Our experience with Litmos as our first LMS software was very positive. Its pretty easy to setup and usage surpassed earlier products like Cornerstone and SumTotal, and our users adapted quickly.

Cons

Since being acquired by SAP, Litmos has been problematic. Now it offers poor support and some content feeling unnecessary.

Litmos streamlines our staff training process with customizable training tracks and engaging videos. The dashboard provides a clear overview of completed and pending trainings and the library offers a wealth of pre-created content.

Some pre-made videos are very simple. They could be improved to better suit working adults.

There are several issues, such as UK-based training content not always aligning with US laws. Also we face difficulties with searching and updating content. Customer service is not satisfactory. They often blame everything on outdated browsers instead of focusing on resolving the problem.

At two organizations where I've worked, the main reason we chose this software was its price point. It is one of the most affordable options available.

Compared to similarly priced options, the features were lacking. After the initial 2 weeks, actual support was nonexistent, with response times on critical issues taking over 24 hours for a first (non-automated) response. Integrating with other systems felt clumsy, and there was minimal assistance for API. The admin side of the LMS wasn't very intuitive and felt cluttered. There were many interdependencies across features, leading to the need to pay for additional non-standard features despite them being presented as standard during demos.
