The concept of Fishbowl was highly appealing, with its well-featured system, smaller development team, and integration with QuickBooks. However, changes after the sale to Private Equity impacted our integration success.

Cons

The company was uncooperative in making necessary developments for our integration, and they delayed informing us about this. Additionally, they spent our funds on third-party services.

Pros

Fishbowl offers all the necessary features for stock control, comprehensive reporting, customizable dashboard, and streamlined purchasing and sales processes. It is user-friendly for both management and end-users.

Cons

During stock takes, it would be beneficial to have features that support and simplify the process. Currently, the only option is to export and import cycle count files.

Fishbowl excels in inventory management, complementing QuickBooks accounting software and adding significant value through their seamless integration.

To use the software solely as an inventory system, we need to implement certain workarounds that wouldn't be necessary if we used it for other purposes. While the flexibility is a positive aspect, these minor hacks are the least desirable aspect of the program.

It would be more convenient if Fishbowl automatically ensured compatibility of custom reports with updated software, instead of having to contact support for updates. Additionally, the limited support hours and different time zone can be inconvenient if their server experiences downtime (we host on FB server).

The ease of use, friendly environment, excellent customer support, and comprehensive inventory management tools make Fishbowl a preferred choice. It allows for efficient tracking of each item.

Occasionally, errors occur and items get stuck in a "Committed" status, but this is not a major issue as customer support is always available to assist in resolving any inconveniences. It would be helpful to have the ability to void transactions at any level, even after they have been posted and require revision, using the admin user password.

Onboarding new team members involves a steep learning curve. A comprehensive user experience review and redesign would greatly benefit the software.

It would be beneficial to improve the search functionality for part numbers. Currently, if searching for a vendor number, it must be looked up under the supplier # column where it was entered. Having a search bar that scans the entire database and retrieves relevant information based on the search would be advantageous.

It is not possible to access the forecast feature from the cloud.

Integration with accounting software, document storage capabilities, multi-user functionality without slowdowns, and obtaining shipping quotes within sales orders are just a few of the impressive features that Fishbowl offers. Additionally, emailing customer estimates directly from sales orders is a convenient feature.

Cons

Software updates occasionally cause issues that need to be addressed by customer service. However, customer service is only available from 8-6 Mountain Time. Our third-party forms easily break when major updates are required, resulting in slower processes.
