One of the best designing software

Pros

Creo is quite easy to use as with a little practice, anyone can work on it. It offers features like drafting, modeling, sheet metal design, assembly and much more.

Cons

I believe Creo would greatly benefit from improved accuracy and the addition of more automation.

Professional tool with intuitive interface

Pros

The interface is highly intuitive, and it doesn't take long to familiarize oneself with the navigation and start developing parts and assemblies.

Cons

Importing files from other software into Creo can sometimes be hard, although this may not affect the majority of users. If you exclusively work within Creo, you won't encounter any issues.

Okay Program, Better Options out there

Pros

Creo is definitely a viable option for 3D modeling programs. However, in my opinion, there are better alternatives available. The look and features of Creo appear to be a few years behind other programs.

Cons

One thing that bothers me the most is how drawings and models appear on the computer and when exported to PDF. They have a cartoonish look and lack realism.

When you just need to get the job done, use Creo

Pros

Creo is an extremely robust CAD tool with outstanding features for large assemblies and analysis. When you're focused on getting the job done without struggling with an underpowered CAD tool, Creo is the way to go. It's also ideal for maintaining company standards in design and documentation.

Cons

With great power comes complexity. Setting up Creo for a new company can be quite challenging. It also has a steeper learning curve compared to mid-range packages like Solidworks or Inventor, although it's still easier than Catia or NX.

Product design

Pros

The modeling tool is invaluable for engineering complex products, particularly for automotive companies dealing with complex parts like powertrains and engines. It offers advanced features for real-time design feedback and enhances efficiency through topology optimization. The Sketcher is also helpful for creating 2D and industrial drawings, capturing concept-level models and converting them into engineering drawings within the same software. PTC, the company behind Creo, also provides digital twin capabilities that integrate models for repurposing in digital twins and augmented reality. The simulation tools available in Creo are instrumental in validating 3D models, trends, and product features during the design stage.

Cons

Creo is more expensive compared to Solidworks or Solid Edge. Its complex features make it less user-friendly. For example, managing layers can be a hassle, and learning how to use the system files is necessary. Automation has limitations, as it involves less programming/API integrations.

Great Software for 3D and Engineering Design

Pros

Creo offers a wide range of tools and packages for anyone looking to create 3D models from scratch.

Cons

For someone using Creo for the first time, it can feel a bit overwhelming. Customization options can improve the experience, but there is a learning angle involved.

Daily CAD-software, if you are able to configure it

Pros

I rely on this software daily for my job. Through training, I've discovered the incredible functions this software offers. Moreover, if you're familiar with all the configuration options and mapkeys, you can work quickly and comfortably.

Cons

The price of Creo is not very affordable, but it's acceptable for a company. However the configuration process is not easy, but once it's done, you can have a lot of fun using it.

Great professional tool, harder for beginners or students

Pros

What I like about Creo is the high quality and professional nature of this software, along with its wide range of tools for creating 3D prototypes. It's widely used in the CAD industry, providing great exposure for our students. We had excellent results when using it with our 3D printers, producing high-quality prototypes. Our students thoroughly enjoyed working with it.

Cons

One issue I found is that Creo is not compatible with MAC computers you have to have a PC. Unlike TinkerCAD, which is free and accessible online without any downloads, Creo needs to be downloaded and requires purchased licenses. Additionally, if you want younger students or beginners to use Creo, you'll have to make a lot of accommodations and simplifications. We spent a considerable amount of time customizing the toolbar to make it more accessible and kid-friendly. We also had to provide more instruction to help students succeed. Unlike TinkerCAD, Creo lacks built-in student-friendly trainings or tutorials.

CAD Tool with a better interface!

Pros

Creo is undeniably a powerful CAD tool! I must admit that it's noticeably faster than its competitors and the tools are easier to use. The interface is attractively designed for a CAD software.

Cons

I would prefer it more if the 2D creation for manufacturing in Creo was as productive as other design tools. The tree structure in Creo is slightly less useful compared to other design tools.

Creo 3d CAD software

Pros

Throughout my 42-year design career, I've used Solidworks, AutoCad, SDRC IDEAS, PTC Wildfire and Creo, and I can confidently say that Creo is the best tool I've ever used.

Cons

Sometimes, Creo handles very complex designs without any issues, but occasionally, it unexpectedly crashes even on simple tasks. However, from what I've observed, this seems to be a common occurrence across different software.

PTC Creo

Pros

The software's parametric nature and design intent are superb, especially when it comes to solid modeling, drafting, part modeling, assembly modules, detailing and sheet metal.

Cons

The frequent yearly updates for Creo can be inconvenient as it requires updating the license each year, which can be costly for individual users.

Not as powerful as NX, but not as easily usable as Solidworks

Pros

There's a built-in version control feature called Windchill. While there are some online resources available, they aren't easily searchable. However, with time and practice, you can become familiar with them. Additionally, you can perform GD&T directly in the model itself, and it carries over into the drawings.

Cons

I found the Windchill software in Creo to be awkward and difficult to use. The online resources are not easily searchable, making it harder to learn. Personally, I preferred NX over Creo.

Designing means CREO

Pros

At my university project, I rely on CREO for designing parts. The features available in CREO are impressive and easy to use. Defining coordinates along respective axes is quite easy in CREO. When working on 3D models from 2D plans, the extrude command takes the lead. While some features in CREO resemble those in other design software, what sets Creo apart is its file-saving capabilities and wide range of available formats. With numerous formats supported, Creo files can be easily opened in various software, such as simulation tools like Ansys and Simulink, or other design software like SolidWorks and AutoCAD. Naming and boundary orientation are classic features of CREO that I find particularly useful.

Cons

In comparison to other design software I've used, I have noticed a few drawbacks with Creo. One area where it falls short is the lack of functionality, particularly in simulation and animation features when compared to its competitors. I believe the addition of a meshing view would greatly enhance the software in newer versions.

Creo by PTC

Pros

What stands out in this 3D modeling software, compared to others, is the amazing drawing options and interface. However, it could be more user-friendly, and Creo should work on making the commands easier to use, requiring less expertise.

Cons

Overall, I am happy and I must say that this software truly amazing.
