excellent UI and AI features

Pros

An excellent code management tool that lets us code in parallel and collaborate on a project effectively. The UI is excellent and the AI features are a big plus.

Cons

Github Actions isn't a very popular feature and it could use more documentation on how to work with it.

indispensable for team projects

Pros

At first, the way the program works can be a little hard to grasp but once you understand the logic, it becomes indispensable for organizing projects with work teams or even ones that were already created. It also includes a console which those of us with more senior development experience really appreciate.

Cons

Can be a bit difficult to understand at the beginning.

Made us more productive

Pros

Role-based access controls help ensure only the right people can make changes to the code. Comments and notes make everything clearer and support better teamwork. Milestones are useful for staying focused, motivated and on schedule. The integrations also add a lot to the workflow by connecting with other helpful tools.

Cons

Getting started can be tough for beginners specially when features like branching and merging come into play. The free plan also has restrictions when it comes to private repositories. Also, troubleshooting bugs can sometimes mean digging through a pretty complicated commit history.

fantastic free static hosting

Pros

Being able to deploy static websites at no cost is probably the biggest highlight for me and the option to choose domain names at a much lower price makes it even better. Also, the way version handling works is far better than expected.

Cons

One thing I liked the least about it is the interface which feels a bit complicated at first specially for people who do not come from a programming background.

helpful community support

Pros

Whenever I get stuck, there are usually other people around who can step in and help me out.

Cons

At times, it can be a little slow to respond or it shows things that aren't really necessary.

secure code collaboration

Pros

It does a really good job of keeping my source code protected while still tracking the important changes made to it. That gives me a real advantage when I'm collaborating with other developers.

Cons

Honestly there's not much I dislike about it.

We loved using it

Pros

Everything about it just works. It's fast, runs on Mac OS, Windows and Linux and integrates really well with both Visual Studio Code on PC and Mac and Visual Studio on PC. Code comparison and merging are strong and I haven't run into any issues using it.

Cons

What needs attention is disk space usage. It can start taking up a lot of storage and I lost around 50 GB the other day. Better built-in cleanup options would be a big improvement.

An excellent tool

Pros

Has been a really valuable platform thanks to its user-friendly interface, strong collaboration features and large developer community. It also offers useful project management tools and a cost-effective cloud-based setup which makes version control, team collaboration and overall project development much more convenient.

Cons

On the downside, it can get expensive for certain users and the customization and integration options feel somewhat limited. There are also occasional performance slowdowns and the interface can be a bit confusing for beginners at first.

Has good controls

Pros

Getting started was simple and the access controls were clear while still offering the features we needed to meet our goals.

Cons

There isn't much to complain about; my only minor issue is that a few features are locked behind the higher-tier plan.

fantastic for student projects

Pros

It has easily been one of the most useful tools I've used throughout school. Besides writing code on it, I've also used it as a professional-style portfolio for some of my other engineering projects. The basics are very quick to pick up and Honestly it feels essential when you're working on a technical project with friends or classmates.

Cons

I really don't have any complaints. I'm sure there are drawbacks depending on how someone uses it but for what I need, it's been perfect.

all code in one place

Pros

Having all of a project's source code gathered in one platform is really important and that's exactly the part of It I appreciate most.

Cons

It excels at code hosting and version control yes.. but for deployment, users have to pair it with dedicated CI/CD or hosting services

powerful for tracing commits

Pros

When logs don't give much to work with, this is really helpful for debugging. If all you have is an error message, being able to trace it back through branches and commits makes issues much easier to track down.

Cons

Interface can feel a little confusing at first and there's definitely a learning curve specially if you're working with it through the CLI.

Incredible software

Pros

Moving from an on-premise source control system, switching to it felt like the natural next step. Having a full solution with integrated CI/CD and AI tools like Copilot really covers everything we need and Also, the option to automate and script everything with Terraform makes it even better. For our team, adopting it has been one of the best decisions we've made.

Cons

At this point, there's nothing missing for us. It already has everything we need and we still have more features to explore as we continue using it.

user-friendly code review experience

Pros

Getting started with it was simple and the interface feels very user-friendly. The setup process didn't take much effort, customer support has been reliable whenever needed and the code review system works really well.

Cons

Pricing could be better and I'd also like to see improvements in art asset management and stronger support specifically for the Unity engine.

collaborations done right

Pros

The feature set feels focused and well suited to the specific job it's built for. Working through it makes collaboration much more smooth when multiple people or teams are involved. Also, the more advanced capabilities become especially valuable as your code repository gets larger and more mature.

Cons

Getting started does take a bit of time to learn and becoming an advanced user may mean picking things up through trial and error. If you're new to it, it's a good idea to try the features on your own code first before applying them to anything in production.
