contractor payments made simple

Pros

Running a business means paying contractors quickly, professionally and without extra hassle and QuickBooks Payroll handled that very well. It gave me a easy way to onboard new contractors while also helping me stay organized with the ones already on my roster. Setting up banking details with my financial institution was not a problem too and the direct deposit setup for contractors was just as convenient.

Cons

Ithas been extremely efficient for what I need. Making sure bills and contractor payments go out on time is one of the biggest priorities in my business andthis softwarecovered everything I was looking for.

got too expensive

Pros

It integrated very well with our QuickBooks software and didn't take much effort to get up and running. Overall it's a great payroll choice for beginners and smaller businesses just getting started but we decided to discontinue.

Cons

The cost ended up becoming too high and the tax reporting was slightly inaccurate each quarter. On top of that customer support wasn't very responsive when we needed help.

support team proven very helpful

Pros

One of the best things about it is how helpful and responsive the customer support team is. Whenever an issue comes up, they consistently help resolve it. The software also feels very secure and dependable which really gives peace of mind when handling payroll. Pay stubs are conveniently available online so accessing them is simple. Payroll processing is very user-friendly overall and I rarely run into bugs or problems while using it. Considering the quality of the software and what it offers, it provides very good value for the money. I would definitely recommend it.

Cons

At times new updates can interrupt payroll processing a bit. That said the fixes are usually minor and sometimes allittakes is refreshingitto get everything working again.

everything in one place

Pros

Having everything for payroll in a single application was very convenient since I didn't have to switch over to any other software to get the job done.

Cons

The setup felt a bit confusing at first and took some time to get used to but once I understood howitworked, itwas really good.

Great fit for small teams

Pros

This software was pretty easy to use and it worked particularly well for running a small retail business with just a handful of employees.

Cons

Honestly I didn't run into any major downsides withthis software. That said I wouldn't recommenditfor a larger company sinceitseems better suited to small businesses.

friendly app for getting started

Pros

Setting up and using QuickBooks Payroll is very easy. Making updates is simple too and it's easy for employees to use when they need to enter their time. It's also a really amazing starter app.

Cons

One limitation is thatitdidn't handle multi-state payroll.Italso doesn't support Certified Payroll or Davis Bacon wages. On top of that customer support is only available by email so you cannot get someone on the phone when you need help.

updates proven useful

Pros

It has been part of our workflow for more than 9 years now and it has stayed simple and easy to use the entire time. They keep rolling out new features and options without charging extra which has been a big plus. It clearly shows what taxes will be deducted and the customer support has been excellent whenever needed. There's also a helpful employee-facing system that keeps staff informed and gives them quick access to their pay stubs. On top of that any bugs or issues tend to get resolved very quickly.

Cons

Honestly I don't really have any complaints. The program is very easy to work with and they usually seem to be a few steps ahead of anything I might think to suggest soit's hard to come up with something they still need to add.

Responsive customer care but tool not easy to use

Pros

This software really stood out to me for how available the customer support team was. I could get help fast whenever an issue came up and that level of assistance felt like a solid 10/10.

Cons

Usingitwas not very easy for me. I can usually pick up most software after a short training but this one was harder to learn and took more effort than I expected.

the right fit for us

Pros

I think this tool is very easy to use especially for anyone already working in QuickBooks. And the platform itself is simple to navigate which makes the payroll side feel familiar and user-friendly.

Cons

One downside is thatitdoes not work the same way as other payroll systems soitmay feel different at first if you are used to another setup. That saiditis still a much simpler system to use overall.

best support

Pros

Everything is quite efficient and easy to use. The team also gives timely guidance and is helpful when admin-related issues come up. Plus it is useful that they offer different levels of oversight.

Cons

We've run into a few administrative issues that we're hoping to sort out without needing any legal involvement. Another limitation is that the plan owner cannot override the main administrator unless the key passwords are provided.

everything is more manageable now

Pros

Having everything right at my fingertips makes payroll very manageable. It also works well for taxes and basic bookkeeping and it automatically tracks income, expenses and profit which saves a lot of time.

Cons

The reporting side could be clearer since the reports aren't always that simple to read. It's also tough to see the true profit for each vehicle or deal and custom reports take some setup before they're useful.

user-friendly tool for beginners

Pros

This accounting software is very amazing to work with. Overall I really enjoy using it and it's easy to learn even without any accounting background.

Cons

One downside is that reports can still be edited even after they're already completed. You also need to enter all the data yourself which takes more time. Another issue is that I wouldn't want to useitif my computer is a Mac.

affordable payroll that delivers

Pros

One of the best things about QuickBooks Payroll is the pricing as it's very affordable for what it offers. Whenever something comes up, the customer support team is excellent to work with and always helpful. The system is also simple to navigate and use on a daily basis.

Cons

At this point I really cannot think of any downsides.

pulls tax withdrawals far too early

Pros

QBO Payroll fits well for small business owners because it integrates very quickly almost a little too quickly at times. Having payroll and everything else kept together in one place is definitely convenient.

Cons

Latelyithas been pulling tax deposits as much as 6 weeks before the actual due date, based on a recent client case. That money is then held in a separate account, where Intuit appears to earn interest onitwithout any benefit going back to clients. Because of that, my client had to shut off the automatic payroll features since he simply cannot afford to let Intuit hold his money that far in advance.

Customization options are valuable

Pros

Using QuickBooks Payroll on both the employer and employee side gave me a pretty well-rounded view of it. As an employer, the level of customization is very valuable especially when it comes to taxes. It lets you set up state and federal taxes, PTO and items like wage garnishments which makes payroll much more manageable. On the employee side, it was very easy to use. Being able to check the weekly schedule was also a nice bonus.

Cons

On the employer side, submitting payroll could become pretty stressful around holidays. The timing really depends on the plan you're paying for and holiday schedules mean payroll has to be sent in earlier than usual. If that deadline gets missed, employees can end up not getting paid on time. I don't really have any feedback from the employee side whenitcomes to downsides.

reliable payroll tool

Pros

QuickBooks Payroll has been very easy to work with and the banking integration was simple to set up. The customer support team responds quickly and is genuinely helpful. Paystubs are also simple to access and overall it offers great value for the price.

Cons

Getting started withitcan be a bit challenging for new users who are not familiar with payroll management. There were also a couple of major issues along the way, although they were addressed.

Automated payroll process is a win

Pros

It takes care of the full payroll process, including all monthly deductions and I can set everything to run automatically each month which saves a lot of time.

Cons

To me the price feels a bit high. I wasn't thrilled about paying the extra cost at first but sinceitremoves the stress of making sure payments go out on time, ithas ended up being worthit.

simplifies everything!

Pros

Managing payroll for my employees became much more organized with this software and everything was laid out in a way that was easy to follow. I especially liked how the spreadsheets worked and they made calculating monetary amounts very easy.

Cons

The only thing I wasn't thrilled about was the price since I do wishithad cost less than what I ended up paying. Still, after usingitonce, I knewitwas the right fit for me.
