“Wide range of useful functions”
Pros
It came with a lot of useful functions that were simple to work with and the security features were a big plus. I especially appreciated the YubiKey support and biometric login because they made access feel much more secure.
Cons
If the login credentials were entered incorrectly, the account would get locked. As an employee, that meant I had to go through the process of getting my account reset.

“Superb electronic filing system”
Pros
What I appreciate most about it is that it works as an electronic filing system and gives me one central place to store different documents.
Cons
When it comes to project management, it doesn't feel very user friendly. That said, I do appreciate having all my payslips in one place and updating personal information is simple.

“Incredible support”
Pros
Using it has been a very positive experience especially because it's so simple to work with and the customer support has been excellent whenever needed.
Cons
At a large company scale, the part I liked least about it was having to handle such a massive volume of data.

“Handles large data volumes efficiently”
Pros
It does a really good job handling large volumes of data efficiently. It's also excellent when it comes to security, backup and recovery.
Cons
The licensing and maintenance costs are quite high. For some administrative tasks, we had to use Dropbox instead because it was simpler for everyone.

“Central hub for management functions”
Pros
It brings a lot of management functions together in one place, letting us handle ordering and payments alongside staff payroll.
Cons
Whenever an issue comes up, customer support usually helps resolve it. Because it's such a large suite, it can feel a bit overwhelming at first but it doesn't take long to get comfortable with the parts you actually need.

“Feels outdated”
Pros
This software works across a lot of different functions for us. In our organization, we rely on it for employee records, position management, learning, security and benefits administration so it supports several needs in one system.
Cons
At the same time, the platform we use feels pretty outdated. Compared with other options oracle comes across as less user-friendly and we've run into quite a few hiccups when accessing reports, pulling salary information and getting accurate data over time.

“Decades of powerful database features”
Pros
I've worked with it since 1994 across different operating systems and over the years its functionality has kept expanding. SQL Developer in particular has evolved into a very capable tool for database administration and for building PL/SQL programs. Another feature that matters a lot to me is the ability to run my own C/C++ programs directly inside the database core.
Cons
Setting up an Oracle database and keeping it updated on a regular basis is still quite a complicated process especially when you want to fine-tune the configuration for a specific use case. The licensing around certain components and add-ons can also be hard to understand and often feels expensive. On top of that, the interface for integrating custom C/C++ programs seems to have been neglected in recent years while Java has received more attention.

“fast queries and reliable reporting”
Pros
Queries run fast, it handles large volumes of data without trouble and setting up access control is pretty simple. Backups complete cleanly, exporting files is hassle-free and report generation stays dependable even during peak usage.
Cons
The configuration screens feel crowded with too many layers and the dashboard can become slow when usage is high. Some tools are buried deep in the menus which wastes time because they're hard to find and figure out.

“Impressive functionality”
Pros
It has been very stable for us and does a solid job of following standards. It also includes useful functionality for building optimized queries, along with strong analysis and performance capabilities that help a lot.
Cons
The biggest downside is the cost and the frequent updates mean you need to plan your overall infrastructure carefully to avoid issues.

“Powerful customization”
Pros
This tool gives a lot of flexibility when it comes to building and customizing databases. It lets you create the structure you need and features like triggers and database tuning help improve performance and make the system work better overall.
Cons
it depends on third-party tools like Oracle Loader in some cases. You also need to work with views and tables to retrieve data and the relationships between tables have to be carefully fine-tuned to keep everything working properly.

“Rock-solid once learned”
Pros
After spending some time getting familiar with it, I really came to value how stable it is. I never had to stress about random crashes or losing data and that was honestly a big relief during high-pressure projects.
Cons
Getting started took longer than I expected. Certain parts seemed more complicated than necessary and the documentation wasn't always very clear. Still, support helped me work through most of the issues I ran into.

“One of the strongest database platforms”
Pros
Very few databases, maybe IBM DB2 being one of them, offer this kind of capability. It has clearly benefited from years of development and the result is a genuinely powerful database that can handle very large volumes of data. I honestly don't think there's another database on the market that manages data at Oracle's scale while still keeping performance at such a high level. Another big plus is that it hasn't only focused on building one of the strongest database platforms available but has also invested in high-performance hardware. On top of that, the recent addition of artificial intelligence features inside the database engine makes it even more interesting.
Cons
Two issues with it are brought up all the time in the database community and I agree with both of them. The first one is the cost since Oracle licensing, training and consulting usually end up being more expensive than comparable alternatives. The second is the licensing model itself especially when trying to secure a new Oracle license. Oracle licensing is generally quite complex and during negotiations, having a lawyer involved is often necessary because the license terms can be difficult to interpret.

“handles massive datasets”
Pros
It handles massive datasets and demanding workloads really well which makes it a strong fit for enterprises with expanding data requirements. The platform is also known for being stable and dependable so it works well for mission-critical applications. On top of that, security is a big strength, with features such as encryption, auditing and role-based access control.
Cons
The biggest downside is the licensing cost especially for larger deployments or the enterprise editions. Even though it's powerful and packed with features, it usually comes with considerable extra expenses. Those costs can play a major role in whether organizations decide to adopt it or keep using it over time.

“All customer information in one place”
Pros
Having all customer information in one place was really convenient and the layout was simple to move through even as a beginner. That made learning the system much quicker and also helped a lot when it came to training new employees.
Cons
Visual design can be improved. The font could be larger, the interface could use a bit more color and the spacing could be opened up so it feels more visually appealing. After spending a few hours working in it, the small font started to cause slight headaches.

“feature-rich platform”
Pros
The software delivers strong performance and reliability. It also comes with a wide range of features and many of them are quite advanced.
Cons
The price is very high. Open-source alternatives like MySQL, PostgreSQL and MongoDB ended up being the reason to switch. On top of the cost, the software is very complex to use. And in the end, being tied to Oracle means there's not much flexibility for the company.

“Solid problem-solving database”
Pros
it can handle complex problems with surprisingly simple solutions. We've run into plenty of challenges and it still holds its own really well, even when compared with AI-driven solutions which is pretty impressive.
Cons
usability could definitely be improved but with the help of some add-ins and support tools for daily work, it can turn into one of the strongest options for managing your data storage needs.

“Precise data collection”
Pros
The data it collects is accurate and organized into meaningful tables which makes it very useful. It's also a highly customizable database and the ability to connect with other databases through APIs adds a lot of flexibility.
Cons
When compared with other databases on the market oracle DB feels a bit less user-friendly and not as refined. Using it fluently means having to remember the tools and icons inside the system. The built-in analytics are also somewhat limited unless you're willing to pay extra for additional analytics and BI features.
