“Ascentis solid programming software”
Pros
Ascentis is a software that is very easy to set up and the support has been very helpful with any questions. As our first HRIS its ideal to have all representative data in one place. The system has also been easy to update.
Cons
One of the biggest challenge for us is getting timely responses to tax questions since the assessment division is not always readily available. They might be in a different city which creates a time difference and we have to email them to get solutions.

Pros
Overall, I find it to be a great system. Once you become familiar with how things work everything is easy to understand.
Cons
Customer service is not up to the mark. It takes too long to get help after sending an email to support and we are charged for every small change we want to make.

Pros
I really like that this software lets me view everything at once. I can see my time off and current clock in on the same screen. Also it is fairly easy to use and includes a bookkeeping function that makes issuing paychecks easier than with other software.
Cons
Sometimes I see different leave amounts on various screens without any explanation why there is this much inconsistencies.

Pros
I am very much happy with Ascentis mainly with it is timekeeping feature. I know exactly how to use its features and have reliably tracked my hours through it.
Cons
I have no issues with Ascentis! Maybe because we only use Ascentis to track hours worked and it works well for that purpose.

“Employee self-service solution works OK but has room to improve”
Pros
All employee self service options from paycheck and W4 integration to benefits selection are combined into a single self service solution.
Cons
Timecard and payroll are not directly integrated so we have to coordinate with third parties, which can lead to problems if there are issues with payroll.

Pros
Ascentis was our HRIS system a few years ago and it was excellent for managing all our employee data. It was highly customizable and the help desk was very supportive.
Cons
I feel like remote desktop style is not suitable for us so we switched to a cloud based HRIS system. However I do miss the flexibility that HRO offered.

“Good product needs some tweaks”
Pros
Finally I am moving away from useless paper! The HR side worked seamlessly with the payroll side which allows us to updating information pretty easily. Moreover employee self service is handy (provided employees know how to use computers) allowing them to update their information and complete open enrollment online.
Cons
The transition was very difficult. Its unclear how much of the difficulty was due to their side versus ours. During implementation calls, their team often did not understand our concerns and questions which made the process more difficult. I did not handle payroll but our payroll specialist mentioned it lacked features that our previous basic software had like different pay rates for various shifts.

Pros
Employee information is managed pretty well now. The software provides useful links for everything needed to manage employees or for employees to keep track of their own information.
Cons
Organizing can be a bit complex and cause a lot of frustration at times but its a manageable issue. Moreover load times can be slow and clunky.

Cons
Some employees are asking HR to check with Ascentis about the availability of a mobile app. I hope one is in the works!
