Mimecast Advanced Email Security Features
URL Protect And Time Of Click Scanning
URLs in inbound email are rewritten and checked at click time to block credential phishing and late detonations. Administrators gain central policies and reporting for high risk users and campaigns. This reduces risky logins and malware downloads while preserving access to legitimate destinations through real time inspection.
Attachment Protect And Sandboxing
Attachments are sandboxed during delivery and, when needed, converted to safe transcriptions so work can continue without exposure to embedded threats. Security teams can release originals after analysis. Dashboards highlight unsafe files and recent events. This approach cuts malware risk from common document types while limiting disruption to business email.
Impersonation Protect And Anti Spoofing
Sender and content signals are analyzed to detect CEO fraud, lookalike domains, and manipulated display names. Policies can flag suspicious messages with clear end user banners and enforce reporting workflows. Catching social engineering early reduces financial loss risk and lowers manual phishing triage for administrators.
Secure Messaging And Policy Based Encryption
When transport layer security is not feasible, employees can send protected messages from their mailbox without extra software. Policy rules apply encryption automatically for sensitive exchanges. This enables regulated correspondence with clients or partners while keeping delivery reliable and auditable for compliance teams. Admins retain centralized control and tracking.
Post Delivery Remediation And SIEM Logging
Security teams monitor events and pull detailed logs into SIEM platforms for correlation. If a threat evades initial checks, administrators can find messages and remediate across mailboxes. These capabilities exemplify Mimecast Advanced Email Security features that reduce dwell time and support investigations. Centralized control aids incident response.

“Incredible flexibility and thorough documentation”
Pros
Flexibility here is incredible, tons of options to customize everything exactly how I need it. Documentation is thorough and both the community and customer support are top notch. There's definitely a learning curve at first but once I get the hang of it, managing everything becomes really easy. Implementation was surprisingly quick, just took a few steps to get up and running. Plus, the Outlook integration adds some nice extra functionality.
Cons
Can feel pretty confusing when I am just starting out. You'll definitely want some training before diving in and trying to manage everything, there's a lot to learn upfront.

“easy implementation with extra security”
Pros
I've been using this for nearly 15 years and can vouch for how easy implementation, configuration and administration really are. The extra security layers it provides beyond what I get with first party email platforms is incredible. I wouldn't even consider running a mail environment without having this protection in place.
Cons
I think the role based access control features could use some major improvements.

“Runs smoothly with helpful documentation”
Pros
Once everything's configured, it runs smoothly without any issue for me or my team. The documentation they provide is really helpful, I managed to get it implemented for our organization without needing to contact support at all.
Cons
There's definitely a learning curve here and the interface feels pretty outdated with tons of menus and sub menus to dig through. Once I spend some time with it though, I do get familiar with where everything is located.
