My experience with absorb

Pros

I've been on this platform for about a year now and although I'm still learning how to find everything, the help I get from Melissa Wu completely changes the experience. Melissa is super responsive and almost always has a fix ready, regardless of the problem I run into. The Absorb Academy training videos are genuinely useful as well and having Melissa jump in so fast whenever I have a question feels priceless. I am convinced she's a major asset to the team!

Cons

I wish there were a dashboard visible to users so I could post things like training schedules and important announcements for everyone to see at once. At the moment I'm only able to message admins through the dashboard, which means I don't have a simple way to broadcast updates to all users. A feature that lets me reach the entire user base quickly would make communication far easier and save me a lot of back-and-forth.

always getting better

Pros

Being able to build distinct templates for each client has been incredibly useful for my workflow. What really stands out to me lately is how Absorb has been stepping up with meaningful updates. They've gotten noticeably better at listening to users, and there's an ideas portal where I can suggest features or vote on other people's submissions. When an idea gains enough traction, they often follow through and either roll it out or give it a serious try. Having dependable customer service matters, too, my Client Success Manager, Jessica Pratti, is exceptional and has made a big difference.

Cons

Support from customer service was hit-or-miss until Jessica became our Client Success Manager. My teammate in India had difficulty following our previous manager's accent, so we asked if subtitles could be enabled during meetings. Although she initially agreed and we shared practical suggestions about what we needed, she abruptly became unhelpful and stopped collaborating with us. That led to an awkward workaround where we needed three Absorb reps on every call afterwards. It felt like we were being penalized for simply requesting accessibility accommodations and offering feedback. Also, response times for our questions could stand to be a lot quicker.

Comprehensive LMS with great versatility

Pros

Over the past ten years I've evaluated numerous learning management systems, and this platform really stands out for how it deals with complex organizational hierarchies. It supports a parent organization with multiple nested sub-organizations so well, each sub-org can have its own courses, users, administrators and totally isolated data. I particularly like that each division can personalize its portal with distinct branding, logos and color palettes. For the network of public agencies I work with, that multi-tiered design fits our needs exceptionally well and has been nearly flawless in practice.

Cons

What's most annoying to me is the way enrollments and completion tracking are handled. In large organizations like ours, where multiple sub-departments pull from a shared central course catalog, you run into problems when trying to re-enroll people for annual compliance courses if each department insists on managing its own schedule. Those re-enrollment workflows can block us and make it hard to keep everyone compliant on the timelines each department prefers.

Smart search and nice looks

Pros

I've found the intelligent course search to be an absolute game-changer compared with our old setup. The interface is visually appealing and learners seem to find it very simple to use. The reporting tools are excellent as well. Our client success manager, Melissa Wu, was always quick to respond whenever we had questions while learning the ropes. Having a dedicated person who walked us step-by-step through the platform, assisted with the interface layout and helped resolve problems really made a huge difference.

Cons

the unenroll option is a little hard to locate because it's tucked away under the three-dots menu, it would be far more user-friendly as a standalone icon that's quicker to spot. I'd also love a feature allowing users to request courses they're interested in, sign up for a waitlist and then receive a notification once we add those subjects to the platform. That kind of workflow would make managing learner demand and expectations a lot simpler.

Clean look and helpful guide

Pros

From a student's point of view the interface feels really clean, modern and visually appealing which makes using the product pleasant. On the admin side I have the ability to create and organize folders which is incredibly useful for keeping all our materials neat and easy to find. What I value most is how accessible and informed our customer service rep is, she's always ready when I run into issues or feel unsure about the best course of action. She sends clear, detailed instructions often with helpful screenshots and if that still doesn't fix things she'll willingly jump on a Zoom call and patiently walk me through the steps without ever making me feel awkward about asking questions.

Cons

using the admin area is pretty confusing and I can't seem to figure out how to properly organize or filter brand information in a way that makes sense. I'd really appreciate step-by-step tutorials or guided walkthroughs whenever they change the layout because updates leave me guessing about what's new and where things moved.

Modern look that you can change

Pros

Honestly, I am really impressed by the way the interface looks and by the depth of customization available for admin tasks. It's also remarkably interactive for learners, which really aligns our training sessions. This is precisely the kind of up-to-date tech solution our team has been searching for.

Cons

what annoyed me was that I couldn't unenroll from online courses but the latest AE update resolved that issue. Since then, I haven't experienced any other glitches or complications, so everything has been running smoothly.

very flexible solution

Pros

I've really come to value how thorough and adaptable the management system is, since it gives me ample opportunity to tailor and experiment with my configurations. Being able to assemble courses, curricula, and bundles in multiple layouts while blending both unique and shared content items has proven very useful. The dev team regularly ships enhancements and fresh capabilities that I can plug into my workflow immediately.

