Subscription model bothers me

Pros

I can develop content fast with this platform. The built-in content library is a game-changer. It lets me create high-quality materials without having to hunt down character packs or other external resources.

Cons

I wish I could host content independently on my iPad but that's not an option. Also the subscription model bothers me since you're not actually owning the software, just renting it.

can publish across multiple devices

Pros

Creating accessible content for everyone is simple with this platform. Our organization really values making learning available to both our team and the clients we serve and this tool has significantly enhanced our approach to accessibility. Being able to publish across multiple devices has been a game-changer for reaching our lawyers during outreach work in remote locations.

Cons

I'm not thrilled about paying monthly for software but since we're already locked into Adobe's subscription setup it made the transition easier. Our company's network restrictions have caused some headaches with installing and updating, though we eventually got those sorted out.

Simplicity stands out

Pros

I'm really impressed by how simple everything is. Having all the elearning tools bundled together makes this a complete solution for whatever project I'm working on. Whether you're just getting started or you've been developing courses for years, it adapts to your skill level perfectly. What really stands out is that I can get someone up and running with it in just one day.

Cons

The initial releases had some annoying little bugs and moving complex components between different scenes and projects isn't as simple as I'd like. Adobe Captivate handles this much better. But Honestly there's always going to be something that bothers you with any software.

Superb content library

Pros

The content library is a game-changer since I don't have to worry about royalties or spend hours searching for media. Regular updates keep improving every component, which shows they're really committed to growing this suite. What excites me most is how it unlocks deeper solutions beyond just standalone content like using object collision for game development. The review feature addresses QA concerns perfectly because I can see exactly what issues reviewers are experiencing and when.

Cons

Since it just launched, there are still some kinks that need working out. The pricing feels steep for freelancers like me, though I'm hoping they'll address this down the road. I was expecting more of a revolutionary leap from Storyline 2 but since this isn't actually Storyline 3, I can live with the incremental improvements. Studio and Replay feel somewhat redundant at this point and might be pulling development resources away from the more valuable parts of the suite.

Not sure about the approach

Pros

The responsive design feature is definitely a step forward and having Rise as a mobile-first option comes in really handy for my projects.

Cons

I have some doubts about whether this new business approach will suit everyone who's been using Storyline 2 for years, especially since there's no way to convert 360 projects back to version 2. plus I expect 360 will probably have bugs and issues for several more months.

User-friendly option

Pros

Really user-friendly coming from PowerPoint and Rise's accessibility features are brilliant.

Cons

Price is on the higher side when you compare it to other options out there.

No complaints

Pros

I love how comprehensive this platform is. Storyline helps me build gorgeous e-learning courses with such an user-friendly interface while Rise is perfect when I need something quick and simple. The screencasting capabilities through Replay are solid too. What really makes it shine though is Review, being able to collaborate with colleagues and subject matter experts has been invaluable for my workflow.

Cons

Nothing really bothers me about this software.

Frequent updates

Pros

The complete toolkit I need for creating top-notch e-learning content for all my clients is right here. Storyline 360 really raised the bar with HTML5-only publishing, touch screen gestures, responsive player and tons more features. The Review and Content Library tools have transformed my workflow in incredible ways. Rise appears to be the future of browser-authoring tools, creating gorgeous e-learning that's completely responsive. Really appreciate the frequent updates too.

Cons

The subscription model only offers yearly payments, which might not work for everyone's budget. Would be nice to have monthly payment options with maybe a discount for those who still want to pay annually.

Love the responsive authoring feature

Pros

The responsive authoring feature has been effective. I used to get constant complaints about text being unreadable on mobile devices but this completely eliminates that problem. The pinch zoom functionality is an incredible bonus too!

Cons

I don't really have any complaints but the Preso feature isn't something I find myself needing much. Honestly you'd probably get better results going with Storyline instead.

Complete solution

Pros

I really appreciate how complete this package is. It brings together so many features that you'd normally have to get from multiple different programs. I was part of the beta testing phase, which was pretty exciting. Even though we haven't bought it yet since we already have Storyline 1 and 2 plus Articulate Studio with most of the components, I can see the value. There are definitely some fresh updates and unique features that would be a real asset for any company working on e-learning development.

