“Perfect fit for my practice”
Pros
It really feels built around the way my practice works. I've been using it for several years now and I still keep coming across new features and options on a regular basis.
Cons
It doesn't let you color-code calendar appointments.

“Requires no training”
Pros
It takes almost no training which makes onboarding really quick. The platform is very user-friendly and help is always just a click away whenever it's needed. It's also simple to send questions and suggestions directly to Clio's team.
Cons
It can feel a little expensive for a firm with more than 20 people.

“Holds entire client file”
Pros
At our firm, we always say that if it's not in Clio, it didn't happen. It holds our full client file in one system, including the accounting side as well.
Cons
The one thing I'd still like to see is more detailed reporting.

“Attractive interface”
Pros
The interface looks polished and pleasant to work in and it really helps me stay organized while making collaboration with others much easier.
Cons
The auto-filled forms can be inaccurate at times so they occasionally need to be checked and corrected manually.

“Licensing risk and broken promises”
Pros
I bought into the feature set they pitched but it turned out they couldn't actually deliver on what was promised. In my view, working with them could even put your law license at risk.
Cons
Right from the start, they seemed unable to understand their own system and for 2.5 months they kept brushing me off while I was forced to look for another platform. Their excuse was that my EIN and SS-4 were too new so I supposedly couldn't accept payments through their system during that time. Meanwhile, LawPay got me set up right away which says a lot. Their attitude came across like, "we already got her money so whatever," and going along with that feels like a real threat to my ability to practice law.

“Plenty of useful features”
Pros
I was impressed by how many useful features are built into it. It feels like a program anyone handling legal matters should have to keep everything managed properly.
Cons
As far as I can tell, it's perfect and I honestly haven't come across any flaws.

“Cuts time spent on billing”
Pros
Getting around it is very easy and it has significantly reduced the amount of time we spend on monthly billing.
Cons
One thing that still hasn't worked well is getting emails to save into Clio automatically.

“Organizes client communication”
Pros
Between the time tracking, note-taking, Client Portal and desktop app, it covers a lot of what I need and does it really well. Those features have been especially useful in keeping my work organized and client communication in one place.
Cons
At this point, I can't really point to a specific downside because I still haven't explored every feature the platform offers.

“New user”
Pros
Its so userfriendly. We're still in the process of rolling it out to our staff but I don't expect any issues, whether someone is very comfortable with computers or not.
Cons
Their team mentioned that new updates are on the way for collecting client payments and those changes will be very important for our firm. As a smaller practice, we're hesitant to use Clio for client payments right now because of the fees involved. That said I've been told an ACH payment option is coming, along with surcharging.

The service feels professional and trustworthy, with quick responses and very attentive support throughout the process.

“Recommended!”
Pros
It makes the day-to-day work much easier for me and other legal professionals and because it's such a practical and useful application, I would definitely recommend it.
Cons
It would be better if users were notified about updates ahead of time by email.

“Excellent tool overall”
Pros
Found it simple to manage and it does a really good job of keeping information organized and accessible whenever I need it.
Cons
This software has been excellent overall. The only thing I'd want added is a way to enter and track all client-related dollar amounts in one central place.

“Brilliant practice management tools”
Pros
The practice management tools are easily our favorite part. Out of everything we've used, these have been the strongest by far.

It would be even better if it offered integrations with more software.

“Reliable support from helpdesk”
Pros
It's pretty simple to work out a lot of the system on my own which I really appreciate. When I do need assistance, the helpdesk has been helpful and reliable.
Cons
At times, getting support means staying on the phone longer than I'd like. I don't always have the time to sit on hold for too long.

“Incredible support”
Pros
Running a law firm feels much more organized with CLIO because it brings everything into one practice management system. Clients can interact through the platform and attorneys can handle tasks, case documents, notes, calendars and more in a very structured way. It's extremely user-friendly and the customer support has been outstanding.
Cons
The one thing I'd really like to see is better calendar integration with Outlook so my Outlook calendar would automatically sync with my CLIO calendar.

“Time tracking made simple”
Pros
Keeping tabs on our time and staying on top of cases is really simple which makes day-to-day work much easier.
Cons
One thing I'd still like to see is a one-click way to duplicate an activity exactly as it is so we wouldn't have to copy and paste the same description when adding it to another matter.

“Stores all necessary information for me”
Pros
Every morning when I start work, I know I can count on it to pull up case details, client contact information and keep my time tracking on point. Since we started using it in mid-2018, I honestly can't remember a single day when the platform was unavailable. It's also user-friendly enough that when new employees or staff come into the firm, most of them are able to learn it quickly and start using it without much trouble.
Cons
I do value the amount of ongoing development and updates that go into improving Clio. That said one issue for my business over the years has been keeping track of outstanding invoices, draft bills that are still unapproved and separating what has already been paid from what is still due. Some of that may come down to user error but I still think the system should do a better job of notifying users when draft bills are sitting in an "unapproved" status.

“Can't do without it”
Pros
It is something we rely on every single day and I honestly can't picture working in a law office without it. Being able to track each client matter in one central place is easily the most valuable tool we have in our office.
Cons
What could be better is how notes added to a client's matter in Clio end up appearing on the invoice sent to the client. It would be much more helpful if we could add detailed internal notes without having them show up on the client's invoice.

“Well trained support staff”
Pros
The responsive customer support and the ongoing development of new features are some of the things I value the most.
Cons
Trust accounting is still challenging and it would work better if it were handled directly within Clio instead of through QBO.
