Positive experience with Absorb

Pros

It contains nearly all the features available in the LMS market and their customer service is outstanding!

Cons

Connecting with third-party content providers takes a lot of time when we need to edit courses, and syncing can take more than a week instead of happening right away.

Love their customer support

Pros

The platform is versatile and comes with excellent support. It is a leader in the industry with a wide range of content available, along with the option to include our own.

Cons

It would be really helpful to have Learner AI assistance because navigating the platform is not always easy for some learners. This feature is planned for the future, so it should help solve this problem.

Lots of features and easy to adapt

Pros

I was impressed by how quickly our team adjusted to using Absorb. The implementation process was smooth, and I love the additional features that Absorb provided, such as forums and curriculums, which our previous LMS lacked.

Cons

My team is new to Absorb and while there may be better alternatives, we have discovered that the survey functionality did not fulfill our requirements. The basic survey was limited, so we developed one using Absorb Create to obtain the reporting capabilities we desired. However, Create had limitations in terms of design and formatting.

Great platform for our students and instructional staff

Pros

I love how students can emotionally connect with course objectives through video storytelling. The self-grading feature and the easy-to-use interface for students are great. I also appreciate the new Analyze feature to monitor student activity.

Cons

Although its pricey, I find the cost worthwhile. I just wish I could make some changes to the flow and student engagement activities.

Why would I suggest Absorb?

Pros

Implementing robust reporting and dashboard features in Absorb LMS involved setting up custom reporting tools and dashboards to track learner progress, performance, and engagement metrics effectively. Customizing reports for license usage and billing to fit specific organizational needs was complex, requiring data integration and usability solutions. Close cooperation between the Absorb billing and internal delivery teams was crucial to define reporting needs and configure accurate custom reports.

Cons

For our e-Commerce Business to Customer initiative, which is a key profit driver, we want to offer a unique learning experience for those interested in DEI. We faced challenges with secure payment processing and outdated knowledge-based articles in Absorb. We had to collaborate extensively with finance, IT, and Absorb LMS specialists to identify payment issues. A temporary solution was put in place to capture payments, though it still poses some risk. Also, while Absorb offers essential integrations with a click, it requires admin authorization across different systems. Admins in Absorb should also have admin rights in other systems, which isn't always the case.

Easy to implement tool with great potential to develop further

Pros

It's easy to implement and learn as an admin. The support team is always ready and helpful. The platform is highly customizable to suit different audiences.

Grows with you with top services

Pros

What really stands out to me is the flexibility here, we don't operate like most organizations and I found several different ways to set things up so they fit our specific workflow. It gives me peace of mind that it can grow alongside us for many years. On top of that, their customer support consistently amazes me, I honestly can't put into words how helpful they are and how much effort they put into understanding our processes to give us top-notch assistance.

Cons

There are only minor adjustments I'd like to see here and there, but none of them really disrupt our everyday operations. In fact, the platform's broad range of features more than compensates for those little annoyances, so they don't detract from the overall value we get.

Exceeded every expectation I had

Pros

The implementation process went way more smoothly than I expected and I noticed that getting everything integrated didn't take much time at all. What I loved most was how quick and responsive the support team is, they're happy to jump on a call whenever we run into problems.

Cons

Sometimes the knowledge base is packed with articles which I appreciate, but I often feel like I'm searching for a needle in a haystack when I'm trying to find something specific.

good tool but missing key tools

Pros

Working closely with the integration team, we were guided through learning and troubleshooting every aspect. We're using the system for online courses and to track instructor-led training for more than 17,000 employees. I appreciated that we could keep using our existing presentation materials like Articulate and PowerPoint, that was a major advantage. Reporting tools are embedded on each page, which I find convenient. The Ideas Portal is another strong point, we can submit requests and they get evaluated, then either rejected, deferred or added without too much fuss. Our Client Support Specialist, Sherrie Luke has been phenomenal during the switch from our previous LMS and with all the user mistakes along the way. She really made the whole integration far less frustrating.

Cons

However, the reporting capabilities I assumed a proper LMS would offer are largely absent, things like scalable transcripts, the ability to monitor group course progress, and tracking curriculum advancement even when people aren't registered are missing. We did file suggestions through their Ideas Portal and some updates are underway, but when we first raised our reporting needs the quick answer was essentially, 'purchase this extra $25k product and see if it helps.' That solution isn't feasible for us. It often feels as though they adapted a point-of-sale system into a learning platform, so a number of fundamental LMS features are just not present.

Simple to learn

Pros

It is easy to learn and I picked it up pretty fast. The admin dashboard is user-friendly and we were able to tailor the layout to fit our users' needs exactly and whether we wanted a minimal setup or more advanced options. Having single sign-on built in lifted a big burden off my shoulders by cutting down admin tasks. The project managers have been excellent as well, always available when we needed assistance and truly helpful throughout.

Cons

We found the reporting tools far too rigid and they simply didn't meet our requirements. Because of that limitation, we wound up exporting all of our data out of the platform and taking care of reporting and data handling with our own internal systems instead which was frustrating and added extra steps to our workflow.

Transformed our employee training process

Pros

There's a lot to like about this LMS, it comes packed with features that our team actually uses every day. The Create module, in particular has been a game changer for us, I've been able to put together interactive courses and plug them right into our learning structure without any issue. Because of that, our onboarding has seen a huge improvement and more than 1,200 employees are now regularly using the platform. I also really value the user impersonation feature, it's a standout for me.

Cons

I'd really like the ability for learners to add their completed training to their LinkedIn profiles. I also wish the video player offered multiple playback speed options so people could watch faster or slower depending on their preference.

Easy but takes practice

Pros

I find the interface very user friendly and the core features work brilliantly, we can offer our trainers and learners a flexible, engaging platform that they genuinely enjoy using.

Cons

In my experience, there is certainly a learning curve when you begin using it. I wouldn't call that a flaw though, it's simply the normal process of becoming proficient with any unfamiliar system.

Simple and Effective Operations Tool

Pros

I've found it useful for updating re-enrollment dates and handling course changes.

Cons

Managing bulk updates across multiple courses for employees was very time-consuming. Because we depended so much on hands-on training via the platform, managers needed quite a long time to fully update everything correctly.

Smooth external LMS setup experience

Pros

Working with this tool turned out to be much easier than I expected, it handled most of the complicated work automatically. Moving around felt natural the whole time and whenever I hit a snag, they fixed it quickly.

Cons

I've run into a few design and usability quirks that don't really fit what our team needs right now. Even so, I feel confident these issues could be ironed out with upcoming updates.

best support with few changes

Pros

UI is remarkably easy to use and I have to say the support team has been outstanding, they're quick to respond, friendly and truly helpful. May, our IPM honestly saved us during the integration and data migration, she turned what could've been a stressful ordeal into a far smoother experience while consistently encouraging us through every step.

Cons

I wish the product offered greater customization because the current constraints are often irritating when we're trying to adapt features to meet our specific workflows and requirements.

awsome tool with proper training

Pros

the "Create" tool lets me assemble and manage courses quickly while keeping accessibility front and center and making updates is genuinely easy. Managing content comes across as interactive and flexible. The implementation went smoothly and the support team clearly knows their stuff, they respond quickly. Onboarding was fantastic!

Cons

It does take a time to get fully comfortable with the system, and there are subtle nuances that aren't immediately obvious. I found that proper training was necessary to use it effectively.
