An easy choice for small firms

Pros

It's incredibly easy to use and the gentle learning curve is exactly why it's my go-to choice for small and mid-sized law firms. I can get my team up to speed quickly without lengthy training. I also really appreciate the clear, insightful reporting and dashboards.. they give me an at-a-glance understanding of our firm's performance without any guesswork.

Cons

While it's not the cheapest option I feel the entry-level plan still includes plenty of features I especially value the generous member controls and auto-tagging.

Simple to log billable hours

Pros

I am a fan of how simple it is to log my hours and sync the automatic time entries with my firm's billing system. It really helps me pick up on billable moments I might otherwise miss and it keeps everything nicely organized and easy to manage.

Cons

I'd like it to work more effectively as a standalone time tracker and to do a clearer job of labeling some of the automated entries it creates. In the grand scheme these are only small annoyances and they don't really take away from how useful the tool is overall.

captures billable hours I would miss

Pros

Previously I used to miss a ton of billable hours but these days WiseTime records almost everything I work on so I'm no longer losing as much chargeable time as I was before.

Cons

Sometimes it won't log the full duration or precise activity when I have multiple windows open and keep switching between them which means I end up double-checking and correcting entries nevertheless I still find it much more accurate than the way I tracked time previously.

Saves time tracking billable work

Pros

Using it saves me a lot of time when I'm tracking billable hours. The process is organized and simple so I can log my time accurately and efficiently without it feeling like a chore. That efficiency directly translates into more time I can focus on my actual legal work.

Cons

I find the summaries aren't completely accurate and I'd appreciate if the app provided a short narrative explaining what was done for each billable hour.

Accurate tracking

Pros

This tool genuinely helps me keep accurate tabs on my time and then move those records over to CLIO without any issue.

Cons

Well I do wish we were able to record the entries in the present tense and that the entries could be divided using semicolons instead of commas.l

quietly records work in real time

Pros

I like that it quietly records the work I do in real time including which apps I'm using. Its AI-generated summaries are pretty accurate and help me recall exactly what I was doing at those moments.

Cons

Sometimes it fails to capture some activities like particular websites I've visited or specific PDFs I open and read in Adobe Acrobat.

helpful time tracking

Pros

It has turned our terrible time-tracking into something much better. It's accurate and I've been able to record hours we used to miss, recovering time we left on the table.

Cons

Wish connecting with tech support and actually getting helpful assistance were easier. It might be down to geography or how the company is run because at times the limited support has felt increasingly frustrating and inconvenient. Thankfully the software is fairly interactive so I rarely need to contact support and the occasions when I do are few and manageable.

I don't find it consistently accurate and there are times when it reports far longer durations than I actually spent in a specific window.

Background tracking needs better AI

Pros

What I like is that it runs in the background and automatically records my time and the tagging system does a solid job linking those tracked intervals to the correct matters most of the time.

Cons

Honestly the AI-generated time entries still need a lot of refinement. For one thing I want the ability to choose the tense of each entry sometimes I prefer "conduct online legal research re matter" and other times "reviewed client email." The summaries also feel skimpy, I need an option to collapse or expand a single day's worth of tasks on a matter into one entry that breaks out what I actually did. And please stop noting the software used ,there's no need for the AI to say documents were reviewed in Adobe or drafted in Word, it just adds clutter.

Detailed tracking with poor AI entries

Pros

I love how it keeps such detailed track of everything I do throughout the day and I am absolutely thrilled with how smoothly it syncs to our Clio file system.

Cons

I find the AI-generated time entries are often low in quality and usually need me to correct or edit them and it also frequently mislabels or doesn't reliably pick the right file to attach each entry to.

it saves a tremendous amount of time, it's very user-friendly, sports a clean interface and fits in smoothly with our workflows.

Cons

great time tracking tool

Pros

One feature I like is being able to set how detailed the time tracking gets, since I can adjust the level of granularity to suit different tasks. I also find it helpful that a single entry can be tagged to multiple matters which keeps things organized. Customer support deserves a shout-out too, because they were consistently responsive and genuinely keen to help.

Cons

Over the roughly year I've been using it I've noticed it hasn't really evolved much. It works well overall but I keep wishing for features that some other time-tracking packages include like seeing my Clio time entries directly inside the application and being able to 'unsend' a published time entry to make additional edits. That lack of functionality forces me to flip between Clio and WiseTime when organizing and correcting my time which adds friction to my workflow. In short while it's a good product, it feels a bit behind on certain integrations and editing conveniences.

Simple but needs better reports

It is simple to set up and use plus it lets me tailor features to fit my workflow for example I can create custom tags for my clients.

Cons

It would be great if I could have more control over the reporting for instance the option to run reports filtered by specific tags would be really helpful.

perfect for time and billing sync

Pros

Managing and billing my time has become so much easier especially because of the handy plugins that sync everything.

Cons

I wish I could capture and track my phone activity too and have that automatically merged into my desktop timeline.
