Global Shop - The never ending nightmare

Pros

The software effectively manages inventory.

Cons

The system has numerous internal issues, with many elements failing to connect and behind the scenes processes not linking properly. Technical support either temporarily resolves the problems through backdoor fixes or attributes them to "bugs." It often feels like these issues are unique to our experience.

Already searching for something new

Pros

After two years of using the software we have decided to move on.

Cons

I've been using GSS for over two years. It's a Tier III ERP software, so expectations for integrated functionality should be moderate. Unfortunately, the system is quite buggy, and the accuracy of the data is questionable. Our company has found the support to be lacking. It appears that GSS prioritizes acquiring new customers over providing adequate support to existing ones. As a result, customers like me are left dissatisfied. We are currently in the process of transitioning to another ERP provider.

Needs a lot of work

Pros

This program has the potential to be fantastic if they paid attention to detail and how users interact with it.

Cons

Global shop Review

Pros

My experience with Global Shop has been satisfactory. Some aspects are easy to use while others took time for me to fully understand why they function in a certain way.

Cons

One recurring issue I have faced with Global Shop is that when something doesn't post correctly, the explanation provided is often insufficient. When I seek assistance, they take control of my computer and perform multiple actions that I struggle to follow, making it challenging to understand how they resolve the issue.

A disappointment

Pros

The only advantage I have noticed is the capability to export specific data to Excel.

Cons

Most aspects of the program can be problematic. An issue in one module can negatively impact all the others, causing significant frustration. The online help resources are quite limited. Report names are updated, but the corresponding Help documentation is not.

IT HAS HELPED ME WITH PURCHASING AND ASSIGNING COST

Pros

I can effectively manage all aspects of the business, including purchasing and assigning costs to jobs and tooling for specific projects.

Cons

There are times when the system becomes frustratingly slow, especially when creating purchase orders and initializing startup processes.

Global Shop Solutions Review

Pros

This product is highly intuitive and robust. The APS feature is an excellent tool for scheduling. I can quickly address customer inquiries about the status and completion time of their products. We rely on Global Shop for everything from quoting to invoicing. The support team is exceptional, and I highly recommend this product.

Cons

Personally I don't have any dislikes. If anything,they could enhance the quality module, although it currently functions adequately.

A Buyer's Review

Pros

As a purchasing manager, I spend most of my day working with the purchasing and inventory side. They are user-friendly, and I can have both modules open simultaneously, which simplifies my job. The vendor is excellent and very responsive.

Cons

The most annoying aspect is the limited character count when creating new item numbers in inventory. Some of our numbers are lengthy, and we're occasionally forced to abbreviate them to fit.

Highly customizable but does take time to figure out optimal use

Pros

They actively seek feedback and follow up on questions and requests. We often pioneer new implementations, presenting challenges that require thorough research.

Cons

Being a few updates behind to ensure system reliability is necessary, although the maintenance module is not the best. We were informed about this beforehand, and we appreciate the transparency.

Pretty usefull tool when applied correctly

We have used Global Shop for almost 18 years now

Pros

I appreciate the integration of this software. It seamlessly combines all departments into one software package and enables traceability throughout the entire product realization process. I'm impressed by the vendor's responsiveness in providing technical support.

Cons

The initial learning curve to navigate through this ERP package is what I find challenging.

This is a great product!

Pros

The best aspect of this product is its all-inclusive nature, encompassing payroll and accounting functions.

Cons

The CRM included in the Global Shop Solutions platform doesn't match the standards set by Salesforce.com or Microsoft Dynamics CRM. However, it does provide some assistance in certain areas when utilized.

Support Team is so helpful

Pros

Whenever assistance is needed, they are always available to provide support in any way they can.

Cons

The software has an extensive range of capabilities, but it can be difficult to learn. Additionally, making changes in one area that affect others can be challenging to grasp. It's not very intuitive, but I believe I'll get the hang of it.

We have been a loyal Gloabl Shop user since 2003.

Pros

The customer service and technical support provided are excellent. One of our managers recently sent the following comment to the President of GSS: "This morning at 6:00 AM I received a call from our production control person that no one could log into Global Shop. I called your 800 number expecting to reach a recording, but to my surprise a very polite lady answered on the first or second ring. She took my contact information and the basic details of our issue, assuring me that a service tech would call. I wondered, 'Okay, but when?' Within a few minutes, your service tech called me back. By that time, I had my laptop up and running with a remote session to my office open. He initiated a Fast Support session, logged onto our server, and resolved the problem within minutes, getting us back in business. It was a great experience from start to finish! Please convey my appreciation to your overnight call service for a job well done. And thank you to you and the entire GSS team. This is one of the many reasons why I choose to do business with Global Shop Solutions"

Pros

The software is flexible and continuously updated and the employees are responsive. It's a solid company with strong values.
