Working as an online professor, I'm really thankful for this simple, easy-to-implement service because it helps safeguard the academic integrity of my exams by monitoring potential misuse, proctors also update me in real time about student behavior during the test which provides peace of mind that students aren't relying on AI tools or collaborating with others while completing their assessments.
Cons
Occasionally I've seen students select the incorrect instructor when registering which can be frustrating but in my experience it's customer support acts quickly and efficiently to give those students another opportunity to enroll under the right instructor for the proper exam.

Cons

The suite has been invaluable for learners, teachers and administrators. Since it helps maintain academic integrity during final exams, we've been able to extend services beyond our usual geographic reach.
Cons
My experience is that technical problems in high-stakes final exam settings significantly ramp up students stress and although most glitches can be fixed, the small number that cannot are frequently escalated to higher support levels and tend to color people's overall impression of the platform, even though the vast majority of exams finish without incident.

It's readily available and allows my students to solve Excel problems without forcing a locked-down browser, which I really appreciate. Over five years, I haven't had any issues with the Guardian browser and the customer support has always been responsive.
Cons
As an instructor, I worry that the price can be a burden for some students and on occasion I've seen it have compatibility glitches with certain Mac setups which can be frustrating.

For students who are online-only or far from campus, this tool works really well. It's convenient for home testing and as an administrator, I like how the interface clearly shows all fundamental settings while offering extra options to enhance test security.

When speaking with students at my institution which I do frequently in my capacity as an administrator, I'm often the person they go to with complaints and over time I've heard about a handful of recurring negative experiences they encounter, including occasionally having to wait a long time before being connected to a live proctor and on some occasions, feeling that the proctors were not fully attentive during the exam.
