“Ability to share materials”
Pros
One thing I really appreciate is being able to share materials with the entire course. I also like getting email notifications for discussion topics.
Cons
The iOS app really needs a visual interface overhaul to feel more modern and user-friendly.

“Appreciate the collaborative tools”
Pros
I really value Moodle's collaborative tools. It provides forums, wikis, chat rooms and other features that make it simple for learners and instructors to interact. I find those tools help foster a genuine sense of community among students and make exchanging ideas and knowledge much easier. I also appreciate how accessibility is prioritized. I can adjust font sizes, tweak color contrast and rely on screen-reader compatibility so users with disabilities can participate more fully. On top of that, I like it's flexibility. I've used it for face-to-face classes, fully online courses and blended learning and it adapts well to different teaching styles and a wide range of learning objectives.
Cons
I've noticed a significant drawback. Moodle's mobile support feels limited compared with other learning platforms. While some mobile functionality exists, I often find it less capable and less polished which can make it tougher for learners to access materials or join activities when they aren't at a desktop computer.

“Makes it easy to evaluate students' learning progress”
Pros
As an educator, I find it incredibly flexible. It brings together everything I need to run remote classes. I can upload readings, videos, build lessons and set up graded activities which makes it simple for me to monitor and evaluate students' learning progress effectively.
Cons
Importing and exporting course materials especially when trying to clone assignments across different courses still needs substantial improvements to be reliable and convenient.

“Saves time”
Pros
What I appreciate most is that it's user-friendly and quick. As a student, I find this app genuinely makes managing online learning much simpler and less time-consuming.
Cons
One drawback I've noticed is the lack of any chat functionality. There also isn't an online meeting feature to facilitate real-time interaction between students or between students and teachers which is something I really miss.

“Offers a wide selection of plugins”
Pros
It's really simple to use and to set up on different platforms. Right now we've installed Moodle 3.10 on an Ubuntu system but I've also found it very simple to deploy and install on other Linux distributions. What I particularly like is the large, active forum where lots of people pitch ideas and help one another when issues pop up. Another plus for me is the wide selection of plugins available on the Moodle platform which makes it easy to add extra features and customize the environment.
Cons
Theres an issue with the platform's internal database logging. By default, log rotation isn't enabled and after a while (depending on how much storage you have) those logs can grow and cause trouble. We ended up needing to rotate the logs periodically or else enable automated rotation from the admin page to prevent storage bloat and related problems.

“Excellent for learning”
Pros
I'm finding it great for learning and for broadening my skills across different domains and I don't hesitate to ask questions.
Cons
For me the biggest issue is that there aren't any tests or exams like on other platforms so I can't properly assess my knowledge.

“Has everything I need”
Pros
As a student, I've used it for several of my courses and I keep coming away impressed by how simple it is and how many useful features it packs in. For me one of the best parts is having everything I need for a class organized in one place so I don't have to dig through emails or multiple websites to find readings, assignments or announcements. It also makes staying in touch with instructors and classmates simple thanks to the built-in messaging tools and discussion forums where questions and conversations can happen easily. I also appreciate being able to submit assignments online and see my grades and feedback in real time which helps me stay organized and on track. On top of that, the variety of assessment options like quizzes and surveys gives instructors flexible ways to check how well students are understanding material and staying engaged and I find those tools useful both for learning and for staying aware of my own progress.
Cons
I've noticed a few drawbacks that are worth mentioning. For instructors, setting up and maintaining a course can take quite a bit of time because there are so many settings and configuration choices to work through and that becomes especially tough for teachers who are new to the platform or who are juggling multiple courses at once. I also find that Moodle isn't always the most visually polished or immediately user-friendly platform compared with some newer LMS options which can make it harder for students who aren't already familiar with the layout to find what they need. Another practical issue is that it can be resource-hungry. On older or slower laptops and devices the site can feel sluggish to load or respond which is frustrating when you're trying to submit work or review materials quickly. Overall these feel like manageable downsides but they're important to think about when deciding if Moodle is the best fit for a particular class or program.

Pros
I appreciated how simple it was to handle. I found the platform really user-friendly and easy to work with.
Cons
I did find the initial training a bit long and it took some effort to get comfortable with the system but once I completed it, using Moodle should be fine going forward.

“Anyone can use it”
Pros
I can point out several benefits of Moodle from my experience. One thing I like is that it is highly customizable so it can be adjusted to fit the specific needs of different institutions and departments. I find this valuable when I want to design a unique, personalized learning environment for students. It supports a broad range of learning activities, from traditional coursework and online quizzes to collaborative projects and self-paced modules. That versatility makes it useful in a variety of teaching contexts. The platform comes with built-in collaboration and communication tools like forums and wikis which I use for group assessments and teamwork so students can work together on projects or presentations. It offers features for monitoring progress, including grades and completion status. Those tools help me stay motivated and track my own learning and they also let instructors keep an eye on student progress and spot areas needing extra support. I appreciate that Moodle has a big, active community, it's a helpful resource for educators and admins looking for advice or troubleshooting tips. Finally, it being open-source means it's freely available for anyone to download and use which I see as a major plus.
Cons
From my perspective there are a few drawbacks to Moodle. I sometimes find it overwhelming because it offers so many features and settings which can be confusing especially if you're new to learning management systems or prefer something simpler. Customization requires technical expertise, while I value the customizability, it's also a downside when we lack the technical skills or resources to fully tailor the platform. Customizing often needs programming knowledge or third-party plugins and that can be time-consuming and require ongoing maintenance. In my experience it doesn't always integrate as smoothly with other platforms and tools as some alternative LMSs which can limit what I'm able to do within the system. I've also noticed it isn't always as mobile-friendly as other systems which can be frustrating for students and instructors who rely on phones or tablets for learning and teaching.

“Accessible courses”
Pros
One of the main things I appreciate about it is how simple it makes accessing all of my course materials from a single spot. Nearly everything I need is just a couple of clicks away at any point on the site which saves me time. I also really like the recent update that rearranged the dashboard and made it a lot more customizable to my preferences. All in all, I'm quite satisfied with it and feel it's been a dependable platform for me over the years I've used it.
Cons
I've noticed professors sometimes struggle to have it show grades correctly. There seems to be something tricky about setting up weighted percentages or classifying assignments so that the gradebook calculates accurately and that backend configuration can be confusing. I also wish each course could have internal subpages instead of one long page because having separate sections would make organizing and finding course information much easier and more balanced for students.

“Useful features”
Pros
Personally, I find the features the software provides to be very precise and the platform easy to use overall. It organizes course and assignment categories in a tidy way with quick access and I also appreciate that it respects privacy during login.
Cons
What bothers me most about the platform these days is the recent design update it received. I honestly preferred the older layout and user interface which felt much better and more user-friendly to me.
