Amazing for managing complex transformation programs

Pros

It is a powerful platform for managing complex transformation programs. What impressed me most is how quickly and methodically it lets you build meaningful reporting. The impact of individual measures can be aggregated across different project levels and forecasts are displayed in a transparent way. At a glance, it becomes clear which projects and actions are on track and where a closer look is needed which makes prioritization and decision-making much easier. Another major advantage is the customer support: fast, proactive and genuinely helpful. Suggestions for improvement are taken seriously, processed quickly and implemented whenever possible. The ongoing development of the tool clearly shows that user feedback is actively incorporated into the product's evolution.

Cons

The analysis options are somewhat limited although this can be addressed quite well by adding an extra BI tool.

User-friendly interface

Pros

The interface feels user-friendly which really helps with user buy-in because people don't immediately think, "no one's going to understand this anyway so why bother." At the same time, it still offers enough functionality to cover the main use cases well.

Cons

A really frustrating thing is the user column, once someone has logged in before, it switches from showing the email address to last name, first name. That becomes annoying because you then have to manually match everything again during imports and exports. There also aren't any standardized workflows like owners being able to "check off" effects so there's no clear way to know whether the current month has actually been confirmed in ACT.

Clear workflows and fast support

Pros

Right from the start, the interface feels very clear and simple so teams can get comfortable with it almost immediately. It brings together action and project management with financial and benefit tracking in a really strong way. The rollout was quick, data uploads were clean and reliable and the Power BI integration is solid. On top of that, the support team is excellent, fast to respond and consistently solution-oriented.

Cons

It comes with a very broad feature set and unfortunately we can't make full use of everything it offers. If there were a way to hide specific functions we don't use, the software would feel even more organized for our needs.

Missing reporting basics

Pros

Using it is simple which is genuinely a big plus. The customer support is excellent during onboarding and stays very helpful in day-to-day use as well. I also appreciate that reports can basically be exported as PowerPoint and Excel files.

Cons

It's core web product does not seem to have been developed far enough and too much has been pushed to customers through the Power BI integration. The dashboard is not useful, especially for PMO work and the options for analyzing the action program are lacking, such as hardship-level development, effect-driver overviews and similar evaluations. The visual presentation of effects in the action profiles adds very little insight and also looks outdated. Gantt views for actions and activities are completely missing, even though they would be extremely valuable not only for checking whether inputs are plausible but also for management reporting. Overall, it feels more like an Excel template in a browser. That may be acceptable for consulting-focused clients if junior staff are manually building PowerPoint reports and Falcon mainly serves as an input form. But as a corporate user, we miss these basic functions because Falcon is supposed to automate exactly this kind of foundational management reporting for us. Compared with McKinsey Wave and other tools, it is clearly behind.

Simple implementation

Pros

Having strategic milestones tied directly to financial impact and KPIs is it's biggest strength. It brings data from all initiatives together into one reliable source which makes everything much clearer. Tracking and reporting are available with just a click and the C-level-ready PowerPoint outputs are a huge plus. We no longer have to depend on spreadsheets to connect strategy with financial results. Falcon is now the platform we use for all strategic initiatives and the implementation was also extremely simple.

Cons

Adding simple built-in analysis and charting features would be nice. The export function gives enough data to do all kinds of analysis elsewhere but it would be much more useful if Falcon included those capabilities natively.

Laid out clearly

Pros

Having tasks, costs and responsibilities laid out clearly is really helpful. It works especially well for cost and cash flow planning and compared with other project management tools, the interface feels user-friendly and simple to use.

Cons

Even though the software is not really designed for Gantt charts, there are times when that kind of visual view would be useful for explaining projects to stakeholders.

Perfect balance between simplicity and functionality

Pros

It strikes a really good balance between keeping things simple and still covering the essentials needed to manage a project properly. It stays focused without becoming overly complicated or making you feel lost in too many layers. The flexibility is a big advantage too, both when setting it up and while tracking progress, especially when changes come up during the project. Even though it keeps the hierarchy of packages and activities fairly lean, it still includes all the key metrics you need like time, profitability and KPIs. The desktop layout is also well presented and the built-in reporting adds even more value.

Cons

A more dynamic, freely adjustable time period selection would make it better. That said, the product is clearly being developed further on an ongoing basis which makes it feel likely that these smaller gaps will continue to be addressed over time.

Pulls milestones, financial impact and status reporting

Pros

Compared with the giant Excel files we used to drag around for strategy projects, it feels like the upgrade we had been waiting for. It pulls milestones, financial impact and status reporting into one place. That makes it perfect for giving C-level stakeholders a very fast overview of strategy execution, while the rest of the team can update information quickly and without any hassle. Another big plus is that the data is already available in polished PowerPoint format. Preparing for steering committee meetings used to take the team hours and this cuts that workload down significantly.

Cons

Workflow functionality could be better. It would be better with more detail and flexibility since the current version covers about 80% of what we need.
