“Priority issues...
Pros
For our team, online proctoring works really well and because instructors have been using this platform for a while they feel comfortable navigating its features during exams.
Cons
I've noticed we've faced more problems than we usually do since our chain of contacts was restructured and there are moments when it honestly feels like we're not treated as a priority customer, on several occasions a proctor either failed to reach out to an instructor when they should have or, worse, neglected to implement the specific accommodations that were recorded for a student.

“Integral to business model
Pros
I've maintained a long-standing partnership with this platform and I genuinely appreciate how integral it has become to our business model, since it gives us continual support, they enable round-the-clock access for our students and are able to resolve many problems independently so we don't have to escalate every single issue back to the University. Although the overall process can sometimes be exasperating, they consistently try to improve the experience for all students.
Cons
For many of our students, I'd like to see significantly more effort devoted to making this platform compatible with Chromebooks, because that compatibility would remove a major barrier to access and be highly meaningful for a sizable portion of our learner population.

“Unpredictable Platform Quality
Pros
As local support staff, we've found that the reporting and notification workflow features actually let us be part of the process with faculty, enabling us to stay informed, chime in when necessary and help guide follow-up actions.
Cons
I've had mixed experiences with the platform's quality, the initial Guardian browser launch caused significant problems for us and flagged sessions have produced inconsistent results, so I can't always rely on it to behave predictably.

“Home exam convenience
Pros
I really appreciate that I and other students can take the exam from the convenience of our homes which saves travel time and reduces stress.
Cons
However, I've found that many students, including myself at times, struggle to set up the testing platform and then face problems interacting with proctors which can be frustrating and time-consuming.

“Simple for configuration
Pros
I find it incredibly easy to configure and in practice my students rarely run into problems.
Cons
From my perspective, the price can be a real hurdle for learners, because LCC is located in a rural community, the cost often keeps some students from being able to use it.

“Proctor Delays Ruined My Exam Session
Pros
Honestly, the whole experience left me extremely frustrated and I couldn't find anything positive about it.
Cons
I ended up sitting in screen-sharing mode for more than an hour while waiting for Examity's proctor to arrive for my Salesforce AP exam which completely disrupted my testing session and convinced me I won't be returning to this platform.

“Strict, unclear rules
Pros
Taking exams from home is convenient and saves travel time, but that convenience came with so many downsides that it complicated the process.
Cons
In my experience it bills itself as an online testing option but don't be misled into thinking it functions like a traditional testing center, I found their monitoring rules to be surprisingly strict and not clearly communicated. For instance, I was quietly speaking the questions to myself to make sure I understood them, something many people do to organize their thoughts and the system flagged my session for academic misconduct. Because of that automated or manual flag, my professor gave me a zero on the exam even though there was no prior warning during the test about speaking aloud. The whole situation felt unfair and after this episode I'm convinced I won't trust or use their service again.

“confusing student directions
Pros
Almost nothing about this tool feels redeeming to me beyond online proctoring and even that seems barely adequate.
Cons
From my experience, the student-facing directions are thin and confusing and I often get annoyed because the language and labels shift between pages which makes following steps harder than it should be, additionally, the recent browser mandate locks out Chromebook users entirely, preventing them from accessing this tool. When I look at the instructor side, it feels like the company has unilaterally decided how faculty should review exams, denying professors the ability to run basic searches without wading through years of archived tests and although I was told there is an option to request a tidy-up from someone at ProctorY, that process just wastes time.

“Glitchy website nightmare
Pros
Examity has no features I find remotely likable and I genuinely can't think of any redeeming aspects.
Cons
Honestly, every aspect of this service has been a fiasco for me and the basic website functions simply do not work reliably which turns what should be a easy login into a recurring headache. I have no idea why it is still allowed to operate or why it hasn't been shut down altogether, because dealing with their agents and a glitchy platform has caused me more frustration and stress than almost anything else I've used online. Each time I try to sign in, I'm forced to contact an "expert" or agent who then has to send me a link and that repeated dependency is baffling and infuriating. It feels like the site is riddled with bugs and errors and I'm expected to clear, prepare and double-check a bunch of things just to get it to recognize my login which is absurd. I'm actively searching for every forum and platform where I can post the worst possible review and firmly believe this service should be taken offline permanently for the sake of all future test takers.

“Cancelled exams last-minute
Pros
This company ranks among the worst I've ever dealt with and I have nothing positive to say.
Cons
my experience was a nightmare, they insisted I use a new browser that plainly failed to function and even though I registered and booked my exam two weeks in advance, they ended up canceling it on the actual day, I still can't fathom how a company offering such an unreliable service stays in business, so I'm warning anyone considering them to steer clear no matter what, this whole service is awful.

