Do NOT waste your money or time with Abas
Pros

The selection process impressed me. The salespeople were informative and honest about the functionality.

Cons

The software's proprietary database is quite puzzling. All the field names are in German, and customization is nearly impossible without paying additional fees to Abas. Surprisingly, some of the Professional Services personnel lack adequate knowledge about their own product, particularly in the Finance and Sales areas, where some of our users were more well-versed in Abas than the consultants themselves.

A solid ERP solution for most
Pros

ABAS served as our first ERP system, playing a key role in our business growth. Customizing the system to fit our needs was vital. The teams we collaborated with over the years felt like family and worked as part of our team.

Cons

We used to be ABAS users. As our company grew, we required scheduling features for engineered-to-order and custom manufacturing, and ABAS excelled in scheduling for standard manufacturing. We attempted to customize it, and while we found success with other functions, it didn't work for scheduling. Consequently, we had to find an alternative solution to address this critical aspect. Nonetheless, ABAS remains a great overall solution.

ABAS ERP Review
Pros

I like the robust support system and the vendor's awareness. Deploying and extending its use is easy, and the integration is seamless.

Obtaining support from Germany for the upgrade process can be time-consuming due to the time zone differences.

Abas ERP for Spare Parts
Pros

What remarkable is the ease of use. Hovering over an icon provides helpful information about its function. Virtual transfers process is quite simple, and I particularly like the convenience of packing slips and invoicing, including the link to Outlook for sending invoices to customers.

Cons

There are a few too many lines in the Stock Journal, with two lines per transfer being excessive, unnecessary and straining on the eyes. Undoing "posted" mistakes could be made simpler, and it appears that the upcoming update will address this issue, which is a welcoming improvement.

All these positive reviews make me wonder if we are really using the same software ...
Pros

Perhaps it's just our local support that is lacking. Fortunately, we haven't experienced any major blackouts in the last ten years, which is undoubtedly positive. Colleagues who have used the software since its inception are well-versed in its functionality and have developed workarounds for most problems or have come to accept them. Having worked with the software for nearly twenty years, they consider it the state-of-the-art, as they haven't used any other software.

Cons

Where do I begin? As someone mentioned in another review, the colors used in the software can be quite harsh on the eyes. Although this is a minor issue that I can overlook, it's not the only problem. The user experience (UX) is a nightmare. There are endless lists, tabs and fields that are useless for 95% of users. When introducing a new colleague to the software, it becomes tricky and we often find ourselves saying, "Ignore this field" or "You don't need this tab." New colleagues frequently ask about the purpose of specific fields, and we have no idea most of the time. For the past ten years, none of our new colleagues have been able to fully learn how to use the software properly. It's not their fault, as it seems almost impossible unless you grew up using it. In fact, we've had new colleagues become so frustrated with constant complaints from the "old crew" that they ultimately couldn't integrate into the team and decided to quit their jobs. It truly diminishes their motivation. Over the years, we've tried to get some modifications done because we couldn't tolerate the time-consuming workarounds anymore. We've had several expensive in-person meetings with ABAS, during which they took extensive notes, but they have yet to provide any solutions to date.

Pros

I haven't come across any other app that works better than this one. It fulfills all your needs, making the others irrelevant.

Cons

The app's color scheme is bothersome and causes discomfort in my eyes. Whenever I use it on my iPad, it leads to eye strain and headaches.

This ERP is more for production and logistics
Pros

The software is easy to use and runs smoothly on Linux servers. The integration with other software is well-regulated. The production and logistics modules are well-designed and fulfill their function effectively. However, the financial area is quite basic. This application primarily enhances service internally, rather than for external clients.

Cons

It takes time to adapt to the navigation and tools of the system. While it is intuitive, it requires opening numerous windows (resulting in many clicks) to access information. Performance issues arise when dealing with large data volumes, and the documentation/help provided is not always clear. The graphical interface lacks sophistication and appears too simple.

abas ERP overview
Pros

ERP MARK 7 greatly assists with various management operations such as order processing, inventories, supplier details, finance commission, processing, manufacturing, payroll, loyalty programs, HR, RFP, employee performance, expenses and profits. It is easy to use and integrates well with other systems.

