“accurate Google-based routing”

Pros

It builds on Google which is a big plus. Routes can be emailed straight to drivers and the integrated app makes that especially convenient. It's also refreshingly simple and doesn't try to fix problems that aren't there. It focuses on optimizing multiple stops and it does that really well. Perfect.

Cons

Since all of our deliveries happen in NYC, we deal with a lot of toll bridges and tunnels, plus very dense, tightly packed routes. Because of that, we'd really, really like two added options: first, a way to avoid tolls and second, the ability for the Start Point to be based on the "Quickest" or "Shortest" choice instead of only "Furthest" or "Nearest".

“route optimization falls short”

Pros

Hands down the mobile app is the best part. Every other app I've tested feels really glitchy and I end up tapping through 5 different buttons just to move to the next stop. With this one it's much quicker. I just swipe down, tap the notification and continue. I also really appreciate being able to display all the stops on a map through the website then draw around them to select or delete them in bulk. And wile it excels at route execution and stop management its route optimization engine needs improvement for dense routes. Until then I'd suggest using it alongside a dedicated optimizer as a reasonable workaround rather than a replacement.

Cons

The route efficiency on the website falls short especially when working with 100+ stops that are close together. Just looking at the zigzag pattern on the map I can usually spot manual changes that save a lot of time. At this point I normally build the actual route in RouteXL, import it into MyRouteOnline and keep that order unchanged. With a better route setup I can usually save 1-2 hours over the course of a full day.

“Efficient routing”

Pros

Being able to upload addresses and let the software figure out the most efficient routes has been something we've really appreciated.

Cons

One thing we'd still like to see is a way to split lists inside a master list so specific areas can be defined for route optimization instead of having to choose from every address in the full master list.

“practical tool that saves a lot of time”

Pros

A really practical and convenient product overall. It's an excellent tool that saves us many, many hours and has become very useful in our workflow.

Cons

At times, it doesn't perform quite as well when we load too many addresses at once.

“address changes happen without notice”

Pros

Rock-solid performance is a big advantage here since it doesn't crash or throw errors often. Building new routes and adjusting existing ones is very simple and the block stop editing feature is especially useful. The import process is intelligently designed and the final outputs come out clean and well formatted. Overall it's a dependable tool.

Cons

While software is generally dependable it isn't completely error-free. The automatic routes it generates usually aren't exactly what we end up using. We typically spend a bit of time adjusting around 20% of the route and then fine-tuning it further. Thankfully route editing is simple and very hard to mess up. It also occasionally changes an address without notifying us. Most of the time it switches to the address we actually want but every now and then it sends us somewhere different. That can totally throw off our day. Another minor frustration is the 240-character limit error during imports. It would be much more helpful if the system pointed out which specific line or lines are causing the issue.

“outstanding support and solid value”

Pros

A lot of people tend to focus on how simple it is to use or the route planning features but for me the standout was the customer support. That was the part I appreciated most.

Cons

We did discuss adjusting the software to better match the way we handle our logistics but honestly that went beyond what the platform is designed to do and was something our own internal solution could handle better. Even with that limitation, I still think it delivers good value for the money.

“faster dispatch training”

Pros

Uploading a runsheet spreadsheet was easy and it helped me keep my staff's runs in the right order. I also relied on it when training new drivers and it cut down the time needed quite a bit.

Cons

Every now and then the optimized route wasn't actually the best option although making manual adjustments was simple enough. After reaching one stop I had to exit Google Maps on my phone and return to the app to load the next address though that may have been user error on my part.

“iphone-friendly routing”

Pros

It was simple to work with and very iPhone-friendly. No matter which delivery driver or service we used, they were able to understand it without trouble. We were managing a very large route with several hundred stops and MyRoute had no issue mapping out the quickest and most efficient way to get around town.

Cons

The addresses didn't transfer perfectly into Apple Maps which was inconvenient.

“Cuts planning from hours to minutes”

Pros

Hours of planning have been cut down to just minutes with this. I can paste in an address list or just type in the people I need to visit and it handles the rest. It's simple, quick and really efficient. If the goal is to work smarter instead of harder I'd absolutely recommend MyRoute!

Cons

For companies like ours that operate on a pay-as-you-go basis the pricing could be a bit more reasonable.