“Inconsistent ID guidance
Pros
The experience was so poor that I have absolutely nothing positive to say and wouldn't recommend them to anyone.
Cons
I won't repeat the rude language that popped into my head about the service I received today because it isn't polite but to be blunt, the whole experience was unacceptable. Before the exam started I reached out via live chat to check whether the form of ID I planned to use would be okay and they explicitly confirmed it would be fine which gave me confidence to begin, moments later I was told that same ID was not acceptable. I informed them I would drive home to fetch an alternative and that I would return within the allotted timeslot and I did exactly that, yet when I came back I was told the exam had been cancelled with no clear instructions on how to rebook or what to do next. The lack of guidance and consistency was astonishing and left me completely stranded. Seeing that around ninety percent of the reviews here are one star, I now understand why and if any company is considering hiring Proctor to run online exams I urgently urge them to rethink that decision.

“Unrealistic verification rules
Pros
While the software itself offers a convenient interface and workflow, I think the support team made the process unnecessarily stressful, turning an otherwise handy app into a frustrating experience.
Cons
Regarding the actual exam experience, they flat-out refused to let me sit for a test I had already paid for simply because my state ID had recently expired and nobody made that limitation explicitly clear before I began the session, instead they kept repeating that they required a "valid" ID without explaining why an otherwise accurate and identifying card shouldn't suffice which felt arbitrary and infuriating. I tried to explain that in my situation all of the other personal details on the ID matched and that the document still proved my identity but they insisted the expiration date alone invalidated it and after asking for a refund I was treated dismissively, at one point they literally hung up on me and refused to help further. They even told me I needed to go to the DDS to renew the card within a two-hour window so I could take the exam, knowing full well DDS was closed at the time which is absurd and unrealistic for fully online students who don't get campus IDs and who may not own a passport for alternative verification. Had I read other people's accounts beforehand I would have avoided this service, because what should have been a easy, proctored midterm turned into a needlessly difficult ordeal that felt designed to frustrate students rather than verify them.

“Stressful technical issues
Pros
I couldn't find anything positive about the service and their privacy protections feel inadequate, so I'd choose an in-person session or a competitor instead.
Cons
My experience was terrible, I became extremely anxious before the exam even began, ended up losing work hours because of the ordeal and felt overwhelmed by how the technical support supposedly trying to help with my camera actually terminated the session via remote control in a way that made it appear as though I had ended it myself. When I attempted to get assistance and they reconnected me to a proctor, that proctor immediately shut down the session without offering any reason which compounded my stress on top of the exam and left me feeling that dealing with such avoidable, unexplained interruptions was simply not worth the pressure or the lost time.

“Access Code Chaos and Poor Support
Pros
After my issue wasn't resolved, they simply hung up on me, which was rude and left me with no intention of using or recommending this company.
Cons
I purchased a course and exam for six staff members at my nursing facility and after being handed an exam access code that ServSafe explicitly told me was the one to use, the whole process quickly turned into a nightmare. One of my employees was all set and had an appointment to take the exam through this tool, yet when the scheduled proctor logged in she was told she could not proceed, with it flatly refusing to accept the access code and redirecting us back to ServSafe, meanwhile ServSafe kept insisting that this was the correct code and that there was nothing more they could do from their end. When I politely requested to speak with a supervisor or manager at this platform to resolve the contradiction, the call was abruptly disconnected and I was hung up on which felt horribly unprofessional and dismissive. This level of service, being bounced between vendors and then literally hung up on, has left me furious and I will not use or recommend this company again.

“Not recommended!!
Pros
Okay so... I don't see any real benefits to using it.
Cons
Honestly, what bothers me most is that this company seems allowed to prey on students while creating a real security risk for any computer they touch, I was required to install their browser extension and a .exe that connects you to the proctoring "service," and on two separate occasions I found that .exe running in the background and scattered across three different directories on my machine. It had installed copies on each of my PC drives which forced me to hunt them down and delete them and the whole experience felt invasive and unnecessary. In my view, instructors should be responsible for supervising tests and exams rather than outsourcing that role to a third-party service.

“Proctor Bias Affects Exams
Pros
The available links and clean UI/UX design are about all I find useful as a user.
Cons
I find proctors often judge candidates by how they look and in my most recent exam I was dressed in business casual so they didn't ask about my testing area and I had zero interruptions.

“Overpriced and intrusive tool
Pros
I can't find a single thing I like and it feels like the company is taking advantage of students, which is disappointing and makes me distrustful.

“Distracting technical hiccups
Pros
Most of the proctors assigned to me were friendly, which made identity verification before exams almost effortless and overall using Examity felt simple and organized.
Cons
There were occasions when small technical hiccups would pop up and, because of that, I found it surprisingly distracting and difficult to maintain concentration during quizzes or exams, since sometimes my internet connection would drop unexpectedly.

“Lengthy setup stress
Pros
Honestly, I can't point to anything good about this system because the interface feels clumsy and not user-friendly at all.
Cons
Getting started alone takes me at least an hour and despite reaching out to support staff who couldn't resolve the issue, I end up feeling stressed right before exams which I honestly think undermines my performance.
