“Not hard to put together a schedule
Pros
Putting together a weekly schedule only takes me a short moment. I also appreciate that it shows what payroll might cost for the week so I can plan without surprises.
Cons
I keep wishing we had a way to drop holidays into the system so that they show up on the schedule automatically.

“advanced features are expensive
Pros
Setting it up for weekly planning didn't take long. I can assign roles, add notes to each shift and save drafts for later. Editing works well on both my laptop and phone and posting or approving open shifts doesn't take much effort.
Cons
The pricing feels high for some advanced tools like checking who actually read a message. My team also struggles with setting their availability and sometimes the time?off section acts weird.

“notifies you about your off days
Pros
Appreciate that I can submit days off and get a reminder an hour before my shift so I don't forget anything.
Cons
I don't have any complaints because it works perfectly for organizing shifts.

“Helps me manage two restaurants
Pros
Running two restaurants used to feel overwhelming but Homebase keeps things more organized. It helps with scheduling and the task manager feature supports the busy day?to?day work we handle.
Cons
Everything has gone smoothly so far and we're honestly enjoying how well the software fits our needs.

“good experience spanning 8 years
Pros
Scheduling, notes and all the HR?related tools help us stay on top of things. We've been using it for eight years because it keeps our workflow simple.
Cons
The syncing with Toast isn't always reliable but outside of that, I don't really have anything else to point out.

“Excellent way to store data
Pros
It helps me keep all staff files and personal details in one place which saves me from sorting through different folders or apps.
Cons
There are times when exporting data feels complex and not as smooth as I want it to be.

“can copy past schedules
Pros
The feature I use the most is copying older schedules so I don't have to rebuild everything from scratch. It really speeds things up.
Cons
I get frustrated when shift trades don't go through. Sometimes the app makes it hard to find someone's name when trying to swap or cover a shift.

“all in one program
Pros
Having everything built into one program saves me a lot of time. At my old job I had to switch between multiple apps just to hire one person. Now I can handle schedules, onboarding and more without moving around.
Cons
Wish I could adjust someone's availability while I'm already looking at the schedule instead of backing out to a different screen.

“scales well
Pros
We suggest it to clients because it's quick to set up and keeps working well even when their business grows.
Cons
At times the system doesn't properly register when someone clocks in which causes problems with time tracking.

“well laid-out
Pros
The layout is simple for everyone whether they're managers or hourly staff. People can check shifts, clock in or out and submit time?off requests from their phones. Drag?and?drop planning, availability tracking and shift swaps help me create the weekly plan without stress. Chatting inside the app keeps everyone updated and the reports show labor costs in real time so I can stay on budget.
Cons
My team sometimes gets flooded with alerts even for tiny schedule tweaks or features we don't even use. It gets overwhelming. Another thing is the app doesn't work well without a solid internet connection so anyone in low?signal areas struggles to clock in or check their schedule.

“Useful integration with our clover POS system
Pros
One thing I really rely on is how smoothly it connects with our Clover POS. When we add someone in Clover, they can start clocking in and out right away. Their PIN at the register triggers the time punch so missed clock-ins don't happen often. It also keeps track of break times and makes handling tip payouts much easier for us.
Cons
Every now and then we run into issues when our POS loses connection or the internet drops. When that happens the info doesn't sync right away so we end up waiting for things to catch up.

“employees can request time off
Pros
Love seeing how shifts overlap during the day because it helps me plan better. I also appreciate being able to copy the same shift across multiple days. And having employees put in their own time?off requests saves me a lot of time.
Cons
I really wish I could assign the same shift to several people at once instead of doing it one by one.

“notifications don't go away at times
Pros
I really like that people can request days off and enter their availability directly in the app. It's also useful that everyone clocks in and out through the system.
Cons
I've noticed that some alerts stick around even after I open them which makes it look like I missed something when I didn't.

“accessible from anywhere
Pros
Love that I can use it anywhere. It fits well with how our operation runs and doesn't feel too much for us.

“free version has enough features for smaller teams
Pros
I appreciate that the free version includes enough tools for smaller teams that don't need advanced extras. I've been using it since 2018 and have recommended it to a lot of business owners who need scheduling and time tracking. My team checks their schedules, sends time?off requests and handles everything without trouble. It's simple and effective.
Cons
The pricing becomes a bit heavy when you need the full set of features. Between the base fee and the cost per person or contractor it can add up fast especially when certain contractors only work part-time or on short-term projects.

“Easy to handle
Pros
The best thing about it is how easy it is to work with. It keeps schedules, time tracking and team communication in one spot. Whether I'm at my desk or moving around, everything is within reach. The messaging feature keeps us connected in real time and it saves me a lot of stress. Works great for us.
Cons
I'm not a fan of the recent change to the time-off request setup. It doesn't send emails for requests anymore.

“allows staff to choose shifts
Pros
We use lots of features but the biggest help is being able to plan schedules early or post open shifts for the team to pick up. Because we work with seasonal staff who rotate every year, the geo?net that blocks off-site clock-ins has been a huge advantage.
Cons
Don't use every tool the app offers but some of my team has trouble figuring things out. There's so much on the screen that people who aren't into tech get overwhelmed. I also wish I had better control over how notifications work for each person because messages don't always get seen. And knowing how often my staff checks their phones, that's definitely a notification issue.
