“Live reporting elevated team coordination
Pros
I've finally been able to witness my team perform in ways I never thought possible before. I really value the live reporting especially the activity log which elevated our team's coordination to a level I did not expect. Overall the whole experience was genuinely rewarding and eye-opening showing me how well we can collaborate. That transparency made it much easier for me to spot our strengths and the specific areas where we need to improve.
Cons
The website feels cluttered and not very user-friendly which makes it pretty overwhelming to use. Also it is not easy to navigate and I often struggle to find what I am looking for without feeling frustrated.

“simple tracking with clear accountability
Pros
I like that I can break down activity both daily and by each person. I also enjoy using this system because it makes tracking and reviewing data incredibly simple and organized. Plus being able to view activity per person helps me clearly understand individual performance and accountability. The day by day view is extremely useful for daily monitoring while the weekly summaries let me spot trends and patterns over time. I also appreciate that it captures a lot of data including active and inactive activity which gives a fuller picture of what's happening. Overall this flexibility saves me time and makes managing data far more efficient.
Cons
I find the employee tracking system useful and full of detailed data but I sometimes struggle with navigation. Also some features are not as user friendly as they could be and I often spend extra time hunting for specific reports or information. Once I learn the layout, it offers valuable insights and tracking but the learning curve can be frustrating at first. So if navigation were improved and the design made more user-friendly, I think this system would become much more efficient and easier to use daily.

“Great tracking
Pros
All the information available allows me to track team activity and performance. As I like knowing who is working on what and when exactly.
Cons
Nothing major but if some of the features were more user-friendly then that would be great. For example I often end up hunting through several different menus and screens for things that would make more sense grouped together elsewhere.

“Reliable tracking with great aPI
Pros
Tracking works really well and seems very reliable. The Mouse Checker feature is also great and helpful in practice. I even like the API connections and how easy they are to use.
Cons
It can be really difficult to automate at times because even the rules or the API end up timing out or running into problems. And I find it takes ages to repair the tracking when anything goes wrong.

“provide clear visibility into team productivity
Pros
I can see which websites team members are visiting and track how much of their time is counted as productive. It is also convenient that I can filter by exact dates and time ranges to examine data for whole groups or individual people. I also pull weekly productivity comparison reports to identify trends.
Cons
Sometimes the dashboard highlights the single site a person spends the most time on but that could just be something running in the background, not actual work. When I check the detailed list of sites they visited, it does not always match the summary shown on the main screen.

“Offer accurate active time for transparency
Pros
What I find most useful about ActivTrak in our organization is how accurately it records active time for each user. That visibility makes it much easier for me to see how people are actually spending their workday which helps me spot productive trends, uncover bottlenecks and get a clearer sense of how workload is shared. Also the reports are presented in a simple, easy to digest way that makes it simpler for me to make data-driven decisions and keep improving performance. Because I can rely on these activity insights, I am able to fine-tune scheduling, distribute resources more sensibly and hold teams accountable. In short the active-time tracking has boosted transparency and overall operational efficiency for us.
Cons
From my perspective one drawback is the snapshot feature which often feels too limiting when I need deeper, more detailed monitoring. The intermittent screenshots give a general sense of activity but they frequently lack the context required to fully interpret what a user was doing during important tasks or when investigating potential security incidents. Without a real-time video option, I cannot review a continuous sequence of events or accurately reconstruct how something unfolded. Relying on periodic images instead of continuous recording makes it harder for me to analyze interruptions, dig into issues or confirm productivity patterns. So adding a video-based capability would make the monitoring much more effective for my needs.

“simple alerts and activity labeling
Pros
It is really simple to set alerts and it is equally easy to label activities as productive or unproductive.
Cons
When an alert goes off I cannot view live screenshots from users and I wish there were a way to watch video of what they were doing.

“essential for managing remote teams
Pros
I really like the detailed reports on time tracking and website usage. Overall this tool became essential for our team when we managed remote employees across the continental U.S. and South Africa.
Cons
Honestly having to commit to a one-year license was not my favorite. As we wanted the flexibility of a monthly plan or at worst the ability to renew every three months.

“excellent interface for data insights
Pros
We find the interface excellent for pulling out data and it makes it simple to quickly locate the information we need. We have also uncovered productivity insights that were not attainable before. It also has not caused any issues with our security software. Other vendors often forced us to constantly monitor and clear false alerts for potentially harmful apps.
Cons
I often have to delete extra users because they push me past our licensed user count. There are useful features I'd like but they are locked behind higher-tier editions instead of being included.

“Rising fees and everything else is bad too
Pros
It can detect mouse clicker activity used for cheating, offers category based alerts and captures event based screenshots.
Cons
Well I am very frustrated by the steadily rising licensing fees and the way the company keeps rolling out new capabilities only as paid add-ons instead of including them in any current plan. It feels like they tack on features behind a paywall and expect existing customers to pay more rather than simply improving the base product. I also find that the platform gathers an excessive amount of data that seems unnecessary almost like it's harvesting metrics just to assemble KPIs labeled as performance indicators. To me that comes across as a thinly veiled attempt to push customers toward a more expensive tier with extra-cost features. In practice the service needs constant, hands-on upkeep and frequently requires dedicated personnel just to keep it functioning. The agent installs are pretty unreliable in my experience and often stop reporting. Finally the cancellation and non-renewal process is awful as it is clearly made needlessly hard since you cannot opt out of renewal or cancel via the same dashboard where you manage payments and upgrades.

“makes it easy understand team work hours
Pros
ActivTrak makes it easy to understand how my team spends their work hours. Overall it's become a real help for monitoring productivity because we juggle a lot from office rentals to conference room bookings, customer support and other moving parts. The dashboard is also user friendly and the reports let me do spot checks and follow up without turning into a micromanager.
Cons
I have noticed it sometimes labels legitimate work as unproductive especially when team members use websites or tools the system doesn't recognize as work-related. Beyond that the cost can add up as the price jumps as you bring on more users which becomes noticeable for growing teams.

“Perfect for productivity snapshots
Pros
For keeping an eye on employee productivity and getting periodic snapshots of their workstations, I find this tool pretty perfect. As its reports give our leadership clearer signals about who we should be monitoring closely.
Cons
However the agent can be unreliable at times as I've noticed several installers go unresponsive and when that happens we often need an admin to step in and fix things manually.

“Useful to observe team activities
Pros
It was extremely useful to observe what kinds of activities people on my team were doing while they worked and to identify where team members were spending too much time in specific tools and programs.
Cons
The hardest part of rolling it out was needing to distribute it to every staff member and have them install it on their individual computers. This created pushback from people who felt uneasy about being monitored and it took considerable time and many conversations to get everyone to understand what we were trying to accomplish.

“makes it easy to track for targeted coaching
Pros
We can track productivity across both teams and individual contributors which makes it much easier for us to offer targeted coaching to help our employees improve.
Cons
Nothing too serious but having a number of different report versions is overwhelming. It often makes it confusing and time-consuming to pinpoint the exact metrics I need to measure.

“Great and offer detailed metrics
Pros
The metrics are excellent and detailed enough to give me a clear picture of an employee's day. Such as how they're working, what tasks they're spending time on and roughly how much time is allocated to each task, etc.
Cons
At this point I cannot really find anything that qualifies as a con as I genuinely don't see any issues to report right now.

“simple setup across PC and MaC
