The backend generally does what it needs to but I have to admit it doesn't feel quite as refined yet, likely a product of still scaling its user base. I got a bit annoyed when I put together a workflow meant to let people upload documents, only to run into problems where Excel spreadsheets and larger PDF files couldn't be uploaded. That limitation slowed us down and was frustrating given how fundamental file uploads are to our processes.

Beyond the app's built-in capabilities, their customer support consistently impresses me. The group keeps adding new options that make things more convenient and cut down on time spent. I found the product very feasible to pick up even without any programming background. In my opinion it likely ranks among the most convenient interfaces I've used. The user community for this tool is also incredibly supportive in the dedicated Slack channel and there are plenty of useful guides on their site as well as on YouTube. And when I say their customer support is excellent, I mean that if I can't locate an answer among the available materials, their team responds quickly to assist. Whenever I've contacted support, someone from their staff gets back to me within about fifteen minutes or so and they have been helpful.
Cons
While the Word add-in lets me insert variables that were already created in the workflow, I can't create new variables directly from the add-in on the fly. It doesn't take long to swap between the two applications but that limitation is the only thing I can think of from other apps that would be a nice addition to this tool and I'd love to see it in updates.

We moved away from a setup that relied on Zapier, Typeform and Webmerge because it was clunky, getting pricey and didn't meet our standards for protecting client data. With Documate, each user is provisioned on their own AWS instance, so our information is basically isolated and locked down. Their support team has been phenomenal, they guided us through moving every document from the old system and made the whole migration far less stressful than I expected.

Our company has gotten great ROI from Documate. I've been able to populate client information into both MS Office and Adobe files and pass my automated workflows to teammates so we all work faster. The platform is flexible and comes with clear documentation. Support is available around the clock whenever I have questions. I would definitely recommend it.

“Powerful ui with limitless capabilities
Pros
Documate feels like an incredibly powerful tool with virtually limitless capabilities. The user interface is simple to navigate and I especially appreciate being able to attach multiple source files to my output so they all fill in together. I run one interview that generates more than 30 documents and includes fairly intricate logic. They also offer bespoke services which I've hired a few times to implement SMS alerts and other tailored notifications. Before this I tried HotDocs which was incredibly tough to pick up. After only a five-minute walkthrough from their customer success team, I was up and running and those folks were excellent.
Cons
I haven't really noticed any downsides yet, everything seems to work smoothly. It would be cool to have more tutorials and example projects, though, so I could explore features I might not have thought of on my own.

“Easy setup for small business workflows

For my event planning business, this program has become the go-to for producing agreements and price lists because it simplifies the whole process for me. It was super easy to get up and running since I didn't need any prior coding knowledge and it has saved me an enormous amount of time. These days I just share the link to my web-based "interview" with clients and they complete all the details from their side (they can even do it on their phones). There are lots of ways to customize things, yet I configured it so clients don't instantly see the finished agreement. Instead, I receive an email with the filled-out document that I can review and then send back to them when I decide it's ready. It's genuinely a fantastic tool for small businesses that want to avoid being swamped by document creation.
Cons
Their marketing seems focused on legal customers which I get but I think they're starting to branch out. I found the team extremely helpful, they guided me through setting up a workflow that actually fits my business and helped answer all my questions along the way.
