New Sage 100cloud software is great

Pros

My search for a new cloud based solution to manage accounting and finances led me to Sage 100cloud. I needed a program that could handle my businesss complicated processes since my previous software could not. With Sage 100cloud I can simplify my finances by having a single source of data for cash management, financial procedures and supply chain management. The ability to manage my entire business from anywhere, on any device is a game-changer.

Cons

So far I haven't encountered any problems with this product.

Pros

The audit trail provided by Sage 100 is exceptional covering all aspects of the accounting cycle and entry tracking.

Cons

Reversing entries can be challenging, but without that, the audit trail (which I appreciate) would be compromised.

Pros

This product functions well and requires only basic user training. It's a great ERP solution considering the price.

Cons

The cost includes only 5 support tickets, and advanced setup and reports are nearly impossible without a consultant. The software must be purchased through a reseller.

Sage 100 Cloud

Pros

The accounting functionality of this software is incredibly user friendly. The modern screens are easy to read and the reporting features are fantastic. With more employees working from home, having the software on the cloud has been immensely beneficial.

Cons

I wish it had more manufacturing-related transaction capabilities for work orders.

Over complicated and expensive for freelancers / sole proprietors

Pros

If you are in need of a robust payroll/accounting software. this software offers a wide range of features that might be exactly what you're looking for.

Cons

For someone who doesn't use payroll and doesn't require extensive features/functions, it's overly complicated and expensive. There are more user friendly programs available that are cheaper or even free.

Pros

I was really impressed by the way Sage organizes their segments with icons, making it easy to identify the functions I'm looking for. The layout has been carefully designed to be both simple and highly professional.

Cons

As a start up company, the software can become costly since many features are only available as add-ons, increasing the operating software expenses.

SAGE 100 is a Winner

Pros

This package of modules is incredibly robust - each module is dedicated to a specific task, such as general ledger, AP, AR, inventory and more. Once I set up my company, I assign my staff to be responsible for a specific module and they become experts in their respective areas. All the modules are seamlessly integrated, eliminating the need for manual syncing programs.

Cons

Occasionally certain modules are not as intuitive as others. It seems like different software designers developed each module, resulting in variations in writing logical code. This leads to some discontinuity across the modules. Sometimes a module crashes due to a specific number or letter missing in the database (not sure how that happens!). Unfortunately, diagnosing such issues requires contacting customer service, which can cost you money if you don't have a support plan and consume at least an hour of your time. However, to be fair, this doesn't happen frequently.

Works OK if you are a qualified accountant!!

Pros

While it takes a little time to find all the features I need Sage has almost all the necessary functionalities. It gets the job done.

Cons

The software is quite expensive, and the customer support is lacking (if you can even reach someone). It's also challenging to use if you don't have an accounting background.

Pros

The portability feature of Sage is excellent. Even when I am on vacation in the south I can still access my files if needed.

Cons

There is not a single function that I dislike.

Sage - Tacking your Companies costs

Pros

Sage is straightforward to set up. The ability to personalize invoices by adding logos and required information is essential. I can also customize fonts and the appearance of my reports, making it very personalized.

Cons

I would appreciate the option to copy a journal entry for reuse instead of saving it as a stored entry. Copying entries on the go is much quicker. Additionally, when a credit appears, there's no way to back out of it (no option to exit), which can create confusion in the general ledger.

Sage is awesome

Pros

Having used Mas90 for 18 years, Sage 100 offers a lot more functionality. It took some time to get used to, but I am still learning about the intricacies of the product. So far I am enjoying using it.

Cons

It would be beneficial to have the ability to input longer descriptions.

10+ Years of Sage in a mid-size manufacturing / distro environment

Pros

Sage may be an older software, but its core functionality is solid. It simply works well for most smaller companies.

Cons

Sage isn't really designed for large or complex environments. Once you exceed 50 simultaneous users and integrate third-party systems for taxation, credit cards, warehouse management, etc, you will notice system lag regardless of the hardware resources allocated to it.

Many features, Poor execution

Pros

The production management module in Sage helps us keep track of our inventory and built products. It can be very simple to use if you know what you are doing. The ability to use different dates per module is useful when properly utilized.

Cons

There are many background processes happening without your knowledge. Additionally, unless you notice a discrepancy, the software won't alert you. We've had to rebuild sort files to ensure accurate inventory representation. The software also frequently generates errors, forcing you to redo completed work.

Pros

I find it valuable to be able to lock data within a specific time frame, especially when it comes to bank reconciliation.

Cons

It may be slightly more expensive compared to other products, but considering its specific features tailored to the accounting profession, its acceptable.

All the modules are conveniently located on the left side of the home screen. This may not seem like a significant component, but its a game changer when you need to navigate between different tasks. I can easily reconcile while simultaneously viewing my AR and AP. Making entries and printing checks is effortless. The steps are easy to follow and the tutorials are straightforward.

Cons

When updating the software, it's crucial to double check all modules. We updated and quickly realized that some modules hadn't transferred correctly. The issue was resolved promptly, but it could have caused problems in the future. It would be helpful to have a checklist to track which changes did or didn't occur during updates.

Over the years, Sage 100 Cloud has evolved from simply accounting software. The new user interface is extremely user-friendly, making it easy to navigate both on the desktop and online.

Cons
