Best e-learning software

Pros

It's user-friendly, comprehensive, and well-supported, with a vast library and continuous updates. The programming interface is simple and organized, supporting several Scorm formats, along with 360 images.

Cons

It tends to break when using many triggers, especially on object interceptions. It's still not well-prepared for gamification, and there are some minor bugs (which are common in all software). Additionally, it's not content-responsive (although it's window-responsive) and offers few effects.

Awesome product to support endless creativity

Pros

Articulate is incredibly powerful software. It offers immense flexibility and operates efficiently.

Cons

The learning curve is steep. It takes time to navigate through the tool, but with so many options available, it's hardly surprising.

Versatile and User friendly

Pros

I highly value the flexibility to personalize activities, empowering me as an author to determine how employees engage with the information. This level of customization plays a pivotal role in ensuring effective training and learning, and the setup process, aided by user-friendly templates, is straightforward and hassle-free.

Cons

Although they provide ample training information, mastering all the available features takes time and effort. Moreover, templates are limited to specific subjects.

Good program but slow file conversion

Pros

The screen recording option is superb, with immediate file saving to disk. It's easy to use, with a rich graphics library and the option to add quizzes to presentations, along with direct PowerPoint integration.

Cons

File conversion to LMS format is very slow compared to the competition. There are many options (not very intuitive) to set during conversion, and the price is higher compared to competitors.

Best authoring tool

Pros

Articulate offers a suite of products catering to various training needs. For quick, interactive training, RISE is ideal, while for more complex and robust training, STORYLINE is better suited. The assets provided are extensive and robust.

Cons

The price point for an individual license is a bit high. However, if that's the only drawback, it's definitely worth the investment.

Articulate 360 has helped us modernize our training

Pros

The aesthetic appeal and freedom are remarkable. Previously, I felt constrained in what I could create, often resorting to complex workarounds. Thankfully, that's now a thing of the past.

Cons

The learning curve is significant. Without training, these programs can be challenging to grasp. Many people don't have the time to watch training videos or learn through trial and error. Additionally, not everyone is adept at using software like this. While the interface may resemble simpler programs like PowerPoint, it's much more complex to use.

Articulate 360 for eLearning

Pros

What I love most is how user-friendly it is, similar to starting with PPT for basic projects. Yet, the potential with Articulate is boundless, enabling vast interactivity. Articulate 360 comes as a full suite of diverse tools.

Cons

Rise has some limitations that I hope will be addressed in the future, such as developing templates and being able to share products across teams without sharing them with the entire department.

Articulate 360 training

Pros

Articulate is the most user-friendly software for e-learning development. Its interface closely resembles other web products, making programming as simple as setting a couple of triggers. You can create captivating interactions in minutes.

Cons

It would be great if Articulate Rise offered more customization options for the appearance.

Easy and Powerful

Pros

Articulate 360 offers a complete suite of powerful software that's easy to learn and use, including Storyline 360. Whether you're a seasoned professional or a novice, the available training and community support are unparalleled.

Cons

Templates can be easily built and reused for Storyline but not as easily for Rise. There have been a few issues with certain fonts not being supported, but the help desk got back to me (almost 8 months later) when the issue was resolved. The content library is extensive and included, but it doesn't load more than around 20 pictures at a time.

The best option for now, but lots of room for improvement

Pros

Articulate Rise is currently my preferred tool for developing simple web-based training. It's incredibly easy to build visually appealing and responsive courses that are easy to navigate, with excellent interactive elements that work seamlessly across devices.

Cons

Support and frequency of updates are atrocious. I've never encountered such poor support or such slow delivery of updates and new features. Many basic feature requests submitted by hundreds of users across multiple tools within the 360 suite have been "in development" for over 4 years. In the 3 years I've used the toolset, bug fixes and feature updates have been so infrequent that they're almost nonexistent.

Some of the best training experiences

Pros

We've begun using trainings created in Articulate, and I've had the opportunity to participate in content creation alongside the instructional designer. A few highlights include the ability to load various media types, smooth navigation through training modules, and the option for testers to leave notes for feedback.

Cons

Based on my last experience, the only drawback we encountered was that sometimes the course would close, causing participants to lose their progress. This doesn't happen often, and it hadn't occurred in previous courses I took in Articulate, so it might be an isolated incident. Fortunately, the course sections allowed us to easily resume from where we left off.

Great Product

Pros

Articulate stands out among the few products on the market, surpassing others. While there may be occasional technical issues and notoriously poor customer service, I would still recommend it to anyone building e-learning courses.

Cons

Customer service is notoriously terrible.

An e-learning must!

Pros

Articulate Storyline is our preferred choice, thanks to its ease of use, resembling PowerPoint in terms of interface familiarity. Finding and editing elements is effortless.

Cons

There are some tasks that require research to accomplish on the software, and they often get discussed on Articulate's forum. I wish they added new features more frequently, with more updates. For instance, there's no specific "timer" option on evaluations. This could easily be added, but it requires programming. That's how I've managed to implement it, at least.
