“Very budget-friendly with strong reporting

Pros

We moved away from DonorPerfect and chose Little Green Light for our organization. In my experience it is very budget-friendly like roughly one third the price which makes it accessible even for the smallest nonprofits like ours. Also it is easy to use, offers strong reporting and provides a lot of customization. LGL also maintains a great knowledge base, runs live remote Q&A sessions and replies quickly to email support.

Cons

The interface is quite basic and lacking in visual cues, so it is sometimes hard to tell one screen apart from another. That said, it's a minor gripe and I am being picky.

“Most user friendly crm headache reliever

Pros

By far this is the most user friendly CRM I have worked with. It takes the headache out of organizing by keeping up with our donor records and makes maintenance incredibly simple. It also syncs seamlessly with QuickBooks which really streamlines entering gifts. Their customer support has been excellent too. Overall I feel it delivers strong value for the cost so yes it's absolutely worth every dollar we spent.

Cons

Honestly I cannot come up with a single thing I dislike about it. After using it for five years, I have never had a single bad experience.

It runs smoothly, is thoughtfully designed and addresses parts of donor management I did not even realize were a thing.

Cons

I do not think it lacks anything or needs fixing of any kind like the saying goes, it simply works.

The software is easy to use and works well for a smaller non-profit budget! Plus I really value the tutorials, videos and the Knowledge section.

Cons

Well I am still trying to figure out how to flag a spouse as deceased from a file without causing the entire record to show as deceased.

To be honest I have no complaints as it meets our nonprofits donor management needs perfectly and has been flawless for us.

Pros

Little Green Light is affordable and a good fit for an organization of our size. Plus I find it fairly flexible and user friendly and using third-party tools, I have been able to connect it easily to our other software.

Cons

I do notice a few limitations and when I cannot create integrations that function smoothly it makes entering gifts more difficult in our system.

“Powerful yet simple for nonprofits

Pros

Over the past ten-plus years I have relied on Little Green Light and have introduced this CRM to numerous nonprofits. The system feels powerful yet simple to use. Plus it offers excellent features and connects with other tools. And I am able to monitor donor relationships, pull giving reports, manage appeals and produce donor communications with consistent ease and precision.

Cons

While I do not have any major dislikes, I would like to see enhancements to the email capabilities. Right now I cannot set emails to go out at a precise time and it is tough to personalize messages with our branding and graphics which makes crafting visually polished emails more difficult than it should be.

It is an excellent donor and fundraising management tool essentially a CRM built specifically for fundraising.

using the interface took me a little while to get comfortable with.

“Incredibly flexible and configurable database

Pros

Managing and working with this database feels very user friendly. I have used other platforms before that seemed to demand almost a computer science degree just to get them to work. On the other hand LGL is incredibly flexible, highly configurable and I find their customer support to be the best in the business.

Cons

It is difficult to come up with things I dislike about it. Over time they keep rolling out improvements and somehow always seem to tackle whatever I currently wish for. I don't really know how they manage that but I am thrilled about it. If I could make one request, it would be to make the addressee and salutation fields a bit more powerful. Manually entering class years and in our situation, degrees increases the chance of mistakes. So I'd really like a customizable table that could be included in exports. Also having a way to enter gifts in batches aside from importing would transform the workflow for busier teams. When batches are coded it helps reduce inconsistencies in the data.

“Clean layout with great email tools

Pros

I really like the clean layout and its simple features. I also find the email and form tools great and I have experienced excellent customer support.

Cons

Honestly nothing really comes to mind as a downside and because it's web-based, I am not required to install anything on my computer.

“Great value with easy data import

Pros

Well I absolutely love the forms and integrations. Overall this donation platform gives you the most value for the money and truly feels like the best bang for your buck. Importing data is easy too and once the database is built, keeping track of donations becomes incredibly easy and manageable.

Cons

Learning this software is a real deep dive and the learning curve felt pretty steep when I was new to donor management. I still have not mastered all the ways this powerful tool can be used. Honestly I wish we'd had the option to sign up for a training seminar when we first started.

“Surprisingly deep capabilities for price

Pros

On the surface it seems like a simple database but I have found it has surprisingly deep capabilities. For the price it offers an enormous amount of functionality and every time I use it it genuinely makes my workflow easier. And I am a huge fan of the Flex Importer Undo feature!

Cons

One drawback is the limited control over how forms look as for now they feel pretty plain and basic. While the features work well, I'd love more options to tweak form layouts and appearance. It would also be great if the system could send automated emails to specific groups, like newly added constituents, without extra manual steps.

I find it really simple and fast to use. Also the interface is clean and lightweight and I like being able to access everything remotely.

Cons

For the dashboard, I wish it were simpler to customize date ranges and compare year over year metrics. It would also be great if I could create and share reports easily. Plus I am hoping the forms would feel a bit more user friendly when integrating with other tools.

“Pretty easy with great training resources

Pros

Little Green Light is pretty easy to use. There are a lot of training resources that really help me learn how to use it and the Help Team is very responsive and knowledgeable.

Cons

One major frustration for our team is that gifts cannot be bulk-imported directly into the QKB queue automatically. During large donation drives, we end up spending a lot of time entering contributions manually so our bookkeeper can find them in the queue. I feel like having that capability would be incredibly useful for us.

“Comprehensive features with great support

Pros

I have been using LGL for four and a half years at a small religious nonprofit and I am really pleased with its comprehensive feature set. As the software is full-featured and the technical support is extremely responsive and knowledgeable, so it reliably meets our organization's needs.

Cons

We run into many default fields in constituent records that we do not use. It is frustrating that we cannot remove them. The best we can do is collapse those sections and train ourselves to ignore them.

We find this tool incredibly easy to use and very affordable. The fact that we can pull data out so effortlessly has been a major advantage for our organization.

I wish there were a few small customization options available as they would make the product even more useful for our needs.

I am impressed by how comprehensive the features are, since they let me add volunteers, mail letters, monitor top donors and identify people who have not donated in quite some time.

Cons

Honestly I struggled to learn this. The tutorials and videos move so quickly that I cannot keep up. Many instructions do not feel user friendly at all. It seems geared toward tech savvy users and was not very friendly for those of us who aren't tech experts.

“Really easy to use with best support

Pros

For me it is really easy to use, the support team is the best and the whole interface feels very user friendly.

Cons

I wish the export options were better. For example the ability to export multiple specific date ranges is missing which means I cannot easily compare a donors fiscal-year gifts across five years. I'd also love an add-on to embed a live thermometer on a webpage that updates in real-time when tied to a campaign in the database.

Pros

I love how user friendly it is. Also it is super simple to use and edit and everything feels neatly arranged. The screens are not cluttered with excessive details, so locating the donor I am after is also a really simple task.

Cons

However it lacks many features that other programs include, so we do not rely on it for things like events, auctions and similar activities.
