Huge improvements over earlier Sage products

Pros

Our organization transitioned from Sage 50 to Sage 100 and the difference is remarkable! We initially thought Sage was the problem but it turned out that our business had outgrown the more basic version of the software. Sage 100 can handle complex costing and processes required in a modern manufacturing business. It allows us to collect data at various stages in the process and consolidate them for budgeting and forecasting purposes.

Cons

We extensively use agile software platforms for sales and e-commerce, and Sage 100s API catalog doesn't keep up with the requirements necessary for fast paced operations in 2020.

The Toyota Corolla. Not fancy, but efficient and reliable.

Pros

Sage is reliable and provides an excellent way to organize data. I appreciate the ability to pull data into Excel using Microsoft Query and access multiple tables such as invoice history, purchase orders, sales orders and item information.

Cons

The software has an antiquated appearance, especially in Classic View, lacking a modern aesthetic. Nevertheless it efficiently gets the job done.

Bill of Materials with ERP

Pros

When we started our business 20 years ago, we needed a reliable Bill of Materials integration with an ERP system and this software provided exactly that. The company has grown alongside the software and it seamlessly integrates with Microsoft Office tools.

Cons

There are numerous features designed for larger companies that we don't utilize. Integrating the CRM feature isn't straightforward; it requires a separate installation.

To many steps to do simple daily process

Pros

The accounting functionality of Sage 100 is probably the most comprehensive.

Cons

In my opinion, there are several cons we discovered after purchasing the software. My main complaint is the amount of time it takes to complete simple processes. For instance, when making price changes and adjustments, we can't do it from a central location. As a retail and wholesale dealer with 30,000 items we have to change retail prices on one screen, wholesale prices on another, and costs in a completely different location. This process takes four times longer compared to other systems. Another major issue is dealing with multiple companies to obtain the necessary support for daily operations. We have experienced finger-pointing between support companies, and issues often remain unresolved for months. It has been over two years since we signed up and we're still facing a multitude of problems without a resolution. Delays in large orders in the Fusion portion are incredibly time-consuming.

Pros

Overall, the software is easy to use across all areas. The fact that it is cloud based and that our partner provides excellent support adds to its appeal.

Cons

Initially there were some challenges with system integration and reporting when Sage transitioned to the cloud.

Sage 100 Review

Pros

Sage 100 provides all the features our small business needs. We require efficient inventory management with bills of materials and work orders, and Sage handles this exceptionally well.

Cons

As a user I don't necessarily dislike it, but I find that the general ledger system lacks optimization for drill-down capabilities. Accessing specific information can be more cumbersome than necessary, even though all the data is in a relational database. To overcome this, we have developed Crystal reports to fulfill our inquiry needs.

Sage 100 cloud, a very well supported piece of software

Pros

The tech support for Sage is outstanding. As the admin for database products that start with an O, I can confidently say that Sage's tech support is far superior.

Cons

Perhaps the non SQL backend which I know can be updated but I question why it's even an option in the first place?

Great software not always user freindly

Pros

The product's ease of use is excellent. It offers a wide range of reports, and the information it retains is incredibly useful.

Cons

Once you post something, correcting errors is not straightforward. The reverse method it offers often ends up creating more confusion than resolving the issue, resulting in messy accounts.

Pros

What stands out to me about this software is that it's not the worst. I've experienced worse options, but I have definitely come across better ones as well.

Cons

This software lacks easy customization. Simple improvements can be quite frustrating. For example when posting entries, going through multiple steps each time is unnecessary. I have used other software where you can configure the level of required steps. It should be possible to print and post in a single step if desired.

2020 Review of Sage 100 Cloud

Pros

The product is intuitive and the dropdown menus are highly beneficial for new employees. We were able to train new hires to use the product easily.

Cons

It would be a significant improvement if reports didn't close automatically after printing or print preview. Setting up printing correctly, especially for non-standard checks, proved challenging. Smart printers did not allow the necessary adjustments. In the end, we had to purchase an inexpensive printer as a final solution.

Pros

It is highly userfriendly, and the layout is clean and easy to navigate. I enjoy working with queries that are linked to Sage, as it provides endless options for retrieving necessary information.

Pros

The software is straightforward and easy to understand. I have been able to coach new users and perform annual software upgrades myself over the past 8 years. This indicates that system upgrades, data migration, and conversion are quite simple.

Cons

There have been instances of data disappearing and discrepancies between account details and history. We've encountered error messages related to posting, even when all applications are closed. Strange issues like the inability to conduct an account balance recalculation have also arisen.
