“Incredibly helpful for language learning
Pros
I recently watched a TED Talk about language learning. I have been struggling to learn French and really need to learn it now that I live in a French-speaking country. The presenter emphasized how helpful images are on flashcards. With Brainscape, I can make my own cards and add any pictures I want which has been incredibly helpful.
Cons
I really dislike paying for apps, so the price is the main drawback. Still, I think the investment is justified.

“Study system built around repetition
Pros
Brainscape is a study system built around deliberate, meaningful repetition. With complex topics, it's often not just about knowing or not knowing something. I like that it uses a confidence scale to show flashcards at varying intervals. I also value the practical guides for certifications and exams, written by instructors who actually teach those subjects. Seriously, you don't need to look elsewhere as I am sure its simple study workflow will help me pass my upcoming WSET and CMS exams.
Cons
I'd love for Brainscape to offer more interactive options to actively engage with topics, content and terms over time.

“Fan of spaced repetition system
Pros
I am a fan of the spaced repetition system for flashcards. I also likebeing able to include images and music with my cards and that they're easily organized into decks.
Cons
Only problem is that it doesn't provide a direct link to copyright-free images.

“Pre-made flashcards for immediate study
Pros
I like that the app comes with pre-made, vetted flashcards that help when studying for professional certifications. I could dive in immediately without gathering study materials first. Their spaced-repetition algorithm lets me focus on learning instead of managing a study timetable. Swapping doomscrolling for study time is surprisingly easy.
Cons
The subscription cost is quite high which is a downside. But so far, I haven't found any other problems.

“simple flashcards across five levels
Pros
Its flashcards are simple to use and arranged across five distinct proficiency levels. Filtering cards by level makes it simpler to systematically strengthen what I have learned and retain it efficiently.
Cons
I have only used it for a few weeks while studying for my WSET Level 4 D4 Sparkling Wines exam and I cannot point to anything I dislike. It has been a genuinely helpful study aid so far.

“Really like the self-grading feature
Pros
I really like the self-grading feature because it lets me influence how often each card gets repeated.
Cons
I'd like the mobile app to let me sort cards within a deck as that would be really useful.

“Reliable for structured study routine
Pros
I rely heavily on it in my study routine, especially while preparing for my WSET Level 3 exams. Sorting material into clear categories and having a large number of flashcards makes learning and reviewing less of a chore and more efficient. I like how it breaks the syllabus into units that correspond to the original textbook, helping me stay targeted and keep my revision structured. This removes the temptation to draw skewed links between topics which I find helpful. Setup was simple too and took no time. So I am happy to recommend it without hesitation and I'd give it a 10 out of 10 for how likely I am to suggest it to others.
Cons
Brainscape could improve the materials for the short written-answer part of the WSET Level 3 exam. More practice prompts that mirror the exact way answers must be written would better prepare candidates.

“create and share classes easily
Pros
I can create classes and share them with friends or they can share their classes with me, cutting down setup time. This lets me spend less time arranging materials and more time studying.
Cons
One and only complaint is that the AI feature is restricted to a premium subscription. I'd use Brainscape even more with easier access to that tool.

“essential with great community feature
Pros
I recently started using it to prepare for a public exam and it's quickly become essential. I open the app daily. Plus I really like the community feature is good as connecting with other learners and using flashcards made by people tackling the same topics saves time and offers different perspectives. The layout is simple, neat and easy to navigate, so I spend almost no time figuring out the app and more time reviewing. Setup was easy and required no technical know-how. Adding and editing cards is pretty easy. Decks, stacks and classes keep resources tidy, helping me break large subjects into bite-sized chunks and organize material when studying with classmates. The ranking feature is motivating as it adds a playful, competitive element that keeps me consistent. AI tools guide my review sessions, recommending what to revisit so my time feels productive. Cross-platform sync between phone, tablet and desktop makes studying seamless. Overall, BrainScape gives me an efficient, well-thought-out learning environment I plan to rely on.
Cons
While it works well for studying, a few areas need improvement. Text formatting options are limited as bold or italics can be hit-or-miss because the editor is picky about spacing, leading to inconsistent results. Numbered lists often have display glitches, especially on mobile where layout breaks. These formatting issues sometimes slow me down and force me to fix formatting instead of studying. It would be convenient if the app could automatically shuffle a deck on the first study session instead of always presenting cards in the order they were created. The AI tools work well but lean heavily on a Question-Answer format. I'd welcome more card types like True/False, definition-matching or cloze hide-and-reveal cards to make study sessions more engaging and suited to different content.

“incredibly useful for revision
Pros
Over the last two months, it has been incredibly useful for my A-Level business revision. I like that each flashcard lets me score my confidence from 1 to 5, so I can clearly see how well I understand each topic. This confidence rating makes it easy to monitor progress and identify where to focus. I also like their email support as they help tweak and improve my flashcards, making memorization less daunting. Setup was quick and painless as I made a set, added a new deck and everything was immediately available, letting me jump into study sessions right away.
Cons
I find it a bit repetitive and not as engaging as I hoped. It relies heavily on the same flashcard format and mixing in other assessment types like short quizzes, interactive practice questions or spaced mini-tests would break the monotony. Adding AI features to generate adaptive questions or suggest weaker areas could also make the app more effective and interesting. Overall, I like the concept but it could benefit from a broader range of testing methods.

“Adaptive spaced repetition for faster recall
Pros
With Brainscape's adaptive spaced repetition and confidence ratings, I recall complex subjects like WSET Level 3 faster and more reliably, so my study time pays off. The mix of top-notch decks, a tidy interface and clear analytics helps me maintain a steady routine. The WSET Level 3 decks, put together by experts, break down large topics into digestible, memorable pieces. The app feels sleek and snappy, lowering friction and keeping me focused during short study bursts. Progress charts and reminder nudges keep me accountable and prepared as exams approach. Syncing between web and mobile is flawless, so I can study anywhere. I can also build custom decks with images to target weak areas and offline mode is great for quick reviews on the go.
Cons
My biggest complaint is that import/export is pretty restricted. True two-way Anki or CSV support and preserving media when importing/exporting would make me feel less trapped on the platform.

“Free trial takes you to a threshold
Pros
This flashcard app flawlessly implements spaced repetition. The algorithm adapts the content to the learner's level and reinforces weak areas over time. Additionally, it offers detailed progress tracking, which is a significant advantage.
Cons
During the free trial, there are limitations, and at a certain point, I felt it wasn't sufficient, which tempted me to upgrade to the pro version. Additionally, subject coverage can be a limitation as different learners may desire to access other content as well.
