operations though others may feel differently depending on their needs.

“remote vehicle updates”
Pros
I like that keeping up with fleet vehicle maintenance is handled really well and changes can be pushed remotely to the vehicle very quickly.
Cons
The updates tend to be very large so the changes can feel drastic. Because of that, it takes time to adjust and get used to a whole new way of doing things.

“one dashboard for everything”
Pros
Having everything happening across our fleet in one dashboard made a big difference right away. The real-time tracking was especially useful and the reports gave us valuable insight into fuel consumption and driver behavior. It helped us make faster, smarter decisions with a lot more confidence.
Cons
At first the platform felt a little overwhelming because there are so many features packed into it. Some of the more advanced tools were a bit complicated so we had to spend extra time learning how they worked or reach out for help.

“Affordable ELD with TMS integration”
Pros
Affordable and dependable, with strong tracking and an ELD system that works well. Customer support has been solid and it connects nicely with our TMS software, dash cams and other tools.
Cons
There really haven't been any major issues. I'd absolutely choose it again as my first option for ELD and tracking software.

“live video feature”
Pros
Plenty of useful features are already built in and the live video plus dispatching tools make day-to-day operations much more manageable. It's also customizable enough to fit the way our business works instead of forcing us into a rigid setup.
Cons
To me the platform can feel a bit dated at times especially when compared with other products that already offer newer features.

“Unusable maintenance section”
Pros
Nothing positive comes to mind. In fact the beta version ended up increasing my workload quite a bit.
Cons
I find the Maintenance section very hard to use, with far too many steps involved and not enough editing features to make updates efficiently.

“inaccurate tracking”
Pros
Installing MyGeotab and getting it configured was pretty easy for me and the whole setup process was done in no time.
Cons
Lacks accuracy. I keep running into issues with the devices and they either stop working altogether or stay stuck without moving on the map.

There isn't much to praise here to be honest.

“early issue detection via engine data”
Pros
Having access to engine data and environmental monitoring helps us catch potential vehicle issues before they turn into major repairs. The platform also does a strong job of analyzing fuel consumption alongside driving habits, route planning and idle time, then turns that information into practical recommendations for reducing fuel use across the fleet.
Cons
When a lot of vehicles are clustered in one area especially in busy city centers, the map can occasionally freeze. There's also only limited flexibility when it comes to customizing content in automated report templates and a few features available on the desktop version are still missing from the mobile app.

“Limited functionality & support”
Pros
It's pretty user friendly and the driver app is simple to work with. It also helps that our drivers don't have to enter the same information again every day which saves time and cuts down on repetitive tasks.
Cons
There's no integration available and there isn't an app for carriers. Tracking can also be delayed at times and customer service not being available on weekends is inconvenient.

“reliable asset tracking”
Pros
Keeping track of my assets with MyGeotab is very simple and the platform has been consistently reliable for us without any glitches.
Cons
What I don't enjoy is looking up addresses or checking how far a technician is from the destination. That information feels tucked away and harder to use than it should be.

“Camera issues and weak support”
Pros
The telematics side works really well in my opinion and the data analytics are an outstanding asset to have.
Cons
There are constant problems with the cameras going online and offline, failing to record, taking too long to load, switching between vehicles and cameras and sometimes being completely unreachable. On top of that, customer service has been poor.

“powerful fleet insights”
Pros
Geotab stands out to me because it brings together a very complete yet user-friendly fleet management platform. The real-time analytics, flexible reporting options and strong integration capabilities make it incredibly valuable for improving fleet operations and boosting overall efficiency.
Cons
It can be frustrating getting around some of the more advanced features. The platform is definitely powerful but new users may face a fairly steep learning curve and it can take extra time to fully understand and make the most of everything it offers.

“Multilingual support”
Pros
What I really appreciate about Geotab is the wide range of support resources they provide for users and the fact that they're available in different languages makes a big difference. It helps a lot when it comes to understanding certain features better and also makes it easier to share that information with different clients.
Cons
With the newer updates I'd still like to see improvements around maintenance and asset specifications especially the ability to display more detailed information within a single window.
