Pros

Pros

I find the software incredibly user-friendly, both internally for our team and for our clients. The workflow, file management, and client management features have greatly benefited our firm. We're excited to consolidate our time and billing processes under one login.

Cons

It would be fantastic to have a more robust Home-Admin page and the ability to send bulk e-sign requests using templated letters like engagement letters. Integration of roles by contact to populate assignees (e.g., Partner, Bookkeeper, Preparer, Reviewer, etc.) with tasks would be helpful. Having the option to limit parent task completion to select users would prevent false completion of tasks. It would also be great to share documents with non-portal users, send invoices to non-portal users, and have parent-sub invoicing. Improvements in time and billing functionalities are needed, along with the ability to apply folder templates when applying tasks. Additionally, double-clicking on a file should default to "Edit File" instead of preview mode, and searching for spouses should be possible on mobile. Lastly, allowing additional formatting in the Notes section would be beneficial.

Pretty good, but constantly getting better!

Pros

Canopy's technical and customer support teams are the reason I continue to use this product. They constantly innovate, add features, and refine the product to make it more user-friendly, robust, and feature-rich.

Cons

Invoicing and billing options are limited for my specific needs. It would be great to have the ability to sort the contact list based on custom fields.

Pros

I really appreciate having my CRM, billing, and document management all on one platform.

Cons

I'm still adjusting to the features, but I do wish there were additional options for payment syncing, sharing links outside of the portal, and adding further correspondence to a task.

Pros

We implemented Canopy in our three-office accounting firm, and the implementation team was helpful in getting us set up. It has been a commitment with thousands of users, but it has been well worth it once we got everything up and running.

Cons

The sorting features can be limiting when working with multiple offices, but they are working on improving that.

Canopy is Great

Pros

Document storage and sharing are as easy as clicking a button. The ability for clients to pay online and easily track and add time to invoices is crucial for us.

Cons

There are many features that could greatly enhance the software for our needs. The support team has mentioned that they will add these features, but it has been over a year and none of the features we need have been implemented yet. Hopefully, they will be added soon.

Best Tax Resolution Software Out There!

Pros

The software is intuitive and easy to use. Although we may not fully utilize all its capabilities, it works great for our small office. What we love most is that it keeps us organized! There are so many fantastic features, including the ability to go paperless.

Cons

I would love to customize the text in the "Notes" section since we use it frequently. It would be great to have colored text options, such as red for deadlines and green for amounts due. Additionally, being able to search the contact list by phone numbers would be beneficial. We often receive calls where the name displayed on the caller ID is not the actual person's name, so we have to enter the phone number into our cell phone to determine if it's a current client or someone we've spoken with before.

Pros

Canopy has allowed us to streamline multiple functions into a single system, eliminating the need for several services we used before. Sending invoices and collecting payments directly in our CRM has reduced double entry and file sharing has minimized administrative work.

Cons

The main area where Canopy currently lacks is in its support for multiple offices or teams. Since we have four different offices, it's crucial to be able to allocate clients and tasks among them. Unfortunately, Canopy doesn't currently offer a native solution for this.