Cons

Implementing ERP Mark 7 was a wise investment for our company. It was quickly implemented with minimal training required. The support team was very helpful and readily available. The user-friendly layout of the Mark 7 dashboard made it easy to use right from the start.

Pros

The ability to create custom interfaces and assign specific groups of people to your company is truly impressive and highly valuable.

Abas made our business run better and enthusiastically gave me the tools to make abas even better for our unique business.
Pros

Abas offers a all in one solution that doesn't require picking and choosing from various modules during implementation. Unlike other programs cobbled together from different sources, Abas is a unified system. The technical support provided by Abas is excellent, and their user support and training through the "abas academy" in Virginia are top-notch. They offer frequent multi-day training courses that cover different aspects of the software. The technical training courses are especially valuable, as they teach higher-level users, like system admins, how to program customizations. I've been able to develop useful in-house processes myself. Abas constantly improves and keeps up with technological advancements. The program is impressively stable, running ideally on a Linux server with a cost-effective custom-designed database. In the four years we've been using it, our ERP system has only experienced downtime during power failures or when I made mistakes. In such cases, the support team promptly restored the system, often within an hour. Support tickets, in general, are handled with great efficiency, particularly urgent or critical ones. Additionally, there is a helpful LinkedIn group where users, including IT managers, can communicate and assist each other with Abas-related matters.

Cons

From a technical perspective, programming the proprietary database required a learning curve for those accustomed to working with SQL. The mobile applications are still being developed and not fully implemented. Adding the mobile app server was a significant investment. The system lacked a built-in capability to close idle sessions and free up licenses, so I had to come up with a workaround. There were a few instances where less experienced support technicians were assigned to tickets and couldn't provide much assistance.

Best flexibility available in ERP systems
Pros

The interface of Abas is highly customizable which allows for the addition of extra functionality and improves the user experience. The programming language is easy to learn, and the availability of modern web services makes it suitable for web-based applications. It offers the same level of functionality and flexibility as major ERP providers but without the high cost.

Cons

Tracking and updating customized solutions wasn't as seamless as desired. The small user base in the US made collaboration with other companies challenging, although this is gradually improving.

For what it offers, abas' ERP pros outweight any cons
Pros

Being able to manipulate data and create customized reports is highly valuable to me. As a manufacturing company, having all the information stored in one ERP system saves time for every department and provides quick access to any needed information.

Cons

Compared to standard, more conventional software options, the learning curve for this system is longer and requires users to have more advanced skills.

ABAS is an ERP system made complete by its functioning software and knowledgeable personnel.
Pros

ABAS allows complete customization which help you to get exactly what you put into it. The implementation process, though never easy, is well-managed by ABAS. Since going live in January 2016, we have been extremely satisfied. The support team has been excellent, and it's exciting to partner with a company that is always improving and moving forward.

Cons

I find the support system on the portal to be confusing. Personally, I prefer picking up the phone and having a conversation with someone, so that's what I often resort to.

Pros

The ease of use, along with the ability to customize and improve functionality, makes it stand out. It seamlessly integrates with other software packages and runs smoothly on a Linux server.

Cons

Very userfriendly software and easy to navigate
Pros

Unlike larger ERP companies where you speak to a different person each time you need assistance, Abas assigns a dedicated group of people to your company. Building relationships with them has been priceless. They become familiar with our company and its workings, which proves beneficial when we want to make changes within the system as they are already knowledgeable about our business.

Cons

It have a mixed feeling. The system has a wide range of features, which is fantastic! However, initially it can be overwhelming. When you see demos of features you like and want to have right away, you realize the importance of taking a step back and focusing on getting the basics up and running first.