Cons

The yearly renewal fees are pretty steep and while I get that most software companies are moving to this model, it's just not feasible for a small business like mine with a tight budget.

Outstanding support

Pros

I've been working with these products for years and always recommend them over competitors like Adobe Captivate. The interface is clean and their customer support team is outstanding. The 360 suite really raised the bar by including features that eLearning professionals have been requesting for ages. Review stands out as particularly useful since it organizes the entire feedback process and makes collaboration so much easier.

Cons

The software is pretty new so there are still some bugs being worked out. While the team does listen to feedback and rolls out improvements quickly, the updated pricing can be tough on freelancers, small businesses and educational users, it's definitely more expensive than before.

Great experience so far

Pros

I get access to the complete software suite plus two new screen-casting tools and four web-based ones. The subscription model is similar to Adobe's Creative Cloud approach, which means I receive regular updates with both minor bug fixes and major feature improvements. Our current processes will need time to fully utilize everything but what I've experienced so far has been impressive!

Cons

Subscription setup is pretty frustrating since you can't pick and choose what you actually need and everything gets bundled together into one big annual payment. We barely touch Studio and have only used Replay maybe five times total so paying for features we don't really use feels like a waste. Would be great if they let you build your own custom package so you're only paying for what you'll actually use.

Perfect Solution for My Needs

Continues to improve

Pros

I've been using this since the beta of version 1 and it continues to improve with each iteration. The addition of the tool suite really elevated things for me. Rise stands out as my favorite and the fully responsive design capabilities are fantastic. Review is another gem that makes collaboration between developers and subject matter experts so much smoother. The faster update cycle they've implemented is a huge bonus too.

Cons

My biggest gripe is that you can't pick and choose individual licenses, it's all or nothing. Don't get me wrong, everything in the suite is solid but it would be nice to just grab what you actually need instead of paying for the whole package.

Always evolving

Pros

Impressed with how it keeps evolving with every update. It genuinely feels like the team is always learning and improving. The review feature has become my go-to tool because it makes the whole customer and SME feedback process so much smoother and everyone ends up happier as a result. Can't thank the developers enough for such solid work.

Cons

Not enough hours to really dive into all the new features and explore everything it offers!

Ease of use

Pros

Appreciate how user-friendly it is. The graphic design tools are solid, animations work smoothly and reviewing content is super efficient. Pretty much everything you'd want is built right in.

Cons

Honestly there's not much I can complain about. The pricing could be a bit lower though I understand it's fairly reasonable for what you get. My main wish would be the ability to export courses as MP4 files. I know that's probably a big change but it would save us tons of time.

Extremely responsive

Pros

I think it handles the entire e-learning development workflow really well. What really stands out is how responsive it's become. Creating mobile-friendly content is finally simple.

Excellent mobile preview feature

Pros

Great being able to review CBTs and leave feedback without having to install the development software myself. The mobile preview feature is also a nice touch, helps me see exactly how everything will appear on different devices.

Cons

The annual subscription cost is why my company sticks with Storyline 2. We prefer the one-time purchase over recurring fees. When Articulate 360 publishes content, it creates different file names than what we used before. If we switched to this version, I'd have to manually update links for every single eLearning course in our LMS.

Useful collaborative discussions

Pros

The HTML publishing updates are great. The responsive design works perfectly across all the different devices my team uses. Being able to share content with subject matter experts for feedback has created some really productive collaborative discussions.

Cons

I'm not a fan of how they bundle basic software like Presenter with the package for individual users. Either someone can handle advanced development work or they can't. Throwing in a PowerPoint-based presentation tool feels like an odd choice that doesn't really fit.

Easy to understand

Pros

The range of development, support and delivery tools are amazing. What really stands out is how easy everything is to pick up. There's hardly any learning curve at all. You can jump in and start creating content within minutes and the interface feels natural.

Cons

Right now I can't think of anything that really bothers me about it. The only thing I would've preferred is having a monthly payment option instead.
