The affidavits seem unimpressive and bland. The fonts are small and dull. The percentage charged for Stripe integration means I pay twice, once to Stripe and once to ServeManager. I do not like that this fee is based on the billing amount since there is no extra effort on their side for larger invoices. They should consider capping the expense. Currently, I am forced to manually send a Stripe invoice for larger invoices, which defeats the purpose.

The performance is impressive. It is designed to fulfill exactly what I need when tracking service of process. There are countless data fields to retain and ServeManager covers everything. The software is easy, making it easy to use with very little training to start working within the platform.
Cons
Perfect software does not exist. Everyone has preconceived ideas about how a platform like this should function. I overcame this by adopting a business practice I often consider, thinking outside the box. When the software does not meet a specific need, I realized there might be an alternative way to achieve my goal. After overcoming some hurdles, I was able to maximize my use of ServeManager and found little lacking. While I believe there are areas for improvement, what ServeManager does well far exceeds its limitations.

Generally, I like the changes and new features. It is great that we can call and request features, some of which have been implemented. However, I am not a fan of two recent changes: the colors for Rush jobs and past due jobs. Rush jobs should be red to signify their importance, while past-due jobs should be yellow to indicate they need attention. Additionally, I do not like that job attachments are now centered. We receive many attachments, and having to scroll down a lot to add a note or check job activity is inconvenient. Could this be moved back?

It would be helpful to have a tab under serve status for bad addresses. When logging an attempt as a bad address, it simply shows up as an attempt in ServeManager, which defeats the purpose. A dedicated bad address tab would allow for more accurate tracking of jobs.

Transitioning from my old software to ServeManager was straightforward. The software allows for some customization to meet my needs and I especially like the pay by credit card option. Not only do I get paid but the credit card software posts the payment to the job, saving a step and indicating "paid" on the invoice.

In my area, clients still require the original notarized affidavit of service. After notarization, I need to scan the affidavit to my desktop, email a copy to the client, download the affidavit to the job and then mail the original. It would be great if a feature could be added to attach the affidavit to the invoice and email both simultaneously.

It feels like the mapping has changed. It no longer provides vocal turn-by-turn directions. This forces me to read while driving, which is not ideal. It adds an additional 30 to 60 seconds to each job as our field staff must pull up Google Maps and enter addresses manually. Now, clicking on the address in the platform does nothing more than show steps, lacking audio or turn-by-turn guidance, which is a poor usage experience and increases time on each job.

After more than three years with ServeManager, it has turned out to be an excellent match for my small process serving business in New Zealand. Getting started was easy too and after using the trial for just two days, I knew it suited what I needed. The system is very user friendly and I have agents across the country using it to handle the jobs I assign them. Even those who are not very comfortable with computers have been able to use it without trouble.
Cons
There are a few areas we would still like to see improved although they are fairly minor. One thing that would help us is having a country field included in the address section since we work with clients in New Zealand, Australia, the UK and the US. It would also be useful to have the option to edit the Service Type dropdown menu. I would also like to see a connected calendar where tasks and reminders for agents could be managed. From a marketing perspective, it would be helpful to export all contact names for a company, not just the main contact, to a third-party system. That said new features and updates are released regularly and it is clear the platform keeps evolving and getting better which is excellent. We are definitely looking forward to seeing what comes next.

The mobile remote access gives me everything I need while I am out in the field in real time. GPS logging helps document actual service attempts and it can email those attempts directly to both the client and the server when that setting is turned on. I can also keep detailed notes on each case throughout the entire time it stays active or open. The newer e-serve option looks especially promising as more courts begin accepting electronic service. Honestly it would take forever to list everything it offers. Between the product itself and the support behind it, it's hard to go wrong here.

ServeManager is a great tool and it's simple to pick up without needing a manual or digging through online help. I tend to learn by actually doing the work instead of having someone explain every step so when we bring on a new hire, we usually share the screen, give them an order to enter and let them work through it while we supervise. Most people who are comfortable with legal work and computers can usually enter their first order within 10 to 15 minutes and with just a little guidance, they're often handling order entry at full speed within a day or two. We try to keep the whole process simple and avoid filling new servers or office staff with unnecessary industry horror stories. I usually describe the job as being high-priced couriers who have to follow specific rules and deal with a lot more paperwork.

