“Fantastic file sharing project software - perfect for collaboration
Pros
User-friendly with an aesthetically pleasing interface. Excellent online tutorial videos for document sharing.
Cons
Raising a request for information solely through generating a new blank email is somewhat limiting. The document register could benefit from additional or advanced search criteria fields for substantial improvement. The need to refresh the document register several times before updates take effect is also a bit frustrating.

Pros
Not many issues noted. It may be more suitable for slow-paced projects with dedicated document control teams.
Cons
The redundancy and unintuitiveness of metadata are drawbacks. If the software could automatically extract metadata from a file number or name it would make sense. However as it is everything must be slowly added in triplicate.

Pros
Aconex boasts a better user experience than some competitor systems with a user-friendly interface. The onboarding training set and tutorial videos make it easy for new users to get started.
Cons
I still find these types of software somewhat cumbersome. While the search functionality is good it could be improved and notification emails can be a real nuisance detracting from the user experience and overall effectiveness.

In use for an immense construction project in Sri Lanka Aconex facilitates easy access to drawings reports and documents from various disciplines. Tracking approvals for site inspections reports and drawings is crucial for project progress.
Cons
My biggest frustration arises from the occasional system crashes which can be highly disruptive especially during site inspection replies.
