“simple platform layout”
Pros
I've found the platform really easy to use. Everything is laid out clearly and feels simple.
Cons
However not every assessment offers the cut-and-paste and spell-check tools which I find limiting.

“flexible course components”
Pros
Honestly I love that there are so many course component choices, they make it easy to put together something that feels polished and professional while still leaving room to add upgrades later. Back when I worked on courses before, launches could get pushed back forever or even dropped completely. With Matrix, I can at least publish a basic version quickly and then boost the "wow" factor as the rest of the course gets developed. It also gives me the chance early on to judge whether the layout and flow are working before I pour time and money into more complex features.
Cons
To be frank I find a lot of the customization options to be more noise than value for my needs. Far too many settings and checkboxes crowd the interface when I'm just trying to stand up a course. I've managed to learn the ropes but there were numerous times I had to reach out to support for things that really ought to be obvious. A good example is publishing: when I put a course in the catalog, I have to remember to uncheck the "contact me" box and nowhere does it tell me that. Other areas are similar and the frustration is amplified because I can't open the help guide in a separate window to follow step-by-step while I work.

“outdated interface & weak support”
Pros
When I first signed up a few years back it was really affordable but since then the cost has more than doubled. I do appreciate the platform's great customization options and integrations and they push out new features fairly often which seems to be their excuse for raising prices.
Cons
Honestly the interface feels dated and clunky and I've noticed support is limited to their forum which isn't ideal when you need timely help. Reporting is a real pain and their API feels underpowered for what I need. They tout the Common Cartridge as an industry standard but in my experience that format isn't as widely supported as they claim. Navigation and general UX aren't simple and the course creator is missing essential features I expect. The price has more than doubled since we signed up which stings. Their documentation could be much better organized and easier to find, a proper documentation page would beat the tiny in-app popups. On top of that, their xAPI functionality is weak and tricky to set up. Because of all these problems, we're already in the process of moving away from Matrix.

“User-friendly & affordable tool”
Pros
I appreciate how easy it is to use. Matrix LMS feels incredibly user-friendly and has given me the tools I need to take charge of my own learning, allowing me to finish trainings and tasks with ease. It's a simple, convenient way to expand my business prospects and the pricing is very reasonable so I feel it's definitely worth the cost. I absolutely love it!
Cons
Honestly I can't think of anything I dislike about Matrix LMS.

“feature-rich learner interface”
Pros
As a student user, I found the interface to be very thorough and feature-rich for learners. I appreciated that it could import SCORM files and offered detailed engagement analytics so I could see how learners interacted with the material.
Cons
At first I struggled to locate the administrative tools because they aren't very simple, it took me a while to become familiar with where everything lived. I also feel the pricing is steep for smaller teams.

“UI needs refresh...”
Pros
I like the course catalog, the organizations and custom portals and the gradebook.
Cons
Honestly the UI could use a refresh and customer service can be really frustrating, they tend to jump to conclusions or push fixes before they fully grasp the problem. I also find the course creation options too limited and easy suggestions or update requests that should be easy wins are routinely ignored.

“appealing UX & features”
Pros
I really appreciate the appearance and user experience of Matrix, it offers many features without being overwhelming.
Cons
I'm not thrilled with how the bulk upload functions, it feels glitchy and not simple. I'd also like their reporting tools to be simpler to interpret and work through. Beyond the preset template reports, I regularly struggle to extract the specific data I need in the format I prefer which is frustrating.

“Convenient navigation”
Pros
User interface is easy to navigate and it's simple for me to guide students to the right sections.
Cons
Personally I find the grading tools could use improvement and the word-processing in the messaging area is lacking. Also I would like the option to download every assignment at once instead of fetching them one by one.

“online assignment setup”
Pros
I'm able to set up assignments and grade them online
Cons
Unfortunately not being able to mark attendance or design assignments with more extensive online content is limiting, I end up using Google Classroom for those richer assignments and relying on Aeries just to record attendance.

“Great for grading & resource sharing”
Pros
I find the grading tools and rubrics let me give students instant reports on their performance and I also appreciate being able to share assignments with colleagues making resources simple for students to access.
Cons
In my experience finding specific assignments is time-consuming because I can't narrow searches quickly enough, I often have to wade through a long list instead of applying filters to limit results. Also the analytics feel very restricted within our organization, or at least that's how they appear to me.

“efficient communication & assessments”
Pros
My experience lets me flip a wide range of lessons while still weaving in assessment tools and I also find that NEO Messages make communicating with both students and parents extremely efficient.
Cons
I haven't been able to get Google Assignments to work properly for me so clearer interface design or a easy tutorial for teachers and students alike would really help.

“Embedding & organizing resources”
Pros
I'm really pleased that it's so easy to embed images, photos and PDFs for my students along with other useful resources. It's simple to navigate and having everything gathered in one place makes organizing coursework much easier.
Cons
I find it frustrating that the formatting sometimes shifts when I copy a document into an assignment and that students' typing can occasionally vanish because their work gets deleted. I'd love it if the platform auto-saved changes continually like Google Docs so nothing is lost mid-work. Also, having a feature that lets me watch students write in real time would be incredibly helpful for tracking their progress and intervening when needed.

“aligned online training”
Pros
Using Matrix LMS made our online training and onboarding process feel a lot more aligned and I found the interface really easy and simple to use from the beginning.
