OKay so.... I've consistently found the proctors and the support representatives to be professional, knowledgeable and well-rounded in handling different situations.

In my experience, although it happens rarely, the system being used can sometimes run into issues that disrupt the flow.

“Dreadful proctoring

Last year the proctor assigned to me was courteous and professional and my exam went off without a hitch, there were no interruptions and nobody tried to unfairly penalize students during that session.

Last time I took the SJT exam it went smoothly but this time my experience with this tool was absolutely dreadful and left me frustrated the entire session. I ran into one proctor who behaved in a way I found unprofessional and seemingly intent on making the process difficult and when I politely asked her to repeat instructions because I couldn't follow her accent she didn't make any effort to clarify or accommodate me. The administrator repeatedly insisted she could not see me no matter how many times I adjusted my setup, even though my whole face was clearly visible on camera, because I use a desktop that doesn't allow me to zoom out to show my shoulder, I did everything I could to make sure my face was centered and compliant, yet that didn't seem to satisfy her. At the start she made me film my room three separate times and then told me that having a blank sheet of paper was not acceptable, so I removed it at her request and redid the recording but these demands felt increasingly arbitrary and personal as they went on and although I thought they were getting ridiculous I followed along just to get through the exam. I tried to sit as tall as possible to meet whatever visual standard they were implying but during the opening moments she interrupted me twice, drew red marks on the screen and insisted I lower the camera because they allegedly couldn't see me. I never touched the camera, maintained good posture and ensured my forehead to chin was visible, yet the same complaint kept coming from her and even from another proctor who started issuing commands mid-test to lower the camera, despite it remaining in the exact same position. That condescending tone lasted for about two minutes and, even after I made an immediate effort to appear taller in the frame, the interruptions continued and I eventually had to mute my entire computer just to regain focus. Their behavior ate into my time and made it impossible to concentrate at the beginning of the exam which is especially maddening for a relatively easy judgment-based test that isn't the kind of assessment where cheating would realistically be an issue. To make matters worse, after I completed the test and was filling out the anonymous post-exam survey I noticed the proctor had reconnected remote viewing while I was still providing feedback which felt like a serious invasion of my privacy. This was, without question, the worst proctoring interaction I have experienced and if the company allows employees to act like this it will negatively affect many other test-takers. I'm urging this tool to investigate and speak with these two individuals about their conduct, remind them of professional standards and reiterate the real goals of their role so future candidates aren't treated this way. When I installed the extension I noticed it already had a one-star rating and after going through this exam I now understand why that low score exists, I hope these comments raise enough concern to help prevent similar experiences for others who plan to use this tool.

Honestly, I couldn't find a single positive to point to, the people running this seem completely out of their depth and whenever I booked an exam I ended up adding twenty to thirty extra minutes just to navigate the chaos this tool creates.

Being forced to use this tool is a major downside for me, in my experience their process feels disorganized, is painfully slow and is governed by rules and policies that are applied inconsistently.

There's nothing redeeming about it, I wouldn't recommend it to anyone because it ended up costing me a lot and creating immense stress and in my experience it was hands-down the worst product I've used so avoid it completely and don't bother trying it.

After spending three hours in a live-chat session with an assistant who was trying to help me resolve the technical faults on this tool's end, I ultimately received no usable assistance and as a result I lost $180 for an exam I couldn't take, when an investigation was opened they denied the issue despite the fact that the entire three-hour transcript clearly showed the problem which meant I wasn't granted a refund and had to shell out another $180 to attempt the test again, their service failed me and their responses were dishonest. I feel utterly betrayed by them and cannot trust their support.

“Easy installation & workflow

Pros

For me, installing it was really simple and the workflow is really user-friendly, so I'm able to access and operate it effortlessly from any up-to-date web browser.

Cons

I've noticed that it only works with Google Chrome and I would prefer if it also supported Mozilla Firefox and other popular browsers.

Pros

I found the interface incredibly easy to navigate and because the proctors treated me with genuine kindness and showed flexibility when needed, the entire process felt remarkably smooth and easy to get through.

What frustrated me was the repetitive nature of some procedures, being asked to prove my identity at every session seemed redundant and added an unnecessary layer of tedium that slowed things down.

I'm really impressed by this tool's purpose and execution. It's an excellent platform for tracking students and visualizing their progress, making long-term monitoring both simple and insightful.

I'm not entirely sure whether a constant Wi-Fi connection is required for the entire duration of a test, since the guidance I've seen is unclear and leaves me wondering if offline interruptions might cause problems mid-exam.

That said, I sometimes experience a sluggish connection and on occasion the questionnaire appears duplicated which can be confusing.

There was one occasion when my mic stopped working and it took a while to get it fixed, though ultimately the problem was handled and resolved to my satisfaction.

Entire onboarding routine, from logging in and completing the ID checks to showing the proctor my room layout and revealing crib sheets or notes, can be somewhat tedious and time-consuming.