“Good for routing but the address cap is limiting”

Pros

After I got the hang of importing the addresses and cleaning up the ones that didn't match correctly, the site did a really good job building the routes we needed. The polygon feature was also very useful for outlining sections of a large metro area and splitting them up for multiple deliveries.

Cons

The 350-address cap ended up being a problem for our delivery operation because the addresses weren't evenly spread out by zip code. We had to break the delivery zones into smaller, tighter areas and do our best to keep them from overlapping too much.

“Kind of disappointing”

Pros

Their PayPal checkout is fast when I need something immediately. Because it runs in a browser, I don't have to deal with downloading any intrusive software. It helped me sort out a warehouse location on short notice while I was in a new city working around my clients.

Cons

On the surface the starting price looks decent but once I dug into the so-called benefits it felt more like a pay-as-you-go phone plan. One credit covers one address and you can only use that address once every 30 days. If I need to deliver to or service the same customer more than once in that time that setup just doesn't make much sense. The optimization was also disappointing. About 70% of the time the routes looked like directions a 10-year-old would give to the ice cream shop. I honestly got better directions from free Google Maps than from this. And as for customer support I'd rather not even get started.

“Fast daily performance”

Pros

The software runs quickly when we use it day to day. The customer service and technical support have also been excellent whenever we've needed help. On top of that it offers very good value for the money.

Cons

It needs an invoicing feature. We'd really like to see a system added at some point that can send invoices to us automatically.

“very poor route planning”

Pros

Their feature set and pricing looked right for us and since this is strictly route planning software, that was exactly what we were looking for. Or so we thought.

Cons

The route planning itself was so bad that we stopped using the software after it created the very first route. We tested several tools and some of them had their own problems but when a route planner struggles with planning routes, that's just hard to accept.

“responsive support handles island mapping issues”

Pros

Using it has been very simple. Whenever something comes up, their team helps right away. I'm not especially tech-savvy and in our area the routes sometimes need adjustments that I'm not very confident making myself. Since we have islands in our region the mapping can get a little confused at times. Even so all I have to do is ask for help and I get an immediate response. That fast support and their willingness to fix the parts I can't handle myself mean a lot to me and my company. We really couldn't manage our distribution without them. They've saved us a significant amount of time and money.

Cons

No problems so far.

“fantastic import wizard and setup”

Pros

Thanks to the step-by-step walkthrough and helpful pop-ups, set up was quite easy. In general I think the system is very simple to use and it gave me plenty of flexibility when working with an Excel spreadsheet. The import wizard was a standout feature especially being able to decide what the software should treat as usable content. That part was really impressive.

Cons

Printing maps and directions could be better. It would help to have options to adjust the font size and the map size since some directions and addresses end up looking crowded and running together.

“Settings adjustments take almost no effort”

Pros

I like that adjusting the settings takes almost no effort. I can export the results to a spreadsheet and also send them over to mapping software. It saves me a lot of time when I need to enter addresses while I'm out and about.

Cons

From time to time I run into a few glitches but they seem to be tied more to inaccuracies in Google Maps data than to the software itself.

“Consistent import export with daily route saves”

Pros

One thing that really works well is the way data can be imported and exported, including the ability to decide which portions to keep and which ones to leave out. Everything feels consistent and well organized and the save route feature is something we end up using every single day.

Cons

Occassionally the same group of three houses shows up in a different order the next week. It's not a major problem and only affects a small part of the route but it does happen.

“Pay-per-address units”

Pros

I like the clean, accessible interace and the fact that the routing tools save us a lot of time. It's really helpful that I can build routes either around time or by setting the number of routes. Since I only create routes in the spring and summer I appreciate being able to buy only the number of addresses I actually need instead of paying for units that would just sit unused. The purchasing options for units work really well for the way I use the software. Technical support and customer service have been exceptional. They're responsive, accurate and consistently helpful. The team absolutely rocks.

Cons

Only thing I have to watch for is how the software tries to balance route times. Every now and then it will send someone with a shorter, tightly grouped route from one side of town all the way to the other so I need to catch that before finalizing things.

“Gives efficient routes”

Pros

This software takes something pretty complicated and simplifies it a lot on my side. The routes it builds are impressively efficient and whenever I try to adjust them based on what seems like common sense, the original version usually turns out to be the better one.

Cons

When I export a route to Excel, the format doesn't match the one needed for importing and thats very annoying. Because of that, I have to reformat the file if I want to bring a set of addresses back in to create a new route.