Back when I launched my company five years ago, I needed a lot of guidance and this software made the service-of-process workflow much easier to handle. There were plenty of things I wasn't sure about after completing a serve and the platform helped me work through them. Features like national affidavits of service, invoicing, the automatic address generator when setting up jobs and tools for tracking different clients and court cases make it an outstanding product and far better than similar options out there. It even has a mobile version which makes life much easier for servers out in the field. I honestly cannot imagine running my business without ServeManager. Aside from getting my business license, it was the best early investment I made.

It does ask for quite a bit of information during data entry and some of it is not always necessary for the actual process service job. Because of that, entering new cases can take a few extra minutes when they first come in. Still, I see that as a pretty minor issue since having those details stored in my records is useful and the overall value of the program easily outweighs that inconvenience.

One thing that would really help is having a mobile app available. When we're working in areas with poor signal, we sometimes cannot log attempts through the web app. If there were an app that could save serves offline and sync them later once service comes back, that would solve a big issue. Having everything tied to one company or person in a single place makes this system really useful. We can upload just about anything and keep all of the related information together instead of searching in multiple places. It also helps that we can email servers, customers and others directly from the platform. Overall ServeManager does a great job of tracking jobs, company details, invoicing and server pay.
Cons
A few parts of the setup still feel awkward. Moving the Notes box lower on the page is not very convenient and it would be much better if Notes or Service Instructions allowed basic formatting like bold, larger text, italics, underline or different colors. The service attempt layout, once opened, also makes it nearly impossible to copy and paste the details into an email in a clean format. Invoicing is another frustrating area because you cannot insert lines where they are needed, only at the bottom. That creates problems when items need to be dated in order and there is also no option to copy and paste a full line and move it further down the invoice. On top of that the payment field does not let us enter an amount higher than the balance shown, when we really should be able to record whatever amount a client pays. The Field Sheets could also use a redesigned layout. There is no real need for the court case information to appear at the top for the server, while the recipient, due date and job number should be much larger and more prominent. The address should also appear at the top next to the recipient name and be easier to read. The new file upload flow adds extra steps too since clicking the upload button in the middle of the page just redirects to the bottom where uploads were already being done before. In Job Activity, it would also help to see when an invoice has been sent to the client and there should definitely be an email notification when a credit card payment is made on an invoice.

Running ServeManager gave us an all in one setup that helped save both time and money and in this line of work those are two things you cannot afford to lose. Its server database has also built a strong professional network, making it possible for a summons issued in Missouri to be served in Maine within hours. Features like online payments, cloud storage and GPS coordinates to verify serves have become essential in this constantly changing industry and it has kept pace with all of it while continuing to deliver the best process service software available.
Cons
It's not really fair to call this a downside but it was never presented as private investigator software. I did use it that way for a while until I eventually switched to another platform for that specific need. That software claimed it could also manage the process service side of my business but it never matched the convenience and usability that this one provided.

I'd really like to have the ability to sort by order number and invoice number. At the moment, the order doesn't seem to follow any clear pattern and feels a bit random. That said you can still type in the order number directly or use the job # link from the email. At first it looks professional but the system really isn't explained clearly so I have had to rely on a lot of trial and error to figure things out. The POS templates are another frustration because when they print, the text comes out very small and even overlaps at the bottom of the last pages which makes them unusable. It also seems to keep closed files marked as active and doesn't remove completed jobs from the GPS routes so that part doesn't work for me either. Those are just some of the issues I have run into personally. Even with all that, it's still better than having nothing so I keep using it, try to work around the problems and print my own court documents instead of using the ServeManager templates. That's honestly been my biggest disappointment.

The system is a little confusing especially for someone who isn't very tech-savvy. It also keeps old files and closed accounts showing up and I haven't been able to get them removed from the GPS routes and lists.

“plug and play workforce tracking
Pros
ServeManager was basically plug and play which made setup incredibly quick. Being able to track employees and review who they attempted has been really valuable. Honestly this has been the best purchase I have ever made.
Cons
My only real downside is that I didn't start using the program sooner. Once it became part of my process, I realized I couldn't keep up with the workflow without it.

Pros
It is very easy to use and gets right to the point without any unnecessary complexity.
Cons
I feel like adding a mobile app would be great since that would make things much more convenient for servers working out in the field.

Pros
Compared with PST, this has been much more manageable for us to work with since we could never really get the hang of PST. It helps us keep track of jobs, report back to clients and generate affidavits.
Cons
The downside is that we cannot customize it to fit our specific needs.
