“Architects finally get time tracking right”

Pros

Working in architecture, this tool fits really well with the way projects are managed and it makes tracking hours across different tasks and design phases very easy.

Cons

At times it puts too much information on the screen right away so I have to filter out stats I do not need. The interface could also use some improvement.

“reports are easy to read”

Pros

From the start the dashboard and other features felt very familiar because they matched a lot of what we were already doing. The reports are also laid out in a simple manner which makes them easy to read and understand.

Cons

One downside is that some settings or items can only be changed by the team and during our transition that hasn't been ideal.

“Workflow moves much more smoothly”

Pros

Factor AE is easy to use thanks to its user friendly interface which makes handling tasks and projects much simpler. The workflow automation and collaboration tools have been especially useful, helping our team communicate better and work more efficiently.

Cons

That said a few of the more advanced features take some time to fully learn and customer support can occasionally be a bit slower to respond than I'd expect.

“Data, reports make sense now”

Pros

Getting started with the software was surprisingly simple. Even with a large amount of data built in, the layout is user friendly and it's easy to track down the information you need.

Cons

Custom report creation usually takes a few days. On top of that because there are so many reporting choices available, it can take a bit of time to figure out which report fits what you need.

Pros

Factor AE is a noticeable upgrade from our previous system for logging hours and keeping track of PTO. It is user friendly and easy to use.

Cons

One downside is that it can still be impacted when the internet goes down.

Right from the start Factor AE has been user friendly and efficient and the customer service has been excellent whenever needed.

Cons

At this point I really do not have any major complaints. If anything, they could refine how user permissions are separated a bit more clearly between admins, project managers and staff.

“Quick win for tracking time”

Pros

Duplicating time entries is really easy and keeping an eye on PTO balances is also not a problem. Those two features make day to day tracking much more efficient.

Cons

There's nothing major to complain about. One thing that could make it even better would be adding a recent expense entries feature, similar to recent time entries so recurring expenses could be entered with fewer steps.

“Fits right into our workflow”

Pros

Getting this connected with our project management workflow was easy and that integration has been a big plus.

Cons

One thing that would make it even better is having a mobile app available.

“it's a complete tool”

Pros

Having everything in one system for employee time, project time, project budgets and accurate invoicing has worked really well for us without feeling overly complicated. In our small office filled with creative landscape architecture people, the software has been simple enough that the whole team can use it comfortably.

Cons

Report building hasn't always matched what we need and can be challenging at times. Thankfully its support team has been very helpful and willing to work with us. Like any software, there are limits to what it can do and reporting has been the area where we have had to come up with workarounds.

Pros

Factor A/E has really met our expectations in areas like time tracking, project management, invoicing and reporting. The software itself is impressive and the support team has been responsive and professional.

Overall, my experience with Factor A/E has been really satisfactory so far.

“Best software for my needs”

Pros

I found the system really user-friendly and easy to set up, with quick onboarding right after the demo. It also does a great job tracking consultant fees and project invoices, making everything much easier to manage.

Cons

I'd love to be able to track proposals versus active projects and I'm looking forward to when that feature becomes available.

Pros

It gives me a centralized platform to track employee and project time, manage project budgets and generate accurate invoices without any complexity. It's especially great for smaller offices with creative teams like mine.

Creating reports tailored to specific needs has sometimes been a bit challenging in Factor. But the support staff has been really helpful in addressing these issues. Like with any software, there are some limitations but I've been able to find workaround solutions most of the time.

“Simple design, powerful results”

Pros

It really stands out for being so easy to use compared to other software in the A/E industry, which can often feel cumbersome. The support has been excellent and I love how invoices and reports can be customized to fit our firm's needs..it's a huge improvement over our previous software.

Cons

One feature I miss is the automatic transfer of employee reimbursable expenses to the paid bills, like we had in the previous software. Right now, I have to run an expense report in Factor, then manually enter the expenses in QuickBooks. It's a change in process that will take some getting used to but it could ultimately end up being a preferred way of doing things.
