“frustrating support and wasted calls”
Pros
At least the payments do get processed but beyond that there really isn't much to appreciate.
Cons
Trying to get past the phone tree and reach an actual person is almost impossible and even when someone finally answers, it often feels like you're speaking with a brand-new rep who cannot really help. Communication is made even harder when account numbers are misheard and the support staff seem to act only as a go-between for the tech team instead of solving anything themselves. I handle payroll for several clients across this company's different payroll products and not once have I been able to get someone on the phone quickly who could actually fix the issue without a struggle. At this point dealing with this company is something I genuinely dread and I'll be glad when a competitor replaces their products. I have worked with QuickBooks for 20 years and the decline in the company has been dramatic. Their customer service seriously needs to be fixed.

“imple payroll setup”
Pros
Adding a new employee in QuickBooks Payroll is one of the biggest advantages. You just enter their information and the setup is done without much effort. Another plus is how user friendly the whole system looks which makes it simple to use and hard to mess up when handling payroll tasks.
Cons
One downside is that because the system feels so simple, people can sometimes assume something works differently than it actually does and make mistakes. For example, removing an employee from payroll can be confusing at times.

“Taxes handled beautifully”
Pros
QuickBooks Payroll is very easy to use and it also takes care of our tax management which has been a big help.
Cons
Getting the categories and accounts set up does take a bit of effort at the beginning but once that part is done, everything runs very smoothly.

“reliable payroll with strong history”
Pros
There's definitely a learning curve at the beginning especially when setting up the tax lines for expenses, income, payroll and other categories but once everything is configured and you understand how it works, it's fairly easy to use. After getting familiar with the system and customizing the reports, it becomes a real time-saver and having access to data from past years is also very useful.
Cons
Report generation can become more complicated than it should be. If you rely only on the default QuickBooks report settings, you may not get the clearest or most accurate picture of the business so extra customization is often necessary. I also really dislike that a password is required on my own device. I'd rather have the choice to decide that myself. It's frustrating to keep logging into a device that only I use even with the 90-day setting in place because I'd prefer not to deal with that at all.

“fast with accounting sync”
Pros
Payroll gets calculated quickly and the interface with the general accounting system is really helpful.
Cons
A lot of time has gone into getting the product set up and working the way it should. On top of that customer support hasn't been very reliable since many of the service reps don't seem properly trained on the product and often have to pass information back and forth through chat or messages.

“powerful reporting and customization”
Pros
One of the best parts of QuickBooks Payroll is the reporting and export functionality. There are plenty of report options to choose from and it's simple to customize them to fit specific needs. Setting up new employees and entering initial data is also very easy thanks to the drop-down menus and custom fields.
Cons
The only downside is that it can be a bit pricey for a small business and the annual updates or renewals add to the overall cost.

“affordable payroll with helpful support”
Pros
Compared with other payroll platforms, the pricing here is very competitive. Help is also close at hand whenever it's needed since QuickBooks support is only a few calls away. Another plus is that you have the option to add Payroll to QuickBooks Desktop.
Cons
The downside is that Payroll is being discontinued for the desktop version.

“quick payroll after setup”
Pros
Once everything is finally set up, using it is pretty easy. Running payroll only takes answering a few simple questions so the actual payroll process is quick and manageable.
Cons
Getting it deployed is a real headache and the monthly cost hurts too. Paying $70 for something that used to be free a few years ago as a Bank of America customer on the Basic plan feels excessive. The rollout process and customer support are the biggest reasons I scored it lower. I understand the need for fraud protection and testing but their procedures can drag on for days. The verification steps feel never-ending... at some point it almost feels like they might as well ask for a blood sample.

“payroll time cut dramatically”
Pros
Before we brought this software in, payroll used to take about 6 hours every week to finish. Now it only takes 30 minutes to an hour which frees up my accountant to handle other tasks he never would have had time for before and that ends up saving me money.
Cons
There really isn't anything I dislike about QuickBooks Payroll.

Pros
Using it is very easy. The system guides you step by step and whenever I run into a question or need help, support is only a click away.
Cons
There's very little to complain about. One thing I do wish was better is being able to quickly locate and reprint past payroll documents. I am sure the option exists somewhere but I still haven't been able to find it.

“Runs on autopilot”
Pros
Getting started with it is pretty hassle free and whenever something isn't clear, customer support is there to walk you through it. After the payroll setup is finished, the process becomes largely automatic.
Cons
Using it day to day is fairly simple but the initial setup can be tricky. It's probably worth having QuickBooks help you get everything started especially since that's included with the subscription. Quite a bit of payroll still has to be handled manually, like entering hours, processing payments and tax filings and setting up garnishments. Personally, for a larger business, I'd probably recommend using a dedicated payroll service instead.

“powerful payroll insights”
Pros
One thing that really stands out is how it handles taxes while also offering multiple reports and feedback tools that give a much deeper view of our business performance. It covers all the core payroll tasks we need and even goes beyond the basics which makes it useful for evaluating much more than just payroll.
Cons
The only downside was that it took a bit of effort to train employees who weren't familiar with this kind of software since parts of it can feel a little complex at first.

“good for simple payroll”
Pros
It works pretty well for payroll especially for hourly or salaried employees in a single state. The system is simple to use and it's also easy to teach and roll out with new clients.
Cons
Once payroll gets more complicated, the setup becomes pretty hard too. Making changes to payroll or employee information is also difficult beyond the most basic edits and customer support is only okay and not particularly helpful.