Cons

At times new features feel like they're rushed and don't deliver meaningful benefits. Several updates appear tailored for much smaller organizations and in practice complicate our processes instead of simplifying them. I really want to have more input over the timing and manner in which updates are deployed.

great guide but setup has limits

Pros

Our Client Success Manager, Olga Mendoza is phenomenal, whenever we hit snags, whether it's an issue reported by users or an internal problem, she's always there to help and consistently comes up with a solution for us.

Cons

I've found the course setup to be pretty limiting, for example the lesson description field tops out at 4000 characters, which doesn't always leave me enough space. The credit field is frustrating because it won't let me enter decimal points when I need to input whole numbers in the 'Amount Awarded' area. Also, the survey evaluations are cumbersome, you have to hit submit after every single item instead of submitting everything in one go and that quickly becomes tedious.

very simple software with excellent support

Pros

The core features are pretty interactive to learn and their Academy is genuinely useful when I'm trying to dive into the more advanced capabilities, plus, the newly added ideas portal is a pleasant bonus that I appreciate.

Cons

I'd like the ability to change what learners are shown without jumping through so many hoops, because the reporting tools also feel too rigid and would benefit from greater flexibility. Overall the learner journey comes across as a bit clumsy and could really use some polishing and simplification to run more smoothly.

Smoothest Setup Experience Ever

Pros

I've had a great experience with the support team, they take the time to guide me through setup and explain any questions clearly so I'm never left hanging. Their response times have impressed me, and the platform itself is very interactive, all of our users worldwide find it simple to use and use.

Cons

I occasionally find myself puzzled by what the various roles and permissions really entail but whenever I reach out support consistently helps clarify everything for me.

Highly recommend this platform daily

Pros

I have full control over customization on the platform which I truly value. As an admin I can tailor nearly everything to suit our needs and at the same time regular users still get a simple, clean and easy interface that's easy to use.

Cons

So far, I haven't found any situations where it fails to meet my needs. From a user's perspective the visuals could use a refresh and feel a bit dated but honestly that's a minor issue and doesn't affect how I use it day to day.

Intuitive, Adaptable System

Pros

The simplicity of the system - back end and front end - have made the implementation and launch of our Absorb LMS very straightforward. My company has some unique use cases, and my implementation manager, [sensitive content hidden], workshopped a number of issues with me, and together we came up with effective solutions. The ease of uploading content has meant that I have had the opportunity to test various course set-ups very quickly.

Cons

Our courses require individualized feedback for assessments, and currently, Absorb is not set up to allow for this in a comprehensive manner.

Covers all we need!

Pros

This platform provides everything we require to train our team members effectively. Our customer success manager, Taylor Gormley, has been immensely supportive and consistently finds time to talk us through any questions we have. She genuinely understands how to guide us toward the most efficient approaches for getting things done.

Cons

What frustrates me most is that we still have to manually update the user counts in ILCs each time someone signs up for a single session. Ideally that update would occur automatically on enrollment. I understand they're addressing this in the new learner platform, though.

Excellent Interface and Outstanding Support

Pros

What really stands out to me is Tamar's genuine curiosity about my experience, she's not just trying to patch things up, she actually digs in to figure out what's causing the problem from the outset.

Cons

I find the system pretty inflexible, with a lot of strict rules and too many 'that's just how it works' answers whenever I ask for flexibility to meet our organization's particular needs.

Fast help & efficient tool!

Pros

Their support staff respond incredibly quickly and are really helpful. I like how clean and instinctive the features are, everything just clicks when I use it.

Cons

reporting tools are fairly limited and my managers still can't get a clear view of what their direct reports are doing. I've heard both problems will be fixed soon.

Absorb is awesome!

Pros

Absorb's platform is very intuitive to use and well-designed. Customer support is excellent. Our Client Success Manager, Stephanie, is always quick to respond to our questions, discuss ideas and suggestions, or help with anything else we might need. The help desk support system is also very responsive and helpful with tickets and projects. Absorb continuously improves its products and functionality in meaningful ways, which has allowed us to successfully manage our learning and development programs to train our large and rapidly growing company using Absorb's platform!

Cons

No dislikes - Absorb has released updates with solutions to the problem areas we used to have. Absorb should continue to provide excellent customer service and quick responses to customer suggestions.
