One thing I appreciate is that I'm able to import employees' time directly into my payroll software. I also like being able to see when an employee edits or changes their timesheet.
Cons
The multiple timesheet feature could be more reliable, because it doesn't always work as expected and needs improvement. I also wish I could view timesheets one week at a time and get the totals for each week.

What I like is how it links directly with our accounting software, so all we need to do is bring in the timesheets and payroll is ready to run right away. I'm also a fan of the archiving and document management tools and there are many other helpful features.
Cons
My biggest problem is that it doesn't show how many timesheets (i.e., employees) I'm about to import. I need that tally so I can confirm everything's prepared before importing it's crucial for my workflow. It would also be helpful if the system displayed the total hours being imported so I can verify the sums ahead of time.

While the program comes loaded with a lot of capabilitiesmany of which we don't ever tapwe bought it mainly so our staff would have a simple, reliable way to record their work hours and categorize time by job. The entries are what we rely on to build payroll, bill our clients and satisfy audit documentation for cost-reimbursed contracts. In practice it has turned out to be an important and dependable resource that helps us meet all of those administrative and compliance needs.
Cons
I don't have any criticisms about the Clockwise features we currently use. Given my positive experience with the parts we rely on, I would expect that the other features would also meet my needs and leave me equally satisfied if we chose to use them.

Its very friendly and easy to use, the site is always available, simple and dependable.
Cons
the app behaves oddly depending on which browser I use. The rows never align, which drives me nuts when I'm trying to track time. The GUI is rigid and makes reviewing timecards far more time-consuming than it should be. Whenever we've requested even small updates or improvements, nothing has been changed.

“Clever hour and mileage tracker

For my organization, I really appreciated how simple it is to monitor hours at the top of the timesheet while being able to allocate those hours across multiple programs lower down. I also appreciated that mileage can be billed directly within the timesheet and then exported into a spreadsheet for easy import into our payroll system. There's even a place to upload the actual mileage logs, so I had all the backup documentation right there attached to the timesheet, which made record-keeping and audits much less of aissue for our team.
Cons
During setup, figuring out the precise CSV or .text file layout that would import cleanly into our accounting software proved to be somewhat tricky. I found there was no magic export that came out flawless, so we ended up doing a bit of manual reformatting for the accounting imports. On the plus side, imports of leave and paystubs did work when sent back into Clockwise and after a couple of weeks everything settled down and required only minimal tweaks. One remaining annoyance for me is that, even though timesheets are bi-weekly, the system doesn't subtotal each individual week having weekly totals would have made calculating overtime much simpler.

this tool is really simple to use, it records time exactly the way we need it and lets us split entries by customer, by project under a given customer and by corporate-level projects, while also handling different types of time off like holidays, vacation and sick leave. Plus, the News area is fantastic for sharing company-wide updates since not everyone checks email but everyone must enter their time, they will see whatever is posted there first. I consider this a highly useful feature, although I wish it were a little more powerful.
Cons
We rely on the News feature heavily but it really needs to be more robust it 'blows up' or fails on us when we include too many characters in a post which is frustrating because we use it all the time and consider it extremely valuable.

It would be helpful to have a main home screen with quick links to frequently used apps so I can jump straight to what I need. For example, I always go to Supervisor first and then select 'view timesheets', so a customizable home screen that lets me click those options quickly would simplify my routine a bit. Clockwise is incredibly forgiving. With a bit of effort I can correct a lot of issues. The customer support team is excellent and knowledgeable when I reach out. We've seen very little downtime, which I appreciate.
Cons
I'm missing a clear timesheet approval status feature for our team. It would also be helpful if timesheet notes were visible to the end user but that's not an option right now. Because we oversee a large number of client: project combinations that each have different approval needs, it can't handle those variations for us. As a result I end up exporting the data and doing weekly Excel workarounds to track and update approval statuses for every project.
