Cons
A few indicators are still missing but it seems like those are expected to be added over time.

“fast tax research”
Pros
Using this software feels very easy and being able to cross reference the results with actual court cases is a big plus. It helps speed up the research process quite a bit and lets you work through a large amount of research in less time.
Cons
I'd still like to see the tool cover a broader range of research topics than it currently does.

“helpful walkthroughs limited tax coverage”
Pros
Something this software does well is guide you through the questions that actually matter for a specific issue and it lets you adjust your answers to see how the outcome changes. It's also very good at bringing up the jurisprudence that most closely matches your fact pattern.
Cons
The limitation is that there just aren't many situations where I can actually use it because the number of classifiers is still small compared with the range of questions a tax professional needs to answer. That's not really something the company can fully solve, it's more a limitation of what machine learning can do in this area and that creates two separate problems. First, machine learning needs a very large body of source material to be accurate and in Canada there simply isn't enough jurisprudence available. Also Tax legislation changes frequently so the model can't rely too heavily on older cases which shrinks the usable pool even more. Second, machine learning still depends on people to classify the questions and answers in the first place. If the human trainer decides that certain issues are usually determinative that's what the algorithm will learn. The result is that it can miss edge cases which is understandable but those are often exactly the situations where practitioners need the most support. If a residency issue is easy the tool will likely handle it fine but a practitioner probably doesn't need much help in that scenario anyway.