Pros

This service is not recommended. I found the experience unacceptable due to significant communication barriers with staff, combined with their evident lack of knowledge of macOS. As a result, the service was consistently unhelpful and I cannot consider it viable for users who require competent macOS support

Cons

When I take tests, the pressure is already high and the proctors often make it worse through their interactions, so I feel they urgently need far better training to recognize and respond to the stress test-takers face.

“Privacy concerns & LMS issues

Pros

Great tool.. I've found the platform addresses a clear need, or at least a perceived one, for administering remote, high-stakes exams where traditional in-person testing isn't possible.

Cons

Personally, I'm uneasy about the privacy implications of live proctoring for online exams and in most situations I believe it's wiser to redesign how we assess students rather than rely on constant surveillance, additionally, enrolling students in it feels overly manual and the connection with our LMS is clunky and far from simple.

“Unrealistic background demands

I got nothing out of it, even though I had expected it to make things a lot more convenient.

Overall, the whole experience was awful, because the demands they made about clearing items from my background and exactly where my desktop should be were completely unrealistic, leaving me frustrated and unable to use the service as I had hoped.

The overall experience had no real positives. My initial proctor was pleasant but that one good interaction was completely overshadowed by the significant problems that came after.

You won't believe this but the software crashed in the middle of my GRE session, it abruptly closed which canceled the exam, voided my scores and left me unable to resume or complete the test, that technical failure alone was catastrophic. To make matters worse, the second proctor proved utterly incompetent, responding intermittently if at all and sitting idle for such an extended stretch that the application ultimately shut down and my exam was terminated, leaving me with no recourse.

There's almost nothing I can praise about the experience, while my initial proctor was courteous enough, any small positives were completely overshadowed by the many problems I encountered.

I took the GRE yesterday and came away extremely dissatisfied with this tool's service and support. To begin with, I had not been informed ahead of time that I would need to download the LogMeIn application, so my appointment started with me waiting for the installer to download and then walking through the setup process which needlessly ate into my scheduled testing time and raised my anxiety about missing portions of the exam. In addition, nobody told me I would have to enable specific permissions for the proctor, such as screen sharing and mouse control, which again required further configuration during the session and cost me additional time. All of this meant that I wasn't actually able to start the test until roughly thirty minutes into my 1,00 pm slot. During the exam, the proctor adjusted several settings on my computer, presumably to enforce anti-cheating measures, but I was never informed which particular settings were modified and frustratingly those changes were not reverted when I finished testing, so I'm now left having to investigate and restore my original settings the day after. My initial proctor was courteous enough but I didn't have a chance to speak with her until just before the test launched, unexpectedly, I was switched to a second proctor partway through, a change I had not been warned about and that second person never spoke to me verbally, relying solely on chat messages that were slow, inefficient and often ambiguous, resulting in more delays and confusion. Taken together, the platform, its interface and customer communication fell far short of my expectations and I would honestly prefer taking the GRE at an in-person testing center than deal with these avoidable complications again. I'm urging ETS and the GRE program to partner with a more reliable, professional proctoring provider because this experience felt poorly planned and inadequately supported. These operational oversights and the lack of transparency around what would be required of me not only wasted my time on test day but have also left me dealing with technical cleanup after the fact which I find unacceptable for a service being entrusted with high-stakes exams.

Honestly, I feel like this awful, bot-driven setup only increases my stress during online exams.

I'm alarmed because the service is practically non-existent, relying on dumb, bot-based interactions and if this is the direction we're headed I really worry about the future.

To be frank, I find no upsides, nearly every time I use it, some problem crops up, so it's almost always a hassle.

For the last three hours I've been trying to load my exam and despite repeatedly contacting support, none of the technicians could resolve the issue, so I still haven't been able to take the test and I believe universities shouldn't outsource assessments to this service.

“Suspicious privacy practices

I have nothing to say, overall very poor program.

I found it to be a poorly managed operation. Their privacy practices are highly suspicious and there are no clear privacy disclosures anywhere. I took an exam using this app thinking it would behave like Respondus LockDown but instead this tool obtained deep access and altered system-level settings without my consent and without any way for me to inspect those changes. If you're a PROFESSOR, TEACHER, or ADMIN considering running exams through it, I warn you to avoid it at all costs. The security risks are significantly greater than with other solutions because the software operates at a very deep level and can reach virtually every system setting without the user being aware. So far the damage has mostly been minor, like disabling features or, in some cases, bricking machines but remember that if something serious happens the responsibility falls entirely on you. On top of that, using this tool will not actually stop cheating, determined students will find ways and there are far better methods to prevent dishonesty than compromising someone's security. They could access accounts, photos, messages, avoid it.

“Excessive permissions concern

Both proctors were friendly and I started with one proctor before being automatically switched to another.

This software makes me extremely uneasy on my computer because it asks for practically every accessibility permission possible and while I was setting it up they even turned off my screen for several minutes, which, to my mind, is a common trick scammers use to hide questionable activity. I recognize that there needs to be a great solution in this space and that this service accomplished its task by implementing thorough anti-cheat measures, yet I wish someone would design an approach that protects exam integrity without handing who-knows-who effectively the keys to my machine or creating that invasive, trust-breaking experience.
