“Nearly as expensive as it is poorly built
Pros
It has a robust set of features but many of them don't work as expected. Autopilot is an excellent idea but it's full of bugs that make it difficult to use. Tools like Data Cube, site auditing and content marketing are decent but don't outperform other platforms like SEMrush, Ahrefs or Moz, which provide similar functionality at a much lower cost.
Cons
At a cost of over $55000 per year, the supposed advantages over SEMRush, Moz and Ahrefs didn't work as expected. We were locked into a full year contract and still ended up using SEMRush and Ahrefs. It turned out to be a waste of money. The UI is clunky and slow and power users really dislike it. Core features take twice as long to use and the keyword research tools are buggy and inaccurate. The Autopilot integration was poor, breaking our build and the support team had no idea how to fix it.

“Some great features but hard to make full use of
Pros
Some great ideas and features but the execution could definitely use more refinement to make it more reliable and user friendly.
Cons
The keyword tracking features were limited and the share of voice (SOV) and competitor metrics were not very useful from a comparative standpoint.

“Excellent reporting for keywords
Pros
The ability to track keywords and monitor their performance over time is one of Bright edge's strengths. It also offers great insights into trending keyword ideas, which helps in shaping future strategies.
Cons
Dashboards get cluttered and the data reported in the Data Cube often doesn't match the keyword reporting tool, which can be confusing.

“Great but hard to navigate
Pros
I mainly use it for a client and while it is useful for keyword reporting and tracking, I prefer SEMrush for daily research. However I do appreciate Bright Edge's support. Its trending tool is better than Google Trends for viewing month over month changes.
Cons
BrightEdge's keyword research functionality is pretty complicated. Once you get the hang of it it is powerful but compared to tools like SEMrush, it's not pretty much intuitive. It feels like it takes extra steps to accomplish simple tasks, whereas SEMrush, Moz and Ahrefs are more simple. It offers deep insights but this depth is unnecessary for many users.

“The complete SEO tool from BrightEdge
Pros
I have used BrightEdge for years to drive my SEO strategy and monitor my performance metrics. It offers social media signals and deep marketing analysis, helping define and track KPIs. The keyword tracking feature is valuable for understanding how well SEO efforts are performing.
Cons
It offers an excellent dashboard for monitoring your performance metrics. However adding more pre configured dashboards could make it even more useful, specially for reporting to clients.

“This tool is a game changer for my clients
Pros
The quality of the software is superb. The data visualization capabilities stand out, making it easy to present and interpret data in a meaningful way.
Cons
There have been data outages, particularly with previous month's ranking data not being available until later in the month. Load times for some datasets can also be slow or delayed.

“Simplified SEO management
Pros
It lets us take control of our SEO efforts, providing the ability to measure SEO performance accurately. It also allows us to track not only our keywords but also those of our competitors.
Cons
With so many menu options and features, it is easy to get lost and end up spending more time navigating the software than actually using it.

“Definitely recommend for keyword research and tracking
Pros
The customer support team has been incredibly helpful in educating our SEO team and producing useful reports. We have been using BrightEdge for multiple clients and the platform's customization options make it adaptable to each client s business goals. Dashboards, keyword groups and page groups make it easy to track performance without overwhelming clients with too much detail.
Cons
Backlink analysis tool could be improved to better track new backlinks. As it stands, you have to request support to trigger a backfill.

“Excellent software but priced high
Pros
The software is excellent but the pricing is on the higher side. While the features are top notch, it would be more accessible if it were priced more competitively compared to other platforms offering similar functionalities at a lower cost.
Cons
For our industry there was a lack of competitive research, keyword suggestions and similar features.

“Every enterprise SEO should use BrightEdge
Pros
It is an exceptional enterprise solution with great customer support. Initially I started using it as a rank tracker but it offers so much more. The continuous feature improvements keep me working on meaningful SEO tasks.
Cons
Some of the data could be better organized to make it easier to find. The learning curve is steep for some of the tools but once you figure them out, they become incredibly powerful.

“A bit too expensive compared to its competition
Pros
One of the best features of BrightEdge is the ability to assign keywords to specific landing pages and track the ranking of those pages. They also assign a "success manager" to help you maximize the tool's potential and ours was fantastic.
Cons
The cost is too high!!!! Its about three times what we are paying for an alternative solution that we like better. The account managers don't respect your decision if you want to cancel and will go over your head even sending emails to your higher ups. The tool itself is overwhelming and requires too much effort to make the high price worth it. The fact that they assign you a success partner to make sure you're using it properly speaks volumes.

“Ideal for tracking SEO across multiple brands
Pros
I love how it allows me to create custom dashboards and export data to Excel or email. The platform also offers useful training and certification, which adds great value.
Cons
It was tricky to get the hang of at first due to the sheer number of options, dashboards, functions and features.

“Total rip-off, don't bother
Pros
Despite the high subscription costs, It didn't deliver what was promised. They tried to enforce auto renewals and didn't allow me to cancel easily. Their approach to customer service lacks transparency specially when compared to competitors like Ahrefs.
Cons
The platform didn't deliver what was promised, despite an enormous annual subscription fee specially when compared to competitors like Ahrefs. They tried to enforce auto renewal and hid behind their legal team, despite receiving a good faith notice. The company is actions are unethical.

“The most efficient SEO tool out there
Pros
BrightEdge is perfect for local SEO specially in real estate. It provides the ability to track keyword ranks for specific locations and gives recommendations tailored to different areas. This functionality is incredibly valuable for businesses like ours that focus on localized SEO.
Cons
There is very little to dislike about it but the cost is quite high. That said, the level of detail it captures makes the price seem more reasonable.
